2010 there was a large batch of fake Coachella wristbands being sold in Indio. They were fabric and looked good, but the colors were a little off. When you put them next to a real one you could tell. People were showing up at the entrance and freaking when the realized they had been scammed. My Coachella wristband is being hand-delivered by the mighty mighty Shaxspear so I know it's legit. As for Sasquatch, I'm a little surprised that it sold out as quickly as it did, but I guess it's a sign of the times. For anyone that can afford it, I highly recommend buying next year's tickets during the pre-sale, knowing you can probably sell it for face or close to it if the lineup isn't to your liking (not likely) or you can't make it for some reason. I do this for a lot of shows (buy as early as possible, usually pre-sale, and rest assured I can sell it afterwards if it comes to that).

The more I look at the lineup, the more excited I get. There's a lot of acts I want to see, headliners be damned.

HOLY FUCK! You're a man who knows how to get shit done. I thought the campground opened at noon, though? Either way, I'm up for absolutely anything, and definitely down to get there as early as possible. I suppose at this point we can coordinate via PMs, so I'll carry the conversation on over there. Coachella.com says the camping opens at 9:00am Thursday. That may still be from last year, but I doubt it will be different this year. Shax can probably confirm. As for who's bringing what, we should move it to PM or maybe just start a spreadsheet on google docs (NERD ALERT)

I made a apple pecan chipotle spice cake for my housewarming party on Saturday. Aside from having more bite than I expected, it turned out awesome. It also has the dubious honor of being the first cake I've ever made where I wanted to drink more beer while I was eating it. Dangerous to be sure. Sugar + alcohol = awesome + hangover.

I can't wait to make your lineup poster for you. Arts and crafts! J-Dawg, are we planning on entering the campground when it opens? I'm all game for an early head start on Thursday morning. I'd love to have a camping spot right near the entrance like Shax did last year. This will take some planning to pull off but it can be done - here's what it would mean: - We coordinate ahead of time re: stuff we want to buy / bring, and I buy everything that is a "buy" before you and Lahey arrive. This includes alcohol and food which I would just buy on Wednesday after work. I'll also fill the tank before picking you up from the airport. - In order to get to the polo grounds by 9:00am when camping opens, we need to be on our way (as in wheels rolling) before 6:30am if we are willing to interpret the speed limit liberally; having lived in SoCal for a while now, I'm pretty sure I know how far we can push it. - Given how I function in the morning, this will mean a 5:45 wake up for me and an immediate caffeine jolt, but that's do-able as long as things don't get too out of hand on Wednesday evening. If all of that sounds OK to you guys, we just need to coordinate the supplies ahead of time so that there's no need to stop Thursday morning.

J-Dawg did you book your vaycay yet? I'm off from the 7th to the 18th. Our rental out of SD is booked for a week beginning on the 10th, but can hang out earlier if you have the time off and want to squire us about your fine city. So far I have the 11th through the 15th off. I'll be free to hang out the other evenings, but I don't think I'll be able to get any additional time off given that I have a big vacation planned in June. I'm picking Pea and Lahey up at the Airport on the 10th in the evening. You guys are welcome to come earlier / stay longer and crash at my place the whole time, but I'll only be able to hang out during the evenings.

what time did you land at LAX last year? 1:30 pm LAX at 1:30 sucked for me last year, though it wasn't LAX's fault so much as it was Avis Rent-A-Car's fault. I waited in line for over an hour at the rental car counter, which meant I didn't leave LAX until 2:40ish which led to even crappier traffic than I should have hit. But yeah, if you're flying to LAX, then 4.5 hours from when you get off the plane to when you arrive at Coachella (including rental car bullshit, traffic, and whatnot) is probably a worst-case if you're arriving before 2:00pm. The earlier the better. My advice is to avoid LAX altogether and do SAN or some other airport.

I am really hoping I can find an edible burrito at Coachella this time around. The one I had last year was hands down one of the worst things I have ever put in my mouth. Didn't someone find a piece of plastic in theirs? No need to find burritos at Coachella when we can buy them in San Diego before we go there. Trust me, if it's one thing San Diego knows how to do, it's burritos.

Definitely no main stage EDM though eh Pea? They aren't throwing Bassnectar out there I wonder if They'll put Bassnectar on the outdoor stage or if we'll have to do the glowpocalypse in the Sahara. And I'm with Stamper - Biffy Clyro 2.0! I think we all know where we're going to meet up...

neat video, but all it does is piss me off more. just gimme the damn lineup already. Yeah, I'm with you on this one. It's almost like they're trying to hide the fact that they don't have everyone signed yet. We don't even have a date yet, let alone the lineup. At this rate, we'll know who's playing Sasquatch before we know who's playing Coachella.

Ugh... Bad news... I'm already run out of vacation days - trip with the BF in Feb + Coachella + 2 week family vacation in June = Sasquatch fail.

You peeps that plan on visiting me in San Diego before / after Coachella, I need to start booking days off... so let's start figuring out the details. PM me or e-mail me (PM me if you don't have my e-mail) and let's figure out the optimum time to pick up burritos from Lolitas or Lucha Libre...
(The guest room is fully outfitted and the couch is as comfy as always.)

I got a large last year. Fit 4 small backpacks with lots of room to spare. You can definitely go smaller.

I'm debating whether to get a locker or not. It came in handy last year although I wasn't camping. Still, it would be nice to exchange sunblock for glowy shit in the evening without having to go through the security line in the evening.

That actually did come on when no one was in the pool and my boss gave me quite the look. If anyone here needed any further evidence that Souly is awesome, you need look no further.

J-Dawg needs to come out of hiding so I can start planning my travel arrangements. Shax, are you gonna be in San Diego with him before the fest? I'm considering flying in Wednesday evening instead of Thursday morning so we can get an earlier start on the road. Yeah. I have to work it out with J-Dawg but we might be coming in as early as Monday or Tuesday. We'll likely be spending Wednesday night in Palm Springs with Nater so we can get to the polo fields when they open up. I'm pretty flexible at this point - let me know what you're thinking for flights and I'm sure we can sort it out. The condo I bought has a spare bedroom as well as 2 parking spaces, so logistically it should be pretty simple assuming you're renting a car in SD upon arrival.

I'm considering flying in Wednesday evening instead of Thursday morning so we can get an earlier start on the road. I'm not hiding, just lurking. There's a difference! We can work things out re: your flight whenever it winds up being - It would be nice to get an earlier start Thursday, and you're more than welcome to stay Wed at my place. Sounds like Shax and Megatron are going to be in PS Wednesday night, so the spare room should be free. If not, there's also the couch.
