I love top 10 lists! Every band but one will be my first. 1. Foo Fighters 2. Bassnectar 3. Sleigh Bells 4. DBA1979 5. The Decemberists 6. Chromeo 7. Flaming Lips 8. Major Lazer
Until I do more research and listening these are the only must see performances.

Arcade Fire could've given a better performance at the Grammys/ For alot of the people who didn't know AF prior, I don't think that performance sent many people racing to find out more.

Yah. Pretty cool seeing the Board take over facebook. That is the single greatest post in the history of the Sasquatch FB.

Mkay here goes. Deep down inside I'm holding onto a tiny vestige of hope that Devil Makes Three or the Black Angels will be added.

"I'm gonna be up front for them, and I don't care what the fuck happens, I'm gonna catch one of Sebastien's drumsticks. I WILL."
Good luck to you sir. I caught a Vinnie Paul drumstick in a vicious Pantera mosh pit during the Extreme Steel Tour. I fought and bled for that stick.
I don't want to regurgitate everything that's already been said, but I wanna throw my 2 cents in. First off on the headliners, well we know how I feel, BUT I've come around and I'm amping up for what IS there, not lamenting over whats NOT there. Still can't get past MM, DCFC, and Wilco, however it is what it is. I'm hoping that MM will kill it with their older, more quality music but I will not count on it.
"My friends either like it or not, within the first 30 seconds of the first track, they do not believe in growers."
That's absurd. I've always felt like the best tracks on any particular CD don't hit until track 3 or 4. Too bad for them man, but I know plenty of folks who are the same way.
I've had alot of people tell me they can't believe I'll be going all that way and spending all that money, etc for THAT lineup. These are people who have never experienced the wonder of the Gorge and/or Sasquatch. Whats REALLY funny is that all the first timers that I've convinced to grab a ticket and come with this year were totally stoked about the lineup.
I know I don't travel the farthest to get there, but I do travel 18+ hours to get there and I have a ton of responsibilties back home with a wife, 3 kids, mortgage, my own business, and other community involvement. It all goes on hold for Sasquatch every time I go. Its what keeps me sane. I can be utterly FREE for 5 days. Nobody to answer to, no asses to wipe but my own. Its the only time of the year I get to experience that feeling for more than an hour at a time. Fuck I can't even take a shit in my own house without being disrupted.
Some people go to Vegas or Disneyland or Hawaii....I go to the Gorge and I cherish every last fucking second that I'm there.

Yeah, I know Switch I was actually just looking at that now. I totally stand corrected, however, those tracks were indeed a rare treat throughout the 10,000 days tour. I can be a hyperbole machine sometimes. That is a kickass website by the way, thanks for sharing it. I'll be geekin out on it all day now.

Judge me accordingly but after the birth of my children that show may have been the greatest day of my life.

"Just out of curiousity, what was so different about their show in '06 aside from it being at the Gorge? I saw them in '09 for the first time headlining an outdoor festival in SoCal and again last year at the Key Arena. Both were badass... But apart from one being inside, the experience wasn't really different"
Well, Danny Carey uses black magic and incantations on his drumset. Sorcerers have more power near water so for obvious reasons his powers were amplified for the Gorge performance. The energy in the air at that show was palpable.
The other big deal was that they played Opiate and Sober. They hadn't often included those songs in their setlists since 2001-2002. I'm 98% certain that was the only show they played those songs throughout the entirety of the 10,000 days tour. So that was a very special treat. Opiate was also extended to almost double its CD length. Many of the shows during their tour had 2-3 less songs that we got at the Gorge. Additionally they didn't close maaaany of their shows with Aenima as an encore.
"Let's just all agree that Tool is fucking amazing."
I've never agreed more with any statement I've read on this board.

Ya know peatrick, why the need to be a smartass? I've never seen alot of the bands playing and I enjoy seeing a concert that incorporates a great light show, is it bad that im curious? Jeez. If you know whether the headliners have such then say so.
Yes fox that show was so good. opiate and sober live were a real treat, they hadn't played either of those live in years. That was also the only show they played those songs during that tour. I know alot of people who count that as their best tool show and best gorge show.

Personally im not going to hold it against anyone who hasn't been there and isn't familar with sasquatch. I was drawn there for the first time by the music. I had never heard of sasquatch or the gorge when I was visiting my cousin in 2006(I think). I looked for concerts happening in the area lo and behold, NIN, one of my favorite bands was playing at sasquatch. That was all I needed. Straight up bought a ticket and fell in love. I actually have goosepoops right now just thinking of it. That show was so godamn epic. I've now been back 4 additional times and my stories inspired dozens of people from back home to see for themselves what this incredible experience is about. I still can't believe Janes Addiction headlined above NIN. That electric light fence nin had blew my mind and then I saw Tool there 3 months later that was the best fucking show of my life. I can only hope that some of the bands playing this year have light shows that compare. Does anyone know if any of them do?

Its definetly as much if not more about the atmosphere and setting than the music. I also purchased my ticket when only foo were confirmed. As far as other gems...check out Sleigh Bells. If you have never been to the Gorge then stop thinking, buy your ticket, and start planning. There are not words beautiful enough to describe the feeling you get when you over the hill and see the concert area for the first time. Its awe inspiring. I can't wait to see it again. Its been two years

Do the math. Going to each of those bands seperately is definetly going to cost way more than the four day wristband. Especially with gas, hotel accomodations, etc.

Fuckin canadians. They can be fun. In 2009 we were next to a huge group of them and like most canadians I've met they were die hard wrestling fans. My best friend revealed to them that I'm a ring announcer and I was subsequently forced into introducing them all ring announcer style. It was funny because they all had their own fake wrestling names, weight, etc. The full monty. Pretty entertaining stuff. I swear that one of them was really John Favreau moonlighting as a drunken canadian wrestling fan. Ooo Sasquatch memories.

Which also means I missed the Decemberists who I've really come to like. Live and learn I guess. I did see the youtube video. Zach G was worth it though, I'll get to see the Decemberists this year.
Also the fact that the comedians were in a seperate building by the beer gardens explains why I missed Sara Silverman that one year. 2006 I think?
It also strikes me as odd that the Trailer Park Boys are a comedy act this year. Its tough to imagine how they will translate to stand up. Were they doing stand up prior to being a tv show/movie?
