The real question is, what are all these bands going to do for the week in between? It almost seems like there will be a mini Coachella around Cali as all the bands try to fill out their week with other shows. I book bands for my school in San Diego. I can say that for us, we're super excited about the two week thing because we're going to try to book as many bands as possible in the time between. I imagine all the venues in the area will be doing the same.

Oh man, these guys played at my school last year but I had no idea who they were. I liked their set and then promptly forgot about them.
I'm glad we're doing this.
Thanks for the link, Rust

They want like $150 for Bon Iver tickets in Vancouver, that sounds a little rich for me, what are they charging else where? Yup. They started $35 but ended up being like $47 with fees. I paid $94 for 2 tickets.

Seeing Bon Iver in San Diego!
Orchestra tickets sold out within 1 minute. I'm calling shenanigans. But I got 2 balcony seats and that's good enough for me!
I would kill for an outdoor venue, though.

Any good American eats more burgers and hot dogs than they should. Pizza isn't American enough. Unless it's a meatlovers, of course.

Bassnectar is playing on my campus in September! Now I just need to decide if I buy my ticket now or wait for people to be selling them the couple days before.
So excited!

gotcha. But please excuse me for a minute here. Steve Gadd is a giant among men and if he wants to play his drums with brushes, he can play his drums with brushes. I'll be God-damned if I'm gonna sit by and let you talk down about him. Haha. Just kidding. kinda. I hear you with those overprocessed keyboards but I still count "Still Crazy" among his best albums. To be fair, I guess I haven't given "Surprise" a fair shake. Maybe that will be next. And like I said, I'm really digging "So Beautiful or so What." Wait. Steve Gadd didn't die did he? He's one of my favorite drummers of all time and he sexually signed my crash cymbal. Don't worry. According to wikipedia he's still alive and kickdrumming. (I know nothing about drums and so do not know if that pun actually works)

I'm stunned that people objected so strongly to Iron & Wine's Sasquatch set. I thought they sounded fucking fantastic. I agree. Normally I'm more into conventional music structure. So jamming and that kind is not my thing. But I love Iron and Wine and I thought everything that they played was just beautiful.

Yeah, apparently it's the new cool music thing.
I don't know if anyone follows music business blogs but Bob Lefsetz has a post that talks about and explains it. It's still invite only, though

I love you so much right now. I'm going to NY on Saturday and needed recommendations for food in Brooklyn. That sounds like the best thing ever. Where is this place? I can't seem to find it on google

I was on the balcony actually. Everyone under 21 had to go up there I hate it when they do that. I was stuck seeing the Dodos in the balcony at the Aladdin where no one else was dancing. I learned to start taking a fake to the all ages shows as well.
