A 'Bro' is someone who gets belligerently drunk as quickly as possible, disregards things such as sunblock and proper hydration, only cares about asshole bands, harasses women to impress his buddies, wears puka shell necklaces, is inclined to intentionally lash out against the more mild mannered revelers for asking him to contain his shit, is equally inclined to unintentionally lash out against more mild-mannered revelers by virtue of the fact that he is belligerently drunk and is of a mind to wrassle with his buddies, and will most likely have a sack full oof roofies in his double-wide asshole sized camper.
What the fuck do you mean you don't know what a Bro is?
Haha, this and basically living the GTL lifestyle with a ridiculously lifted truck as your "ride."
Yeah, way too many emo kids there... That was partially killing it for me. The dude also made some really bold statements up on stage.
Too many emo kids? And Conor making an ass out of himself onstage?
Are you SURE we're talking about a Bright Eyes show?
Haha, You're right. I shouldn't expect Bright eyes to be anything but just that. The sad thing was that I sat through it to keep my "good spot" for Death Cab and they were just... meh. I should have left that stage after Iron & Wine.
Oh...and fuck yes! "Debra" is one of my favorites!
I was once a pretty big Bright Eyes fan. Did I think it was acceptable for Conor Oberst to fucking emo out with his hood on for 4 songs at 2011? Absolutely not.
Haha, he looked like he was trying to be Eminem off of "8 mile" or something to me....
I'm really excited for Beck! The last time I saw him live was in support of his Midnite Vultures album and that was IMO one of the most memorable shows I have been to. I know he's mellowed out a little since then, but I have a feeling he is still great live.
It just sounds like a lineup that will afford a a fun, energetic atmosphere. There's enough bands thrown in there that I REALLY want to see to make it so that I'm not totally bummed about not getting the bands I was hoping for, and the rest of it just sounds like a party where I can go and space out and enjoy the vibes.
Man, I couldn't agree with you more this year...
...and if Friendly D is right about that Black Mountain comparison, then I'm definitely checking that band out!
Thanks again! I'm sure if Peter Gabriel is on vocals than I will enjoy it. I can imagine that was a time when Phil's drumming was at it's finest too. Either way, I could listen to him and Gabriel all day.
I have the Rhinoplasty EP, but I never knew that was a cover song. Les' rendition of "The Thing That Should Not Be" is flawless. I think I will be revisiting that album soon.
