This is kind of a quick list. If I thought harder and took more time to sort, the order would probably be a little different. Also there were a few albums I hadn't taken the time to listen to this year that probably would have made the list if I had taken the time.
20. Pretty Lights - A Color Map of the Sun 19. Booka Shade - Eve 18. Black Sabbath - 13 17. Mat Zo - Damage Control 16. Youth Lagoon - Wondrous Bughouse 15. My Bloody Valentine - m b v 14. Deafheaven - Sunbather 13. Queens of the Stoneage - ...Like Clockwork 12. Arcade Fire - Reflektor 11. Kanye West - Yeezus 10. Yo La Tengo - Fade 9. Claude VonStroke - Urban Animal 8. The Knife - Shaking the Habitual 7. BT - A Song Across Wires 6. How To Destroy Angels - Welcome Oblivion 5. Maya Jane Coles - Comfort 4. John 00 Fleming - One.Hundred.Ten WKO 3. If you're going to get a Sufjan Christmas album, you gotta go with Christmas Unicorn.
This is the last track on the last disc of Silver & Gold. Best song on the album. If you go to Amazon MP3 or ichunes it will tell you Album Only. That's how special it is. Also in case you missed it in my edited comment above, you can get Silver & Gold via Amazon MP3 for 9.99 right now.
Perfect album for getting into the holiday spirit.
I've been having trouble selecting my Christmas album for this year, but I think I've found the one. Thanks.
This would be the first Christmas album I would ever recommend, the second would be Songs for Christmas. Both are 5 discs, so they make for a great listen when you have the time to chill and enjoy. You can get it in a vinyl box set, but it'll run you about $120.
Edit: You can get this album on Amazon MP3 right now for 9.99, which is pretty good for how much music you get.
Fatboy Slim. Probably would have to be a headlining spot, so probably won't happen, but I've wanted to experience a Fatboy Slim set since the 90s. USC is too bent on booking cheese for headliners, so I can't depend on them to bring him to the PNW.
