Yeah the Decemberists are pop rock. I hear they're touring with All Time Low next month.
/sarcasm
Animal Collective should've been in the dance tent or Wookie(? second stage just drew a blank). Most people at the main stage were there for Kings of Leon, not even the Decemberists. Do you know how many people complained about the Decemberists? Most of that crowd. Everyone wanted to hear their singles and they played, in my opinion, one of the best albums of last year. A LOT of people hate the Decemberists compared to the amount that like them.
But same goes for Animal Collective, when you pull a Mars Volta and do a 20 minute version of one song, not many people are going to be pleased. Also, here's the AMAZING thing about Animal Collective fans; they're the physical manifestation of Pitchfork and say no one "gets" it.
Maybe you don't "get" Hazards of Love since we're making assumptions. Maybe you don't "get" story telling in music. Just assuming since apparently people don't "get" Animal Collective.

I'd love most of your list, but that's also because I love punk. I saw X in Portland in 08, they put on a hell of a show. Germs would be cool if Shane West knocks off the acting, I hear he does a hell of a good job singing. Fucked Up would be a dream come true. I love that band, Chemisty of a Common Life is my favorite record from 08 and I've been hoping to see them for a long time.
I think Mike Watt is heading out with the Stooges, which would be amazing to see.
I'm hoping for Faith No More also, but from what I've heard they're aiming for a west coast tour in April, but who really knows. Mike Patton says it isn't happening. But he's a notorious liar because he likes to throw people off of his plans.

Sasquatch does cater to outside of Seattle also. They're aware of the amount of people from Spokane, Idaho, Canada, and Montana that come in. They also know what plays those areas, Yeasayer is not. So I wouldn't throw them out the window. "Thank you Seattle!!" -Perry Farrell, Sasquatch 09, repeated 12 times. Cool, quoting Perry Farrell, cause he's the master of geography and he books Sasquatch right? Reznor thanked the crowd, sasquatch, and The Gorge. I'll take the man who kicked drugs and seems to have a good grip on the world than this guy: Also I'll take into account the people I know at Live Nation who even say they book for the Northwest, not just Seattle. Seattle gets pretty much all of these acts at some point individually. Compare Seattle/Portland/Vancouver with central/eastern WA, the rest of Canada that join in the fun, Montana, Idaho, eastern Oregon. I've been told the crowd is typically about 50/50 split for mjr nw metro citizens and the rest of the northwest. In case you were wondering, yes, Live Nation does know where each and every person in attendance is from; and yes, they do care because that means they can make easier money.

Has anyone ever stayed here? My brother, a friend, and I are not interested in Gorge camping after last year. We always took premier camping and last year was kind of a raw deal unless you were up at like 5 am. So, just wondering, if anyone has stayed there, opinions?

I said you're underestimating the list because the booking for sasquatch is usually pretty simple. If they are playing Seattle within a month or two of Sasquatch, it's really unlikely they will be there. For example, Yeasayers is playing on April 20th and I will be incredibly surprised if they come back a month later for sasquatch Sasquatch does cater to outside of Seattle also. They're aware of the amount of people from Spokane, Idaho, Canada, and Montana that come in. They also know what plays those areas, Yeasayer is not. So I wouldn't throw them out the window.

If all 4 of who you suggested came this year, I may never return to Sasquatch on the assumption it couldn't get better after that. Only thing that could is Springsteen, Nick Cave, and for shits and giggles the Misfits re-united. Wasn't Danzig just doing a few Misfits songs? He reemerges with Doyle every now and then and they play a few. The "American Psycho" era got back together sans Jerry Only at a Danzig show I guess. I don't see how Danzig couldn't do a full Misfits type set anyway, as much as I love the Misfits, not complicated music. Plus it's still much better than 85% of his material as Danzig. if Jerry Only really got how much money could be made off of a Misfits reunion, he would probably do it. But he's so dumb he thinks the Misfits now are the same thing. If Danzig, Only, Doyle, and Dr. Chud played, I would pay the amount for a Sasquatch weekend for that, that's how amazingly unlikely it is.

They DO have what seems to be Pavement's first North American appearance of the reunion. Maybe that helps? (I mean I almost bought a 3-day pass because of it) Except if Pavement was a big selling point, wouldn't they not have had to extend the presale?

I don't think they are at the moment, they for sure will in the future. But just wondering; why would you buy a ticket to a show you have no clue who's playing on? If that is in fact what you want to do.

I'll wait until they extend it through the first weekend the line up is announced. They aren't going to sell a lot until that date. This isn't Glastonbury.

Well i do not think there was much more i could do to stress how much they need more showers. I emailed them a LONG email about the issues i encountered (along with what they had posted on the site and what actually was available in premier camping last year), plus i talked to the dude for like 30 mins on the phone. He asked me what i wanted in return...i told him to just make sure that premier camping was what it should be...when he reassured me that it would be...he asked what else...and threw in a couple of free campsites. So i hope it wasnt all just blowing smoke up my a** and he actually gets it done. Just wondering, who did you talk to? I know people at live nation and I can tell you whether any of this is guaranteed or not.

Premium is typically if you want some sort of quiet at night, possible showers, and working toilets. Although by day 3, you can usually forget this. It's worth it if that's what you care for. I don't believe the Gorge allows you to take alcohol in, they do bag checks, because they see it as taking away from their huge money maker.
You aren't of age, so you can be kicked out and/or turned over to the police if caught with it. But that's up to the person catching you and whether or not they decide to just turn the other way. But they do watch for wristbands and I have seen people get thrown out.
I will note this, why is it people have to be on some substance to enjoy a concert? There's a reason Live Nation jacks up prices for alcohol. Not just to make money, but to ween people off the idea. I went to Metallica at Key Arena last year, no alcohol was sold. NO PROBLEMS. Imagine that. It was a test run for the future according to a friend who talked to the manager from the arena at a concert industry event this year. Believe it or not, venues don't like having to baby sit a bunch of drunk assholes.

Just announced: www.grammy.com/grammy_awards/52nd_show/list.aspxThoughts? MGMT and Silversun got 'Best New Artist' nominations. I'll be pleased if either wins. Slayer is up for metal again and will probably win like every time. I'd prefer Lamb of God but I can't vote. Although this is like raging hard on, sorry to be that graphic but it's true. Best Alternative Music Album (Vocal or Instrumental.) Everything That Happens Will Happen Today David Byrne & Brian Eno [Yep Roc Records] The Open Door Death Cab For Cutie [Atlantic] Sounds Of The Universe Depeche Mode [Capitol] Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix Phoenix [Loyaute/Glassnote Records] It's Blitz! Yeah Yeah Yeahs [DGC Records/Interscope] I don't care who wins, that's awesome.

It's a company here in Montana, but I can't say much. It's business stuff. They've made quite a few people angry let's say.

I preferred the old Yeti stage also. This VIP business this year was silly to me. I wouldn't expect that same Wookie stage next year btw. The people who own that are kind of....dicks. So....

We stood by where we were told buses would be the first day to get in, they kept pushing the time by 30 minutes to and hour every fucking time. They had mis informed staff and it was really annoying. Plus the fact that the buses drop off at the main gate now instead of taking you into the venue. Premier camping was supposed to make everything easier, or that's what it's marketed as. When the only thing "easier" is sleeping, bullshit. I didn't sleep easier. We had the Canadians who could "see the pain" in the singer of Kings of Leon's eyes. In 08 staff came and shut people down at a certain time, didn't happen this year. Hotel.

Except premiere camping sucked balls last year. It was essentially normal camping with showers. So I'm actually planning for hotel this upcoming year.

So I got an email from a LiveNation rep about their VIP package and I told the guy I really didn't like 2 of the 3 headliners and I'd never heard of Kings of Leon. his reply the hard sell but honest to god, I still have no idea who they are. Honestly, LiveNation wouldn't put them in a headlining spot if they didn't think they could sell. It's not like it's a retarded company running this.
