The people I'm going to Coachella with (weekend 1) are all getting bikes to ride to and from the festival with, and my girlfriend and I will be joining them and no longer need our shuttle passes. They're each good for a seat on the Zone 1 yellow La Quinta line. More info on the shuttles can be found at valleymusictravel.com/coachella_shuttles_2012_weekend1.php. These passes retail for $50 but I'm selling for $45. I just want to get rid of them. I'd prefer to transact in person with someone in the Vancouver area, but if you're interested and not nearby send me a PM all the same. Coachella 2012 here we come!!!

Will do, figmeister! The allure of a James Murphy DJ set might actually make all the difference to me. Is there any info on which night he'll be playing? It's not apparent to me when I look at the line-up section.

Woot indeed! Got my festie bracelets in the mail a couple weeks ago and I couldn't be more excited! I'm very impressed by the quality and effort put into these packages. No offense, Sasquatch, but I think my first Coachella is going to blow my mind!
Good to see the board is organizing a camp ground caravan. I'm not camping, but am definitely hoping to come by the massive camp site for a visit. If you see me in the festival come say hey! You know how to find me. It's funny that you're planning to meet at a Walmart on the 12th because I purchased some things from their web site and had them sent "site-to-store" and will be picking them up on the 12th, but I'm going to the one closest to the festival (and where I'm staying) in La Quinta.
I saw someone was looking for things to do in the area for the days before/after the fest. My plan is to hit up Joshua Tree National Park, probably on the Tuesday after the festival (weekend 1.) Lots of cool geology to explore there and many short hikes available. A couple friends want to go to Disneyland but I think I'll be the one renting the car and will probably veto that drive. I also saw some people were talking about rental cars, and I thought I'd say I was able to find a pretty good deal. I'm renting a "premium" ("Crown Victoria or similar") car for a week through Dollar for $169 base rate. This is out of their Palm Springs airport location, and from what I can tell they have availability still so PM me if you want more info.
Speaking of annoying money stuff, I have a couple of shuttle passes for sale. I have them in hand (they're yellow credit card size passes) and they're for the "La Quinta" line. Face value is $50, but I'm asking $45 for them. I'll post more info in the "tickets" section, but PM me if you're interested!

That's me! Just checking in to see what my fellow Coachella-goers are up to. And to say hello to the rest of yous!
I've been out of town on business a lot recently and just generally busy, but it's great to read a couple threads and see everyone is well. Love the new color scheme!
So that you know where to find me, I'll probably duck in and out of the Coachella thread for the next few weeks leading up to the festival. Still trying to sort out my Sasquatch group/plans and don't have tickets yet, unfortunately. I was hoping to go for Sat/Sun this year but the fact that only weekend tickets are for sale is dissuading me. Will hopefully still make it out but might be a last minute decision. Cross your fingers!

Ahh... that's the best I could figure, but wasn't sure. I guess the empty-netter was pretty obvious to folks.
What's with Rexall place and having the players' benches on the wrong (opposite) side of the rink? It always messes me up when I watch Oilers home games on TV. There may be other NHL arenas that do the same thing but if so they're probably in the other conference.

wasn't mine. Someone higher up threw it and it landed on the guy behind me Even better! Unless I was wearing a shitty hat I would be hesitant to throw mine, but I bet it's pretty easy to get caught up in the moment. What do you mean by "legit hat trick" thought? Is there another type? Looks like Reimer is back in action and getting the start against Boston tonight. With the tear the killer B's have been on I'm going to keep him benched (fantasy-wise) anyway.

It's been too long since I've seen one of these posted, so I'm gonna go ahead and do one: I stopped by my local liquor store on my way home from work tonight and had a lengthy conversation with a few employees about their beer selection. 'Tis the season for winter ales, and they suggested a few that were new to me that I ended up buying. Here they are from left to right: Phillips - Hop Circle IPA Okay, this one isn't a winter seasonal, but it is a simply delicious IPA. Everything Phillips does is excellent, and this one is no exception. It's a well balanced IPA that is nice and floral. I liken it most to Bridgeport IPA for the yanks of the board. Vancouver Island Brewery - Hermannator Ice Bock Until today everything I had tried from Vancouver Island Brewery has been middle of the road, so I was surprised when the beer guy suggested I try this one. He explained that for this beer they brew it, freeze it, and bottle the non-frozen remainder. This concentrates the beer by removing much of the water, which results in a rich, malty, strong (9.5%) product that is quite tasty! As you can see I've nearly finished my first bottle of 6 and I'm definitely enjoying all the effects! Whistler Brewing Company - Winter Dunkel I haven't tried this one yet, but I was told Whistler made a very limited batch of it last year that only appeared at a few beer festival. It was well received, leaving people wanting more. This year they made more and put it in big bottles. It's supposed to be a nice malty beer with hints of orange and chocolate. Will probably have it this weekend, or maybe later tonight! Castle Brewery - Eggenberg, Austria - Samichlaus Bier (Santa Claus Beer) After selecting the Hermannator we got to talking about strong beers, and the guy asked me if I had ever tried this one. I had never heard of it and he informed me that it is the "strongest lager in the world" and described its taste as similar to barley wine. I'm not sure why, but they didn't have it on display in the store, so when I said I'd give it a go he went in the back to fetch me a bottle. Indeed, the label states that it is "the strongest lager beer in the world" and boasts a 14% ABV. It was also bottled in 2007 making it older than most of the wine I drink. Looking forward to opening up this one for sure! Happy Friday, everyone!

Wolfhat do you ever have issues with the ati drivers? When I originally built my rig, I had a radeon 5770 but had countless issues with it and the drivers so after a year I finally went back to NVIDIA and have yet to look back I have not, but like I say I've only had it for a few months and haven't really tested it properly yet. I've only played a few games on it, and those games have been at least a couple years old. The ones I have played have been on max settings and I haven't encountered any errors, though.

That seems about right. And certainly this effect is far lesser than the equivalent for batters. They can be moved around the order at will (not within a game, of course) and get their chance to "do their thing" 3-6 times per game rather than 1-2 times per week as pitchers do.
Plus, pitchers don't have to be able to hit, and coming from someone who pitched growing up I have never liked that about the pros.

I don't much care for the Archaic Munchies. They got way too much radio play, back when they used to get radio play, and I think I ODed on them. Plus, they called the crowd "rubbish" (or something to that effect) when they last played Sasquatch and that rubbed me the wrong way.
