1. M83 2. Sufjan 3. Grimes 4. Alabama Shakes 5. Caribou 6. Wolf Alice 7. Digable Planets 8. King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard 9. Yeasayer 10. Big Grams
M83 was one of the best sasquatch sets I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot. Right up there with LCD in 2010. Digable Planets was the biggest surprise of the weekend, didn't know what to expect and totally loved their reinvention with a badass funk band. Honorable mention to Thao & the Get Down Stay Down, who totally killed it for the 20 min or so I saw, they did a wicked cover of Missy Elliott.
Bummed I missed out on the Internet because my people were too slow, but that's how day four goes.

Yeasayer- I've seen these guys a bunch of times, including at Neumos back in the day, Neptune on their last tour, and S! 2011 when they were the first band of the day on the mainstage, and I only caught the last song because the lines were moving slow. What? They had a 9pm Bigfoot set on Sunday that year... Gasp! I must be thinking of 2008 then, they were definitely on the mainstage early. Guess I'm older than I thought... I'm pretty sure I only caught one song, but it was one of my favs (Sunrise).

The easy answer to this question is M83, Alabama Shakes, and Sufjan. I can personally vouch that all will be amazing, but they seem to be pretty well covered, so I'm gonna dig a little deeper.
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard- I have seen these guys only once, at Barboza, and they fucking tore that place up. It was loud and chaotic (in a good way), they crammed like 8 people on that tiny stage, including two drummers. There is one guy in the band who plays something different on pretty much every song, flute, harmonica (with shitloads of reverb), keys, yelling. The best songs from that set were the ones off of In Your Mind Fuzz, but I'm stoked to check out their new stuff. I'm hoping they end up mid-day on the bigfoot stage, my greatest fear is that they end up playing opposite Sufjan or one of the other unmissable artists on Monday (there are a lot). When I saw their tour schedule last fall and it was clear they'd be at squatch, I bought a ticket immediately (tbh I was gonna do that anyways, but it really sealed the deal for me).
Mac DeMarco- I saw MDM at bumbershoot 2014, and it was one of the best things I've seen at that festival in recent years. His recorded material is a little more laid back than the live show, it's much more lively and danceable in the live setting. His band has that loose vibe where it seems like they're all having fun, they are cracking jokes and doing weird shit up there, at one point in the set Mac lit a cigarette while crowdsurfing. It's definitely the type of thing that needs to be experienced live to fully appreciate, and is pretty much a guaranteed good time. I'm kinda hoping he gets a late night bigfoot set, but it'll be awesome wherever and whenever it happens.
Yeasayer- I've seen these guys a bunch of times, including at Neumos back in the day, Neptune on their last tour, and S! 2011 when they were the first band of the day on the mainstage, and I only caught the last song because the lines were moving slow. I'm excited they are on the lineup, this is the type of booking that makes Sasquatch! unique, they are not playing a ton of festivals and have new music coming out, I am anticipating a good show. Their sound is constantly evolving from album to album, so you never quite know what you're going get. The band is three guys but they may have additional touring musicians. Their songs don't always come across immaculately in a live setting, but I like that element of rawness, and they have always put on a good show. They usually have trippy visuals, which makes me want them to have the late night set on the bigfoot, but I'm assuming that will be Chet Faker this year and Yeasayer will likely be on the mainstage in the daylight, which would also be fun. I will be getting my groove on.

It appears Wolf Alice has been moved to Friday from Monday, which is a positive development for both days in my opinion.

So, these threads have kind of died, hah. Though, Sasquatch is 4 months away.. Anyhow - what would y'all think about swapping Borns and Kurt Vile? I think an overlap between King Gizzard and Kurt Vile is pretty unlikely. agreed about that overlap being unlikely, I hope the schedule gods see it that way too. but another way you could make that happen is just switch King Gizzard with Titus Andronicus, who are actually listed above them on the website anyways.

1. Sufjan 2. Alabama Shakes 3. M83 4. Grimes 5. Caribou 6. King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard 7. Yeasayer 8. Big Grams 9. Purity Ring 10. Kurt Vile
I just realized 5 of my top 10 are playing on Monday, and if I kept going it might be 10 of my top 15. I guess I should start preparing myself for some extremely painful conflicts.

Or maybe it should have been 3/18 (between Portland and Vancouver dates) instead of 4/18 and they are updating it. I WANT ANSWERS. 4/18 was my mistake, it was 3/18 and I just forgot how months and/or numbers work. there's some answers for you.

So, as of last night Young Fathers had a date at Neumos on their website (4/18), and now it is not there. No ticket link on the Neumos site. Could be our first major add? I would be psyched. www.brooklynvegan.com/archives/2016/01/young_fathers_a.htmlwww.young-fathers.com/edit: as per that same link, they are in Liverpool on Sat... so maybe not. edit again: though they would be a great addition to Fri, and airplanes exist. so I'm holding out hope.

Have artists ever come back to Sasquatch to play the exact same set time and stage? While I agree that Major Lazer has no business headlining the festival, I would also find it pretty strange if they close out the bigfoot again. I think the Decemberists did, pretty sure the last two times they've played were the same slot on the mainstage. But generally that doesn't happen, it's almost always a step up. I say ML is worthy, of the four headliners that's actually the one I'm looking forward to the most. but I don't go to Squatch for the headliners, they're just gravy on my fries.

I have Purity Ring for the late night bigfoot, Big Grams makes some sense but they don't have a lot of material, unless they do something like Outkast did where they play some Phantogram songs and then play some Big Boi songs. From the few shows they've played it looks like they do some kind of mashup thing, but I think they're more likely to play the 10pm bigfoot slot.
Also just thinking out of the box, a Mac DeMarco late night show would be pretty wild. Unexpected for sure, but I never would have thought that Spoon would play one last year.

Digable Planets seems like a very unlikely late night show. Not sure what their live set is like, but they do not have the catalog or reputation that the Roots did when they played there. From the billing, it seems more likely that Tycho plays the late night and then Rudimental headline the dance tent. Ratatat played the late night a few years back without a mindblowing light show (just some basic projections, as I recall).
Also Lord Huron sure sound like a mainstage-type band to me.
I really doubt that a mainstage headliner will be added, I think it'll be Major Lazer throwing down, but maybe this is the day they add an Animal Collective late-night set... please?

thanks for doing this, much prettier than the notes I've been scribbling.
I think between Yeasayer and Chet Faker one of them gets the 7:30 mainstage slot and the other gets the late night bigfoot. I feel like it's gonna be Yeasayer at night because they have a large catalog and usually a trippy light show. Chet on the mainstage seemed weird to me at first, but I think it could happen, and would be cool. I also think they're unlikely to put him in a slot at the same time as Disclosure, which makes late night and dance tent headliner less likely.
Although it may in fact be the way you have it now, I wouldn't be surprised to see a mainstage level add (or two) to this day. There's no way someone as unknown as Andra Day is playing a slot that Gogol Bordello had last year.
One other thing, Grace Love and the True Loves are more likely than Tangerine to open up the mainstage, they have a big band and she has a big voice, it would work quite well and she's about the same level of local cred as Ayron who played that spot last year.

I just have to say, it would be awesome if the late night sets this year are (in order): Grimes // Miike Snow // Animal Collective* // Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz *I think this still could happen, assuming AC sells out their Neptune show (seems quite likely, they played the Paramount last time they came through)
some other bands that make sense for squatch that I would be very excited to see in the lineup this year: Alabama Shakes M83 Youth Lagoon Big Grams The Arcs Young Fathers
I generally don't care about the headliners, but one that I would be psyched for is My Morning Jacket, they were killer in Seattle this fall, it would be a great year for them to come back. But if the Cure really are playing that would make two repeat headliners, which seems unlikely to me.
a few good locals I expect to be there: Telekinesis (great new album) Grace Love & the True Loves Car Seat Headrest (KEXP looooooves these guys)
and because wanton speculation is fun, a couple long-shot headliners that would rock: The Chemical Brothers The Strokes Gorillaz (yes plz, melt my brain)

top 10 must see 2012 1. St Vincent - anyone watch that Coachella webcast? holy crap. skipping as much of the Shins/Jack White as necessary to see all of her amazingness. 2. Joy Formidable - never seen them before, love the album 3. the D - let's float down the strawberry river! (btw, I fully expect John C. Reilly to make an appearance as sasquatch) 4. Spiritualized - the conflict between my #3 and #4 kills me every time I think about it. seriously disappointed they are not on the mainstage. 5. Bon Iver - I get chills when I think about Skinny Love echoing around the gorge 6. the Roots - put on a hell of a show, and I'm psyched there's something other than crappy music with flashy lights in the late-night set. 7. Tune-Yards - love her music, refuse to participate in annoying capitalization 8. Girl Talk - huge party every time 9. Beirut - should be a lovely sunset 10. Beck - a bit of a wild card. I've seen him a bunch, and every time has been different (and always great), so although he's not on top of my list, it could end up being the best set of the weekend. honorable mention: War on Drugs, Grouplove top 10 I hadn't listened to before lineup dropped, and now look forward to seeing 1. Here We Go Magic 2. Yellow Ostrich 3. Gardens & Villa 4. Of Monsters & Men 5. Unknown Mortal Orchestra 6. Walk the Moon 7. Hey Rosetta! 8. Kurt Vile 9. Active Child 10. Reptar (though I probably won't actually end up getting there early for this one) note: this was gonna be a top 5, but it just kept going… nice work by AZ this year (like every year). top 5 I wish I could see but will probably have to skip entirely 1. SBTRKT 2. James Murphy DJ 3. Beat Connection 4. Mogwai 5. Portlandia top 5 bad decisions made by sasquatch this year (because I love complaining) 1. Spiritualized not being on the mainstage 2. Silversun Pickups playing after Feist (she was billed higher, but is playing earlier) 3. Silversun Pickups being there at all 4. having Shabazz Palaces perform in daylight (again) 5. the overall weakness of the mainstage this year, especially compared with all the amazing bands on the second stage.

Cass McCombs is playing in San Fran on Friday, so he could be the 7th Yeti act on Sunday. As for the others...I really hope there's something else going on during Feed Me, so bring it on. yeah, that makes sense. then I suppose Greylag would be on the Yeti on Friday. but there will be nothing else (besides the tail end of Bon Iver) going on during Feed Me. [edit - oh, you meant Pretty Lights. I hope so too, but won't hold my breath.]

clearly Friday this year will be very different from last year - all the stages are going, and it seems like it will be closer to the full sasquatch! experience than the tacked-on foo fighters show from last year (or NIN a few years back where only the mainstage was running). I fully expect the Wookiefoot to go much later, but probably not a late-night set -- although I wish they would... how cool would it be to have explosions late-night after pretty lights?
I figure the Walkmen could be on Friday, also three bands on the Yeti that don't have dates - We Are Augustines, Cass McCombs, & Coeur de Pirate - could fill out the day nicely. which would make sense, because the Yeti seems pretty full the rest of the weekend.

Tenacious D is playing Monday, according to pollstar. I know they were already pegged for that day due to process of elimination, but whoomp, there it is. according to their official site as well. www.tenaciousd.com/events

and the schedule slowly drifts into focus....
any of you sleuthers able to find out which day Joy Formidable is playing? or the Walkmen? I'm guessing Walkmen on Friday, JF I thought would be Monday but now not so sure.
the potential Tenacious v Spiritualized conflict is bumming me out again, though I won't take anything too seriously before it's official.

Maybe some people here can help me...Are the Helio Sequence good? I can't seem to make up my mind, some songs are good others are ehh. And what about Here We Go Magic? I've heard good things.. I like Helio Sequence, and they put on a pretty good show. they play as a two-piece, which leaves me wondering how much of what I'm hearing is a backing track being played off a laptop, but when they're rocking it I don't care. bottom line, they're good but not unmissable, and with the wealth of amazing music at this sasquatch there's a good chance I'll be elsewhere. Here We Go Magic has shot up to the top of my bands-I-never-listened-to-before-the-lineup-came-out-but-now-want-to-see list (it's getting long this year). their recordings are super trippy, but never seen them live. anybody else on here seen them?
