I'd add Deerhoof and Cornelius to the discussion. They just added tour dates................
5-08 Mexico City, Mexico - Lunario 05-09 Guadalajara, Mexico - Festival De Mayo 05-12 San Francisco, California - The Fillmore 05-13 Santa Cruz, California - Rio Theater 05-14 Los Angeles, California - Mayan Theater 05-16 Pomona, California - The Glasshouse

What about Cursive? No one's mentioned them....... New CD out in March, then they have a short tour (skipping the NW) following its release. I'd love to see them at Sasquatch! I'm really surprised there are no rock solid rumors at this point for big names besides Kings of Leon, and not much else. Sasquatch! is a big mystery this year, and I kinda like that.

Ok, hopefully i do not get flamed for my first comment of the year. I would think that Eagles of Death Metal would be touring festivals during the summer. Are they not Indie enough for these events? Personally i would love to see them I don't know that there is much of a boundary for the type of music at Sasquatch! I would also be pretty pumped if they made an appearance. They'd be fun to see live.

They headlined Glastonbury last year. If you're not familiar with Glasto, it's arguably the biggest music fest in the world next to Roskilde, Coachella, and Bonnaroo. I would put money on them headlining a night, unless they open for a much older, more established band. Except KOL are not as big in the US as they are in the UK. That could be argued. I personally lost a lot of interest in them over the past few years. It seems like they are one of the biggest bands in the US as of late though. I don't really know what kind of response they get in the UK. They obviously must be well-received.................. I was reading a comment someone made earlier about the Kaiser Chiefs being a possibility, and I don't really see it. Kinda on the same topic in regards to response in the US compared to the UK. Kaiser Chiefs are possibly bigger than Jesus over there, but once again, I don't know what the normal reaction to Jesus is in the UK......... Anyways, the point I'm trying to make is that Kaiser Chiefs play enormously huge crowds, and they wouldn't play to many at Sasquatch! It doesn't seem like they'd go out of the way to play at the Gorge, unless they were nearby touring at the time, and even then I don't see it happening. I just don't see them being at Sasquatch!

so sad about the kooks and placebo not being a possibility. Like I said, bands have played Pinkpop and Sasquatch! the same year.............. Placebo and The Kooks are both at Pinkpop, and Placebo have no dates scheduled before Pinkpop. Don't rule them out yet.

I noticed some of these bands are in the line-up for Pinkpop Festival in the Netherlands, which doesn't necessarily rule them out. I know in the past when Pinkpop has followed the week after Sasquatch!, bands have still played at both (The Frames, The Kooks, Jamie Lidell, and I believe a few others).

Yeah, after thinking about it, a dance tent at Sasquatch! wouldn't be all that necessary. Maybe if the venue could hold another 40,000. The gorge is more of an intimate setting and that's why Sasquatch! is so different compared to Coachella and Bonnaroo. You can get a great view of any artist you check out there. Plus, why have a tent obscuring your view of the Gorge, it's beautiful!!! All I'd really like to see is a line-up with a lot of variety, and well scheduled set-times.

A couple local bands from Portland that might be able to fill out the Yeti stage: As for the dance tent, I do not think it will happen. If you want to catch electronic/dance music, you can at most of the other larger festivals. Electronic/Dance music tend to draw a younger, less intelligent crowd, one thing that makes the Coachella board so unbearable. Right........ Because that was a fair and intelligent statement.

If Grizzly Bear and Animal Collective are there I will lose my mind. Also, the whole four day thing is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of. That will never happen.

I'd love to see BoH again. In 06' they had a lot of technical difficulties because of the rain, and they still put on a great show. I think they have a new album out this year, and they have Seattle roots. So, I don't see why there wouldn't be a good chance of them being there.......... Agreed, a dance tent doesn't have to happen, but I can't stop thinking about it. I just think it's pointless for them to shovel out effort every year on things like a movie tent or a comedy tent, or a video game tent. When they could just make another area for live music (It is a MUSIC FESTIVAL)........... In the end, I don't care if I'm in a tent, on a hill, or in a field. As long as there's good music.

I think Morrisey is touring Europe during Sasquatch!. So, he's a no go. In regards to the dance tent, for it to be legit, it would have to be a pretty big tent. I'm going on my 4th Sasquatch!, and about my 10th time at the Gorge, and I don't know of any area that would be big enough to hold a big-ass tent like that......... Could someone enlighten me?

Haha, I have no idea who AAR are, but I'd imagine if they are suggested next to Jimmy Eat World, I'd probably pass. Sorry, just not really Sasquatch friendly music, in my opinion. I really feel like a lot of first timer bands should be there this year though. It seems like a lot of stuff is getting to be a bit repetitive at Sasquatch! Although, I have no problem with Ghostland playing a closing set. That would be a large dance party/light show I could deal with........ I'm really hoping for a good amount of electronic/dance music this year. I just wanna dance!

I'm already set on going (even if the lineup isn't stellar, it's worth it just to camp with thousands of awesome people), but if there had to be 3 bands to convince me of going.........
Radiohead (Cliche' yes, but every time I've attempted to see them in the past five years, it hasn't worked out for some odd reason) Grizzly Bear (Just saw Department of Eagles, and it made me really eager to see these guys live. It would be a perfect band to sit on the hill and , well..... get really high to, I guess) The Rapture (Biggest dance party I've ever been a part of, was when these guys were playing in the tent at Coachella in 2007)

I don't know why, but King Khan and the Shrines seem to fit the Sasquatch! mold perfectly........ Not really sure about touring schedules in May yet, but some other bands I'd love to see are Grizzly Bear (Their new material is amazing) Fleet Foxes (Great set last year) Late Of The Pier (New band w/ lots of possible touring) Champagne Champagne (Seattle Indie/Hip-Hop group) Tom Vek M83 Wolf Parade Friendly Fires Animal Collective (Merriweather is one of the best albums I've ever heard) Mute Math (Not sure if they're working on anything new, but they are awesome live) Tapes n' Tapes Menomena Born Ruffians The Rapture
Also, for headliners I'm guessing they might try to get artists that Coachella and Bonarroo aren't having headline. I'm not a big fan of the whole Weezer/Oasis combo, but if Weezer play a Pinkerton and Blue album heavy set-list, I might forgive them for the past 9 years of terrible music. Some other names I'll guess on are My Morning Jacket A Tribe Called Quest Radiohead (I really think this could be the year........... and I say that every year about this time) Kings of Leon (No offense to the 'Quatch, but if they headlined Glastonbury. I doubt they'd be an opening act) Morrisey The Arcade Fire (Sasquatch! people seem to like them a lot) Coldplay (I wouldn't root for it, but it wouldn't surprise me) Gnarls Barkley (Never played the Gorge to my knowledge) Sigur Ros TV On The Radio Yeah Yeah Yeah's (Might be big enough to be a day one headliner) Jay-Z (Just a weird hunch)

No offense, but hearing people throw around names like 311, Pepper, No Doubt, and Guns n' Roses scares the living bejesus out of me. I'm not sure if I'm alone on this, but past bands like these (ex. Ozomotli) seem to bring a lot of people that only go to see one band, and attempt to make the festival a hell-hole for the rest of us.

I'm about 99.2 percent sure Coachella gives out the line-up on Monday. It's a week earlier this year, and if they don't announce it next week. That'll be the longest they've waited to announce it.......... I'm praying for Bowie and Wolf Parade.
