i think it's pretty amazing. lives up to my high expectations from them. but then, i like broken social scene's overall style quite a bit. they've become one of my most anticipated acts for sure

i think the grocery store note was just related to his morals regarding underage drinking. there's a gas station right by the gorge that we always buy alcohol at if we can't fit enough in the car at the beginning. if you went there' i can't imagine many people turning you down. i'd buy your beer if i was there. i'm sure a lot of people feel the same if you want beer in the venue...well, frankly, you don't. it's way too expensive. if you're caught drinking without a 21+ wristband you could get in some trouble but if someone buys you some in the venue just be subtle about it

Something like these 10, but probably not in this order...
Broken Social Scene Massive Attack My Morning Jacket Pavement Cymbals Eat Guitars Caribou Portugal. The Man MGMT Japandroids Phantogram
Can anyone tell me who will be included in Massive Attack's lineup other than the obvious Martina Topley Bird?

it depends on where you live, but craigslist might be a really good idea. my friends found some on there for regular price

So none of the acts that played at the lineup announcement party are playing?

explosions aren't as big as sigur ros or mogwai...the latter two would be insane. explosions are great, but they were actually there...what--last year? two years ago? I think this is the most consistently good lineup Sasquatch has ever had and I don't care about the lack of star power...I'm just not sold on Ween. I'll take MMJ headlining and massive attack-pavement is superb but ween-mgmt? really?

yeah i think the lineup is great. i'm completely excited, but Ween is freaking me out too. Pavement was debated, but I think most people had accepted that they would headline. Maybe my experience has been unusual, but I live in the NW and I know tons people who were stoked on Pavement. I don't know anyone that cares about Ween. I'm trying to get into them, but I'm not seeing it...

yeah this is the best thing that is going to happen for another few months. once we know the lineup it just makes going to college or work or whatever much harder. my grades get so bad around sasquatch

at first i thought the same thing as lumpy re. not voting for pavement as a headliner, but a few people have been skeptical that they would actually be a headliner. I don't think there's any question about it, but you can guess whatever you want i guess. as for me, pavement/soundgarden/unknown

it may be stupid to charge, but i would honestly probably pay. it's a valuable opportunity to get some crap you forgot, pound some beers, sneak a couple more in, whatever. good information and frankly a pretty good plan on their part, financially

i already suggested gorillaz and got shot down earlier in the topic, but I'm with you that it would be awesome and would fit. I can't argue with the probability that they'd cost a lot though. Regardless, if Gorillaz are playing more than one show in the US, and not Bonnaroo, where would their other shows be? They'd have to be booked at some big venues/festivals. I maintain that it fits, but isn't likely. I considered that Massive Attack just came out with some new material, but they're such a big deal...I'd put them in a different league than most of the headliners Sasaquatch gets, plus their style has a lack of representation there. I've got no other ideas. I just have to see what happens. If the headliners aren't anything we discussed thoroughly here, I'll be surprised, but it can totally happen

i feel like 2 years ago when the lips headlined nobody knew. at least my friends who always do sasquatch and I had no idea, and I usually keep up to date with consequenceofsound and this board and stuff...
I'm really excited to see what happens

yeah i think those are pretty realistic picks, but this IS the headliner thread so if you don't want to look like a dick, let's hear it! Although it's true--the wait is part of the experience

i guess ben harper did play twice, in only slightly different forms...I totally (without regret) forgot about him/them. NIN was a "co-headliner" last time but I think playing after Jane's Addiction was what caused me to forget.
I also like the Strokes pick, but I don't know how likely it would be. I've asked a few people how they felt about a Strokes possibility this year, but they all tell me they aren't headliner caliber. I'm not sure I agree. Aren't they headlining some crap in the UK?

i've heard lots of suggestions regarding the beastie boys, but I pointed out in the older topic that sasquatch has never re-used a headliner in its history. It doesn't mean they won't do it, but it's a factor worth considering...

the Black Keys were mentioned earlier, which would be great. I don't know that it makes them any more or less likely, but they are actually playing Wakarusa in the midwest before Bonnaroo. It remains that they have a huge gap in their dates, but they aren't really moving around enough to indicate they'll play anywhere on the west coast. They do seem to be targeting festivals though...
