I think the mix professor sent me took a little over 2 weeks to get up here, so I wouldn't worry just yet. And it was with every second of waiting, I'm sure. It was! I've only had a chance to listen to it 1 and a half times but so far loving it, especially the Gil Scott-Heron track (always been a big fan of him) and the Robin Thicke track which surprised me.

Count me in! And I'm gonna try to snag a few extras in the sale for those who can't get their tix this Friday.
I'm completely expecting the fest to be a total clusterfuck since they couldn't even manage their line up announcement. Figure though, go in with low expectations and it can only get better from there, right?

Leave CHVRCHES early, inflate things and dance for 20-30 minutes then bounce next door. I said fairly reasonable, that's a cakewalk compared to some other times. Hell I have a 3 way conflict Friday at 1.Starting the orgy a little early that day, aren't you?

I know you don't need any last minute conflicts, but I caught the Bryan Ferry (Roxy Music) show in Portland tonight. He's got a rough time slot at Coachella, so I doubt many of you will attend. He had nine people on stage, and it was a modernized version of what Roxy Music sounded like 40 years ago, heavy with guitar solos, but also mixed with mellow songs the kids these days will hate. The saxophone player was a highlight, so attractive. She played the alto mostly, but the tenor on a couple songs, and the soprano on a couple more. When she wasn't blowing the reed, she was playing keyboards. I know what it's like at 10pm at Coachella. I still love the Aquabats because of that time slot. If you are not 100% committed to another show then, and you find yourself standing in front of a sexy saxophone player, and a dude who looks like Bruce Buffer (LETS GET READY TO RUMBLE), stick around for a couple minutes. You'll catch something that will at least make your grandfather jealous. This just solidifies my decision to catch all of his set over The Replacements. Still bummed I can't do both but that always seems to be the catch of Coachella, so many great bands that all play at the same time so you always miss something on your must-see list.

There is a post office in the airport, level 1 of the domestic terminal beside the 7-11 (knowledge courtesy of my job).

I think my favourite part of the adds is that they all seem to be conflict-free for me. The Replacements vs Bryan Ferry and Arcade Fire vs Motörhead conflicts on the other hand are really bumming me out.

Wonder if Live Nation will send out presale codes like they did for Kraftwerk and New Order... Except even live nation screwed that up. I never got a link. No Double weekender got a presale code. Seriously fuck livenation. I got the email with the code, albeit about 3 hours after the presale started.

Haha Pooch sold out >50000 tickets at stupid prices. Him alone would sell out Pemberton in minutes. I don't know that him alone would sell out in minutes a 3 day pass only camping festival... Most of the people that would want to see him aren't going to be interested in the whole festival aspect. It would still sell out though. Doesn't matter anyway 'cause they didn't get him.

That Block Party thing looks decent except that it's on a Sunday. Rock the Shores on the other hand looks absolutely terrible! I know there are a lot of festivals these days making for slim pickings for bookings but they really managed to scrape the bottom of the barrel with that line up.

Please tell me you didn't leave a clogged toilet for the poor housekeeper at Hotel Van to deal with? Tell me that was the "one" that survived your poops?

I'm pretty sure a cover band wouldn't headline Glastonbury. There's also a band from Victoria called The Special Guests. I don't think it's them either. thatsthejoke.jpg Joke, head, you know how it goes. (Also, maybe I should have clicked on the link you posted...) Anyway, the rumour for "special guests" seems to be Metallica right now. I'd be much happier with that over Bowie since I'm not going this year and would be totally gutted to have missed seeing him at Glasto by a year.

Thanks for the concern guys, but Chaos will be ok. She has an hematoma in her ear, so basically a blood vessel popped and the thin flap of her ear swelled up like a balloon filled with blood. Nothing life threatening, just fucking expensive to fix. I guess this is love though, when you don't even give a second thought to dropping $600+ to pop a bloody ear balloon because it's just the thing to do.

It is kinda hard to tell who the headliners are but I think it's Arcade Fire, Kasabian (who are very big in the UK) and Jack White. Pretty sure "special guests" are an unnamed big act not the band in that link. But the line up posted is definitely only about half of what will be playing when all is said and done, there's still quite a bit more to go (albeit mostly all smaller acts).

It's heartbreaking knowing that it's highly unlikely I'll be able to attend Glastonbury, Rokslide, and Primavera in the next 10 years.. Pick one and make it a goal, it's surprisingly easier to do than you think. And if I win the lotto this week, I'll totally take all you guys to Glastonbury to make up for our loss of Julysquatch. That's a great start to the line up! I wonder if "special guests" with Arcade Fire is David Bowie?

Finally got my medical coverage back today after they had decided I was dead last year and cut me off. Turns out that I'm not dying from the mysterious chest pain that's been giving me terrible panic attacks so yay? Also, it is remarkably easy to fake your own death in this country. Wow, we really are the same person-- I had no coverage for almost a year when I was in university 'cause they accidentally listed me as dead when we outsourced all the MSP data input to an American company. Took my mom about 3 months to get it straightened out on my behalf because they wouldn't talk to me since I was considered dead.
