I must confess that before tonight I had listened to a total of 0 albums by the National and Queens of the Stone Age, so I decided to check thems out and it turns out the former makes my cut but the belt sander does not. Taking the schedule into account, and not counting Panda Bear as items 1-9 even though I still do, my list now looks like this:
1. PeeBs 2. Liars 3. Mogwai 4. half of M.I.A. 5. Violent Femmes 6. The National 7. Brody Dalle 8. Eugene Mirman 9. Eric Andre 10. Hannibal Buress 11. Deafheaven 12. Rodriguez 13. Pink Mountaintops 14. Outkast 15. the late-night set with the most corn chips
You didn't dig QotSA? What album(s) did you listen to?
De La Soul vs Liars, Austra vs M.I.A., AlunaGeorge vs. Portugal. the Man. Could've been worse.
The De La Soul and Liars conflict is probably the worst one for me. I've been wanting to see De La Soul for the longest time, but I just recently discovered how fucking awesome Liars are and I don't want to miss them either.
From your first-hand experience, why was Outkast regarded as such a bad performance? I watched a bit of their performance on the stream but ultimately decided against since they'll be at Sasquatch. Really hoping they were just shaking off the dust with Coachella..
From what I saw, it was mainly because Andre just didn't seem to give a fuck at all. Big Boi was bringing it though.
Moistboyz are gonna be opening for Queens of the Stone Age in Portland next week. I wonder if they'll have Deaner come out and play the songs he recorded with them on Songs for the Deaf? I'm gonna be pissed if I end up missing that.
Queens of the Stone Age haven't played "Six Shooter", "Gonna Leave You", or "Mosquito Song" at all last year or this year, so if they did, it would be especially special. They've been sticking to "Millionaire," "No One Knows," "Go With the Flow," and "A Song for the Dead" for the most part. You know, the hits.
I dunno. They said on their Facebook page that it's going to be a special night.
"we are all great friends, it will be a wonderful reunion on a billion levels, nick, josh, me and the whole damn crew. we are all super tight and fans of each other. gonna be a killer night!"
It might happen. Too bad it sold out a long time ago.
