So the best thing ever just happened to me. I just found out that the prof at the school in Toronto I was interviewing at Monday is going to forward my name to be admitted to the program there. So if I want, I will start graduate studies in September and in 6-7 years have a masters and a PhD and be a friggen psychologist. And then I also have a sort-of offer at the school in Montreal but I'll find out for sure on that one in a couple of weeks. So I may have the option of moving to Montreal OR Toronto to do exactly what I want to do and become exactly what I want to become. Way to go!!! Your hard work pays off!

Whenever I work I always have my ipod playing through the speakers with a mix of the most normal of my weird music. Most of the patrons who notice the music don't have anything nice to say about it, but everyone I work with seems to like it, so I don't care. It's always been my fantasy that someone (anyone really) recognizes the artists or songs and wants to talk to me about it.
Today, a guy came in and was so excited that I was playing Bjork. He said that his friend in Calgary helped build some of the set (or possibly instruments) for the Volta tour. I didn't have much time to talk to him, but he's at the pool a lot and he also knew Animal Collective, Baths, and Boards of Canada. I can't even explain how big of a deal this is for me. Most people that I interact with on a daily basis are exclusively country fans. I love your personal life. This is nice to hear. You should ask him to hang out or go to a show.

...if that's okay, dearest. Yeah. You raise the money and have a great time while I partake in the hookers and blow here. I won't even have to travel that way.

Peeing on the side of the road is where it is at. When I lived in Florida and we were roadtripping up to Tampa, the rule was that if you had to pee it would have to be pulled over on the side of the road.

Apparently super last minute I'm playing SXSW this year if anyone's around (and so I can fit my annoying "Lump brags about dumb shit" posts into 1, apparently I'm opening for Band of Horses in May). Somebody help me Dr. Garbanzoure out how to not die. I'm kinda stressed about this. Lumpy, you are the one not bragging about dumb shit. That is amazing and you are amazing.

Haha even the Residents hate the Hawethorne. Seriously. I haven't been there in years because I basically swore I'd never be back. It's one of three venues in town I can't walk to, so when I tried to f.igure out how to get there on the bus, the public transit website couldn't recognize the destination because the address on their website is wrong. I wandered around downtown looking for a bus to get there for an hour. I almost missed the beginning of the show. One of many reasons I hated that place is because they used to have two bathrooms, but closed the bathroom to the right of the main stage several years ago. That left one men's room located near the ticket stand, with 1.5 toilets. It was always an enormous cluster fuck, because everyone else was trying to enter at the same location. I've waited 20 minutes to take a leak before. To their credit, they now have three toilets, so the line is less of a cluster. I still hate that venue. They should update their website with the correct address. Agreed. The Hawthorne is a shit hole. It is embarrassing that they associate that place with my city. It would have been rad if they played the Holocene or some other small venue.

Every time I hear Tame Impala I think of this clip, because every Wolfmother is every Tame Impala, and Patton knows what's up. This is amazing.
