I played Mortal Kombat for a portion of the day yesterday if anyone and I mean anyone has ever liked a Mortal Kombat you will love this. The variety of gameplay options and features is incredible. I haven't dabbled with the online yet but based simply on gameplay, graphics, features, and character list this is the best MK ever made.
However as soon as I popped in Bulletstorm to play the Gears of War 3 beta it was all over. I was never a fan of Gears multiplayer. I wanted to like it because I LOVE the co op campaign and horde mode, but no matter how many times I tried I couldn't enjoy it not only because their matchmaking/lobby system was atrocious the weapons were totally imbalanced. In addition to adding tons of unique executions, the weapons are totally balanced now, matchmaking was completely overhauled, physics and graphics improved. I love it. That was night 1, we'll see how a second experience goes.

2006 - What in the nine lower hells is a rizzla and do YOU have anything to throw in on it? Get the fuck out of this camp Erock you wierdo.
2006(Tool Concert) - Greatest experience of my life. IF TOOL PLAYS THE GORGE AGAIN DONT FUCKING MISS FOR ANYTHING. SERIOUSLY.
2007 - Never trust giant, cool looking campsites with a glowing green light. If confronted with imprisonment when you're innocent thumb the stranger next to you.
2009 - Overflow/parking lot camping sucks. Never showing up late again. Momma Cookie is a nice lady with yummy treats.

Of course joints aren't drugs nor an enhancer although I think they can amplify the enhanced experience. This Sasquatch will be my first 'trip' in 5 years.

There must be others on this board who've read this. A Song of Ice and Fire by George RR Martin is the best fantasy series I've read, probably the best ever written. It transcends the genre, but alas everything must be classified somewhere.
On Sunday a dream comes true as Game of Thrones will make its television debut on HBO. Its sure to be a landmark event as Game of Thrones will be the most talked about new series of the year. Here's a really exciting quote I from a review for the series..
I know there are fans of HBO programming on this board so hopefully a few of you will be watching, but i'd like to encourage everyone else to give this series a shot. If you don't like fantasy do not let that dissuade you from watching this as it is not restricted by the stereotypes of the genre. Season reviews are available and there is already an emmy buzz for Peter Dinklage. My second born son shares his character's name, Tyrian. Although in the book its spelled Tyrion.
Something important to note is that Game of Thrones is the most HBO has EVER invested in a series, by a landslide. Take an hour on Sunday night and try to catch it, I promise you will thank me later!

A+
I wish I didn't even have to phone home to my wife and kids during my time at the Gorge.
My kids play soccer and soccer parents aren't stuck up assohles like most hockey parents.
Ultimately I'm shocked, disgusted, and offended at the very idea that someone would leave Sasquatch to go watch a soccer game. If you were my friend I'd punch you, no offense.

Although my experiences are many(mostly in my youth), the last time I had anything powerful was at Tool at the Gorge in 2006 and that was the best concert of my life. I could go on and on about all the unique and amazing things about that day/night.
I'll have lots of joints. Concert doobies are a must.

When I die one of the moments that will stand out was my first departure from a Sasquatch show in 2006 after NIN. The weaving snake of humanity....

Everyone in my group has high hopes for Modest Mouse. I'm keeping expectations in check. I'm not going to get too deep in case you're right I want a quick out to something better.

Do alot of you all do this? Its all a matter of personal preference, but I've always felt it better to catch 1 band in their entirety. Unless of course its something shitty like Ben Harper and i'm forced to find an alternative. I've been asking myself if I have the willpower to split sets this year or not.

Yeah I'm eagerly anticipating the schedule release. Modest Mouse better be worth missing MSTRKRFT for if thats the way it goes down. I don't plan on watching a moment of the DCFC show and I'll definetly skip Wilco for Major Lazer.

www.metacritic.com/browse/games/release-date/new-releases/ps3/metascoreIt pains me not at all to recognize the best reviewed PS3 game of the year so far is Mass Effect 2. Dude, you really should finish that last Ratchet & Clank game. I wish these games were not exclusive. Insomniac Studios deserves more recognition for these games, unfortunately its hard to get any love in this generation when you're not a shooter. At least they still give me a reason to fire up the ps3 once in awhile.

1st of all. This is my kind of topic! Video Games are what I do for a living. Prior to their bankruptcy I was general manager of a Hollywood Video/Gamecrazy. Video Games are a passion for me. I play most of them, organize tournaments and gaming events and this summer will debut a competitive Video Game League. Exciting shit! I have a locally owned and operated game store now, kiosk technically, while my full store is under construction. It opens in May and its going to be extraordinary. Since I've gone through 18 pages of stuff I'll break it down as I go through.
Dead Space 2. Loved every minute of it, all the new weapon additions were great. Basically improved upon every aspect of the 1st game, zero gravity in particular got an amazing make over. Maintained its creepiness/scare factor, diversified the enemies and bosses. The storytellng was light years ahead of the first. I can't wait to see what Visceral Studios puts forth next, they're 3 for 3.
Fallout Vegas - Played about 80% of it, never finished before trading it in. Fallout 3 was better. Overall good game though.
WoW - I played this for a month 2 years ago when there was nothing new or good to play on my 360 or ps3. Having spent 5 years grinding away through Everquest as a teenager. I'm more of a console player at this point so WoW couldn't hold my interest.
I dont play anything on the Wii.
Conker! Who doesn't love Conker. It's one of the best sellers at my store on n64.
In a world where Adventures of Link is the only other Zelda game in existence this would be a true statement.
I don't know if you've grabbed it yet and in case you're unaware Mass Effect 2 is currently the pinnacle of gaming. No really. Pinnacle. Of. Gaming. Really the culmination of one of only a handful of developers with a sterling record of high quality games. Nobody delivers characters and story as well as Bioware.
So fun, great character list. I've ran 4 tournaments on this game since it came out and we've had a different winner at each event. I love fighting games my favorite being Soul Calibur 4.
Also if you don't like the PS3 controller you can purchase a converter that allows use of a wired 360 controller on your ps3.
I despise everything about Call of Duty....but I'll play some zombies with ya. Really though I do hate CoD. It'll never cease to amaze me how so many people put on a pedestal an inferior product. I guess its like that in almost every entertainment medium though. The real good shit is usually not the real popular shit.
I hate to break it to everybody but Dead Island is not going to be a good video game. The cinematic trailer is definetly one of the best trailers ever, but the game is going to bust.
?
I don't recomend getting one personally. Unless you have some sort of obsession with 3D - I'd stay away.
I hope all of you PS3 die harders have played Uncharted 2 as its one of the best singe player action games you'll ever experience. It's a crying shame how many ps3 fanboys come into my store who havent played that. I just want to slap them.
The Ratchet and Clank games (ps3 only) are so far ahead of the game in next generation platforming that they've basically created their own new sport out of it. Or if other games are in the same sport, they're somewhere below the minor league which is 3 steps below where Ratchet and Clank are.
Beyond that I'm all about my xbox 360. I play most of the AAA titles and a handful of the rest. I don't play many sports games any more, I used to love Madden so I can definetly say that going for it on 4th down is a fucking god awful dick move.

Also, "Oasis/Beatles vibe", Ha ha! (Sorry, but Ha ha!)
Am I off my rocker with that? I haven't listened to their entire body of work but thats the vibe I get from what I have heard. I've played them for quite a few friends and alot of people say they remind them of Oasis. Its not an opinion that I'm going to argue/defend heavily, like I said its just the feeling I got.

I love top 10 lists! Every band but one will be my first. 1. Foo Fighters 2. Bassnectar 3. Sleigh Bells 4. DFA1979 5. The Decemberists 6. Chromeo 7. Flaming Lips 8. Major Lazer
Until I do more research and listening these are the only must see performances I realize fully that it was kind of sad to post only a top 8 in a top 10 must see list, but I had to listen to a few more artists before I decided. My 'must see' bands are the musicians that I absolutely have to see and will be totally devasted if I miss at this our 10th Sasquatch. 1)Foo Fighters - FF to me is a band that I don't love or hate, but generally respect. What I've seen/heard of their live festival sets has me excited. Could be the best pure rock performance of the weekend. 2)Bassnectar - I don't need to explain this here. 3)Sleigh Bells - Something so fuckin catchy about this band, love her voice and can't wait to see whats in store for me at their performance. It's like a cheerleader who loved/metal and rock with a dose of NIN. 4)DFA1979 - One of a few bands in my top 10 that I didnt know prior to the announcement of Sasquatch this year. Totally enjoy everything I've heard, seems like they can put on an energetic show I think they'll make an awesome prelude to FF. 5)the Decemberists - Love the oasis/beatles vibe I get from these guys, the portion of their show I saw in 2009 was solid and barring any scheduling conflicts with Skrillex/Major Lazer this is a show I plan to see in full. 6)Rodrigo Y Gabriella - Beautiful. I get goosepoops when I watch videos of their wish you were here and Stairway covers. Again I really hope they dont conflict with Skrillex/Lazer. 7)Black Mountain - FUCK YES! Black rock n fucking roll Mountain. Probably my favorite discovery of a band in the last year. Their music is so powerful. Love to see a band with this sound at a festival that is packed pretty heavily with indie rock. 8)Archers of Loaf - What a fuckin jammin band. This is not generally my preferred sound, but something about these guys does it for me. They sound like a group that plays hard and will be a kick ass live act. 9)The Flaming Lips - They better live up to the fucking hype because I've listened to Soft Bulletin all the way through a good dozen times and the lyrics still seem like complete nonsense to me. That being said the instrumentation and sound are amazing. I'm totally compelled by their sound, but utterly offput by their lyrics. Live up to the hype, DO IT! 10)Skrillex - This guy is sorcerous. I can't wait for his sound to twist my mind! 11)Wolf Parade - Supposedly their last show, whats not to be excited about. (Sorry had to squeeze'em in) Other honorable mentions that I totally want to see but will not classify in the must see them or hate myself later top 10 list include - MSTRKRFt, Chromeo, Major Lazer, Yeasayer, Bonobo, Guided By Voices, Foster the People, Glitch Mob, Trailer Park Boys, Tim Minchin, Reggie Watts, and Wheedle's Groove. How do I find more music by "!!!" Like if I were going to go to my local music shop how would I ask for their cd? "Hey can you special order me a CD by 3 exclamation points" I haven't been able to find them on youtube either. 43 until departure. See you guys Thursday. Or those of you who show up a day early. Look for the north dakotans and you have found us.

I fully expect this to be the pinnacle of my weekend. I've already secured enhancers for my group, we'll be using glow in the dark body paint, led to shirts and gloves as well as a fat load of glowsticks. If I don't step through a glowing, multicolored interdimensional gate during this set than I didn't do something right or I got excited and ate my enhancers before the Sleigh Bells set with the expectation I'd be riding it still for the late night show. Cant. Fucking. Wait.
