I must be the only person on the internet who thought the album was forgettable and mostly boring. Sigh. Oh wait, I found one FB friend who agrees, so now there are 2 of us on the entire internet who think it's boring.

I'm a mixed bag of emotions right now.
On one hand I'm kind of disappointed. It's not what I expected at all. They didn't really re-invent the wheel which is what it was getting hyped up as. I was also hoping for something more danceable after the Tron soundtrack.
On the other hand I'm pleasantly surprised. I love the hell out of it because its way off of what I expected. These guys have huge brass balls to put out an album like this. The production level is incredible. There are a lot if songs I want to make babies to. Niles Rodgers is the shit. Touch is a song that tears me appart.... I feel like I should hate that song, but something about it pulls me back in. I'm probably going to like it the more I hear it. The first time I listened to the album was on the grooveshark link on my phone, the songs were out of order, and I was at work so I was constantly being interrupted. Just listened to it all of the way through on my stereo in proper order and it was wayyyyyyy better. When I get my hands on my vinyl copy I'm going to get really stoned, open a bottle of wine, and really dig into this album more.

So it's with great sadness for me to say that Obie, Rachelle and Fish Magish will be unable to attend Sasquatch this year. Even though we secured enough funds to get them wristbands it's still a little bit too much, too soon for them to attend. They were absolutely blown away by the gesture shown by everyone and wanted to thank everyone from the bottom of their hearts. My girlfriend who started the fundraising is out of town working for the next few days, but she'll be using the refund option to get everyone's money back as soon as she gets home. If there is any kind of fee for returning your money and it doesn't refund you the full ammount, just let me know so I can refund you the proper amount.
As a side note.... If there is anyone reading this who happens to be driving to Sasquatch from California and can stop in Chico to pick up Fish Magician, you will be handsomely rewarded for your efforts.

Haha and for more clarification. Obie and Rachelle were my camp neighbours from Coachella last year. That year the gf and I found this plaster Halloween cat with a wizard hat in a thrift shop in Palm Springs. He was named Fish Magician because of the treblehoney incident, and was out camp mascot. Obie and Rachelle took him home rather than us having to leave him or fly him back with us. They brought him back to Coachella this year and hopefully he will make an appearance at Sasquatch. More importantly we hope you get to meet Obie and Rachelle.
