I got an email this morning from someone who was trying to book Grizzly Bear, and was told that it wouldn't be possible because Grizzly Bear would be at Sasquatch.
Not an outside-verified, but I'd at least put this in the strong-likely category at least.

I'm pretty sure SSSS has nothing to do with Boston Spaceships, Robert Pollard's (Guided By Voices) new band...
Boston Spaceships would be rad.

Alcohol is super easy to sneak in, especially for premiere campers.

Yeah - I've just been into too many situations at festivals with Jam bands, and coming up with more of a punk / hardcore background, its just really the opposite of what I like in music. To each their own though...

I've got to say - I find the Dave Mathews Band rumours a tad disheartening. There are a few things I hate worse than "jam bands" - aka DMB, Phish, Ben Harper. Not only for the music (which I hate), but also for the people that these bands attract.

To keep things easy to read, lets use this thread strictly to keep track of the confirmations as they are found out, and the "2009 Who is Going to Be There" thread for discussion (as it is being used now).
I also got rid of a few redundant "who is going to be there this year" threads.

Premier Camping was really poorly run/organized this year. The festival was raaaad, but the Premiere camping, which is generally excellent, was terrible. For $60/Vehicle/Night you can enjoy additional benefits and privileges.
Premier camping provides a reserved site, area enclosed with cedar fence to provide an enjoyable, private and secure atmosphere. Experienced staff on hand to provide needed assistance and to monitor sites for unauthorized guests.
"Experienced Staff" who were directing people who paid into the regular area, who didn't have any information on anything you had questions with. Specifically the shuttles (which I will get to). These campsites are extra roomy to accommodate larger vehicle i.e. SUVs, RVs (no hook ups (sorry), travel trailers and easily accessible. Fair enough. We got lots of room, no complaint here. Access to clean, private restrooms and shower facilities featuring flushable toilets, electrical receptacles and air conditioning.
On day one, and part of day two, this "private" area wasn't staffed, and was filled with the regular campers. A special air-conditioned shuttle service to the amphitheatre from campground. Premiere campers will be allowed early entry. 1. Shuttles were late EVERY DAY of the show. Monday, we were told to line-up at 10am, and the shuttle didn't get there until 11am. No one was admitted early any day of the show, and the "good" spaces on the rock-face (AKA the main reason people pay the extra money - to get in early and get a sweet spot) were taken up by people coming in the main gate. EVERY DAY OF THE SHOW. The place to get back on the shuttle to get back to the camp site was closed off on day one (at least temporarily), and the whole thing was fucking bullshit. One shuttle running half an hour to an hour late every day of the festival
A special menu available after show at the reserved recreation area.
Access to an outdoor movie/videos and/or other specially programmed activities free for Premiere campers only.
From what I saw, showing Transformers on an outdoor screen is a pretty fucking weak attempt at this. I suppose the main issue was the shuttles. It's not as if I can't walk, but you can't get to the premiere entry if you aren't in a shuttle (they don't let you walk there), so you are totally stuck waiting around for them to get their shit together this year. On Monday (festival started earlier) was news to everyone except the concert goers. The shuttle people had no idea, the premiere camping manager had no idea. We convinced a manager, and he told us they would get a shuttle there by 10 am. So, we lined up at 10am and waited until 11am. 1 hour. Fuuuuuuuck.

I am with Tom here. All I heard was a band that sounded like "Methods of Mayhem" continually playing "LET'S GET NAKED!"
So absolutely not my thing.

I can't say for sure - other than I read that she broke her foot, but was planning to rejoin them a few weeks later. www.nekocase.com/travelogue/2008/05/ - this recent blog post puts her with the NP's lin Japan/Australia, thought I can't find any other information than that. Hmmm.

Apparently, Neko is still on tour with NP's, so chances are good she will be there as part of the NP's (but not solo). There is a break between their last show and Sasquatch, but I wouldn't rule it out!

They are up! www.sasquatchfestival.com/2008/main.php?page=galleryI don't know how long they have been up. Liking the Modest Mouse, The National and Destroyer. I know they do these every year, but I am still unclear on how one gets a print of one of these. Any ideas???

So her an Dan Bejar (I think thats how you spell his name) will be performing with the New Pornos eh? That is pretty awesome. I might have to make seeing them a higher priority. EDIT: Destroyer plays from 4:45 to (assuming it will take 20 minutes to set up for Crudo) 5:40 and the New Pornos start at 5:25. It's a small conflict... but that is a weird one, isn't it? Anyways, I will probably skip the New Pornos in order to get a good spot for Crudo. Not really - Dan only plays a couple of songs with the New Pornographers, and only in a vocal capacity, so I could see them ushering Dan over to sing "Jackie Dressed in Cobras" or "Myriad Harbour" near the end of the set. I saw Destroyer in Calgary this past Wednesday - the lineup right now are killing it live - so good. So good.
