That was great man, thanks!
So good I watched it twice.
EDIT: Damn, just noticed he's likely up against Beach House. That'll be a tough choice. I'll definitely give Reggie a chance to win me over though.

I'll have to find some videos when I get a chance. As a return favour for the Reggie Watts video, here you go:

Here's mine:
Got me so excited that my dick is spasming: Modest Mouse, Death From Above 1979, The Flaming Lips, Wolf Parade, Yeasayer, Deerhunter, Local Natives, Wilco
I dig these bands and will definitely be watching barring there are no conflicts with the above: Beach House, Best Coast, Guided by Voices, Surfer Blood, Iron & Wine, Washed Out, Bassnectar, Death Cab for Cutie, Tim Minchin, Sharon Van Etten, Das Racist
I have been recommended these bands through various channels and will be giving them a listen before the festival in order to properly categorize: Black Mountain, Archers of Loaf, Smith Westerns, Flying Lotus, J. Mascis, Ratatat, White Denim, Dan Mangan, The Antlers, !!!, Mad Rad, The Drums, Foster the People, Major Lazer
I have listened to these bands and they didn't get my dick sucked a lot, but I am willing to give them another chance: Sleigh Bells, The Thermals, Tokyo Police Club, Chromeo, MSTRKRFT
In my wayward youthful days, I really dug these bands and may watch them if there's nothing else going on: Flogging Molly, Against Me!, Foo Fighters, k-os, Trailer Park Boys, The Bronx
These guys are on? Now would be a great time to go take a shit: The Decemberists, Bright Eyes, Cold War Kids, Matt & Kim, City & Colour, Sam Roberts Band
Who...? (i.e. recommend any of these for me to check out): Robyn, Pink Martini, Rodrigo Y Gabriela, Old 97s, Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings, Skrillex, Fitz and the Tanrums, CSS, Bonobo, Jenny & Johnny, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, The Head & The Heart, Bonobo (DJ set), Reggie Watts, Gayngs, The Radio Dept, Young The Giant, Villagers, Stornoway, Aloe Black, Rival Schools, Moondoggies, Noah & The Whale, Secret Sisters, Twin Shadow, Wye Oak, Tig Notaro, Wheedle's Groove, Albert Cross, S. Carey, Gold Panda, Axis of Awesome, The Globes, Cotton Jones, Jaill, Basia Bulat, Other Lives, Rebecca Gates and the Consortium, White Arrows, Pepper Rabbit, Talkdemonic, The Young Evils, Head Like a Kite

I was at Bestival on the Isle of Wight this year, and they had a giant wicker castle in the festival grounds that they turned into a giant bonfire amid a massive fireworks display on the last day. It was great.
They had tons of awesome stuff going on at the festival aside from just the music. I wish Sasquatch would take a page from their book, but I realize the Gorge is a bit limited for space.

I would rather see any of the Flaming Lips, Modest Mouse, and Wilco over Soundgarden and the Arcade Fire.

This will be my first time seeing the Lips. I'm bummed that there looks like there will probably be a conflict with Yeasayer, because I haven't seen them either, but man, given the choice between FL/MM and Yeasayer, that's really not a choice at all.

I want to see if I can put this in perspective for those who don't know. Pavement was probably a bigger headliner (minus Foo I guess, and I mean more in terms of draw than quality, so nobody jump on my ass about that) than any of the headliners this year. Last year, Pavement was billed LOWER than Guided By Voices at Matador's 21st birthday bash. I don't know if I can associate with a festival that does this. I feel even subheadlining would be insulting for GBV. Adam Zacks is taking a dump right on Guided By Voices chest. I'm starting to think he was just like "hmm... I hear that Guided By Voices is popular. Let's do that. We'll just stick 'em somewhere in the afternoon or something." I think you're a bit out to lunch on gauging the popularity of the headliners. Not that this is the definitive answer for it, but the Last.FM listener numbers sort of puts it in perspective: Past and Present Headliners (w/ Guided by Voices thrown in for kicks): Foo Fighters - 91,204,143 plays (2,516,543 listeners) Kings of Leon - 94,139,630 plays (2,049,455 listeners) Death Cab for Cutie - 115,281,556 plays (1,957,614 listeners) R.E.M. - 50,527,693 plays (1,929,938 listeners) Massive Attack - 63,554,519 plays (1,705,033 listeners) Modest Mouse - 78,900,209 plays (1,613,083 listeners) Arcade Fire - 80,255,784 plays (1,495,556 listeners) Nine Inch Nails - 112,373,533 plays (1,454,381 listeners) Pixies - 53,708,039 plays (1,442,475 listeners) The Flaming Lips - 32,601,160 plays (1,199,119 listeners) Sonic Youth - 36,555,233 plays (1,087,063 listeners) The Decemberists - 40,931,665 plays (1,024,068 listeners) Wilco - 34,721,717 plays (816,320 listeners) Pavement - 25,325,166 plays (665,229 listeners) My Morning Jacket - 12,748,537 plays (570,734 listeners) Ween - 8,598,826 plays (326,935 listeners) Guided By Voices - 10,032,511 plays (289,032 listeners)

I think the lineup's just fine. I'm happy with it. There's a dozen bands I'm genuinely excited for, and more that I'd like to check out. Plus it has Modest Mouse, and goddamn that gets my dick hard. Now what to do about the fact I have no money for a ticket, no ride down there, and no camping equipment. Fuck.

I got word from Alex from CoS that the Foo are the biggest headliner. He would tell me no more. He has the lineup already, and says its solid. They (CoS) is posting it right at 12am PST. But realized that it would obviously be leaked before then. Well the Foo Fighters are prett damn big so that's a good thing I guess. Not that these numbers are the be all to end all of deciding a bands popularity, nor are they even indicative of anything, but I think they're interesting to take a look at. Last.FM listener numbers for past, present, rumoured, and wishful-thinking headliners (sorted by amount of listeners): Radiohead - 261,486,250 plays (3,151,349 listeners) Foo Fighters - 91,204,143 plays (2,516,543 listeners) Daft Punk - 76,935,317 plays (2,061,863 listeners) Kings of Leon - 94,139,630 plays (2,049,455 listeners) R.E.M. - 50,527,693 plays (1,929,938 listeners) Massive Attack - 63,554,519 plays (1,705,033 listeners) Pearl Jam - 72,632,794 plays (1,672,182 listeners) Modest Mouse - 78,900,209 plays (1,613,083 listeners) Arcade Fire - 80,255,784 plays (1,495,556 listeners) Nine Inch Nails - 112,373,533 plays (1,454,381 listeners) Pixies - 53,708,039 plays (1,442,475 listeners) The Flaming Lips - 32,601,160 plays (1,199,119 listeners) Sonic Youth - 36,555,233 plays (1,087,063 listeners) Wilco - 34,721,717 plays (816,320 listeners) Pavement - 25,325,166 plays (665,229 listeners) My Morning Jacket - 12,748,537 plays (570,734 listeners) Ween - 8,598,826 plays (326,935 listeners)

Holy shit. Reunited DFA1979.
The rest of the line-up I can take or leave. The only other band on there that I haven't seen yet that I would love to is Animal Collective.

I'm addicted to Aldous Huxley... Everyone should read 'Island' Funny, I started that back in September after a friend gave it to me before I came to the UK. I got sidetracked by readings for class, so I never got around to finishing it. I've really enjoyed what I've read so far: Huxley's prose is fantastic (full disclosure: I've never read Brave New World). Maybe I'll pick it up again here in the next day or two if have the mind to read---just feeling a little burned out at the moment. I was going to try to tackle The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoevsky over the term break, but that's probably not happening anymore. That book is fucking intimidating. I'd also like to finish And the Ass Saw the Angel by Nick Cave (he's actually a fantastic writer as well as musician!) and The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami, both of which I started ages ago and got interrupted by life and never went back to. Maybe get to Siddhartha by Herman Hesse, which I've wanted to read for ages. The last book I finished was Time's Arrow by Martin Amis for my postmodern lit class. It was all right, if not a bit gimmicky.

Shit shit shit! I just realized that she was my ride down last year and expected ride down this year! Haha. So the more pressing issue: does anyone heading to to Squatch from Vancouver (BC) have extra room? I may not need it, I'm inquiring with other people, but it would sure beat inquiring on Craigslist or hitchhiking if one of you awesome people could help out.
Cheers!

I honestly never use the radio function. I just find the chart features neat. It's recommendation system is great for discovering new music too.
