I didn't love Girl Talk as much as I thought I would...but I wouldn't say I was dissappointed.
The only acts I didn't enjoy all weekend were the Shin and M. Ward....but I knew I wouldn't enjoy them.
Everyone who I was excited to see fucking nailed it. Plus a ton of amazing surprises that I had no prior feelings towards (Beardyman, Blind Pilot, Tycho, Todd Barry, Civil Wars, Jamey Johnson, Chiddy Bang).
What a perfect fucking weekend.

Strangely, I felt weirdly emotional during Blind Pilot. God, I love that band. Jinx

Did anyone catch Blind Pilot?
Their last song was one of the funnest dance parties of the weekend. Everyone was going nuts! It was a big love fest down in the pit. I had the biggest damn smile on my face. It was amazing. Such a great moment.

I was almost positive I wouldn't be able to do Sasquatch next year. This weekend has made me re-evaluate some things....I'll make it work. Samesies. I already bought my Coachella ticket and I really, really want to do Glastonbury so I've just been assuming Sasquatch is out of the question. 100% doing Sasquatch if I can't get a Glasto ticket and if I do manage to get one, I'm gonna see what kind of magic I can work to either do all three or maybe Coachella will be sold off... This was my plan as well. I thought it was just going to be Glasto and Coachella next year. I just mapped out my vacation days for the next two years...and I can make all three work next year, I just need to save up some money.

So happy you all had fun. It has made the decision easy to book off work for next year. I was almost positive I wouldn't be able to do Sasquatch next year. This weekend has made me re-evaluate some things....I'll make it work.

I recall wishing I had purchased a Wildhorse campsite when we pulled up Friday afternoon to the biggest logjam I've ever experienced at the gorge. Everyone inside the horse were drinking and frisbeeing and I was sitting in traffic. Fuuuuuuuuuck I was in that, it was brutal. Over an hour and a half to get in.

Girl Talk needed to be about a half hour shorter. But it was fun.

The Maine stage was a huge pissoff. I was near the front at Bigfoot for Cloud Cult and the bass from the rap happening over there was still infiltrating everything. Also it made for a very annoying overlap at the shade tent. Honestly the only time I noticed the Maine Stage was during Todd Barry's set, which was hilarious

I think Live Nation stepped it up in a big way. It was relatively organized, the sound and lights were good everywhere, everything was on time, security weren't douches (except once that I saw), and everything seemed completely better in every way. Except the Maine Stage, which was useless and served only to piss off all the comedians. I watched three comedians and they all complained about the noise from the Maine Stage. I say scrap it. Agreed about the sound and lights, I think they did some serious upgrades. I went there hoping for lots of $4 beers but saw only one concession stand that actually offered them at that price. The rest of the alcohol options were obscenely overpriced as usual. It seems the food options were expanded, however the food was priced ridiculously as well. The only times I bought food inside the venue were to get an elephant ear (which are just awesome and worth the $6) and when I forgot to pack food for the day on Monday. Where were the $4 beers and how big were they? I managed to sneak in all my booze 2 out of 3 days, so I didn't really mind buying booze one of the days. And I have now gone two years without purchasing any food there.

This is me reminding myself to add to this later. In short, fuck you Coachella. Coachella 2011 blew Sasquatch 2011 out of the water, but I'm in complete agreement here. Sasquatch 2012 was different, and better than Coachella 2012 in nearly every way. I agree 100%

That glowpocalypse > pretty lights. Fer reals. Anything > pretty lights after girl talk to be honest. Get the fuck outta here. PRETTY EFFIN LIGHTS >>>>>>>>>>> Feed Me >>>>>Girl Talk Although as Gang said, drugs have influenced my opinion. I just thought Girl Talk got really tired too. It was fun, but it was the same damn thing over and over again. Too long.

1. Beiruit - Holy shit. Sunset on the hill. It was perfect. Even a cold-hearted bastard like me thought this was freaking romantic.
2. JACK FUCKIN WHITE - Man, this rocked so freaking hard. "Steady as she Goes" was absolutely mental.
3. PRETTY EFFIN LIGHTS - It was everything I hope for, and more.
4. James Funkin Murphy - I planned on quickly stopping by and maybe staying for a song, ended up staying for the whole thing. AMAZING dance party.
5. The Roots - Funky as hell! Some great covers, great jams, great energy and an awesome choice for a late night set.
6. Santigold - Really great way to kick off the weekend for me. This chick is a rock star.
7. Bon Iver - Calgary and Beth/Rest were aces.
8. Beardyman - Surprise of the weekend. I thought he was supposed to be a comedian or something? Some of the most interesting music I heard all weekend. Dude laid it DOWN. Awesome dance party. Womp womp.
9. The Civil Wars - How adorable were these two?
10. Feed Me - Only on here because of how much fun I had with ya'll. I wasn't really blown away by the show, but I still had a great time. Maybe it was because I was totally sober, but yeah, it was aight.
