And by no doubt, I mean I doubt it

Well I will say this for the Coachella board. They have that rumor mill running day and night. Perhaps it's because they don't have firm lineup release date or that their forums are just buzzing with board junkies that never seem to step away from their computers. Whatever the case, I do like to have a good glimpse of what to expect.

Coachella is a great time. If you have a ticket and lodging locked, I would probably go if I was you. Your first time will be amazing.... having said that, the crowd there has gotten worse and worse over the last few years. Last year was the culmination of all the douchery that has been leaking in over time. I fear, like many others that are skipping this year, that Coachella has hit this peak and it's time to start looking for greener pastures.
If the crowd is an important factor for you, the general consensus is Sasquatch beats the hell out of Chella. Lineup wise, Chella wins hands down. Ok.

Well they can't be playing Saturday, that's for sure. I don't even want to guess at the mighty leap of logic this post required. I can't tell if there is sarcasm in this... God damn internet

That link says Friday. Is it possible that Arcade Fire will sub headline on Friday? What does that make Coachella, Sasquatch bitch?

I'm just having to readjust my mind set to this. I will camp the first year because, well, I'm not a pussy. Bring it on!

Bad = no problem. I have stayed at some reeeeeal shit holes. But I'm convinced. Camping this year. If I hate it, than I will know not to do it next time.
Thing is, it's not that I don't like camping (I grew up in Oregon for Gods sake). It's the noise and lack of sleep that will get you....

Yeah, I think it's going to be a great experience. Now it's a matter of convincing people to make it up here for this. If nothing else I guess I'll just hit this up solo style.
Thanks for the link too.

It's not unheard of, it's just largely impractical. The hotels are something like a 45 minute drive away, and there aren't many of them. Additionally, this year's Sasquatch ticket comes with your camping pass included in the price. So, you buy Sasquatch admission, you buy camping. There have been mixed reviews with a tendency toward the positive. Also, camping is "part of the experience" and blah blah blah. I'll let other posters address this point. Yeah.. now that I've actually figured that out, it does seem like a "You're not camping? Why?" situation. I guess I'm just use to going back to the nice comfy beds with showers that don't have lines.

So after reading some threads on here, it appears that camping at Sasquatch is the norm. At Coachella there is a heavy devision b/w the groups of hotels and camping. Am I correct in thinking that this is not the case at Sasquatch? Is staying at a hotel just unheard of?

They are so tightly wound on there. They self police the forums like the fucking gestapo. They are worst elitist too.
*sighs breath of relief*

Gotcha. I rarely, on any board, start threads, so no worries on that. It's just that it was such a major decision for me and my crew to abandon our annual Coachella pilgrimage that I felt I needed to commit to this new board.
But thanks for the warm welcomings! Jezz, I should have bounced from that hate filled board forever ago.

I can only hope that they are booked for Sasquatch as I have decided not to go to Chella this year.

Well I'll tell you what. Just reading post around this board I can tell you right away, people seem a lot, and I mean a lot, nicer on here than there. That's not to say that a board completely represents the festival itself, but I do think it somewhat shows the mentality of the types of people that attend.
I am really glad to hear that Sasquatch has stepped up there edm bookings. Although I am not expecting the heavy duty gets that Golden Voice does, it's nice to see that I won't have severe whiplash between the two events.
Edit: I should state that I love Coachella. I think it's an amazing festival on a great piece of land. Yes, it can be hotter than hell but by the time the sun is starting to set, it becomes perfect. They also (as you guys are well aware of) tend to get the best lineups year in and year out. But lineups aren't everything...

I have been a devout Coachella attendee for many years. However things have changed. Coachella looks on track to be a even bigger over crowded affair than last year. All camping is sold out.... in less than 6 hours.
It is because of this and the overall decline in quality of the fest (lineup and vibe) that I'm giving my money to Sasquatch this year. Hence the new account. So am wondering, are there any fellow defectors on here and what are your opinions on this matter. I'm really looking forward to the transition though. The Gorge looks fucking AMAZING!
Plus, 4 days > 3 days
(although, Coachella has got some STELLAR edm acts this year... especially on sunday)
