I love it when I can physically feel the sound of music. This is exactly how I felt, the whole thing (sound, feeling, visuals) was just kind of an experience that was hard to describe but all around amazing.

Godspeed was awesome last night. They played for well over 2 hours with no breaks and no talking. Everyone I talked to felt like they were in a trance for most of the show, even those that weren't inebriated. They just suck you in. So glad I got to see them, and grabbed a sweet poster.
I have no idea who the opener was. Nothing was said. He just walked on stage, fiddled with a table of electronics and then walked off after half an hour. It was really fuzzy, drone stuff, that was ok but with a lame drum track on top.

Soo, how about those questions regarding Death From Above? Anyone, aanyone? Bueller? Saw them twice in Vancouver before they broke up. Really high energy show that sounded great for 2 guys. A must see if you like their recorded music at all. (though it will be interesting to see what they are like now after a few years off when they supposedly really didn't like each other)

Also on an unrelated note I haven't been to a concert in a long time and am now even more stoked to be seeing Godspeed You! Black Emperor next month.

So I just got home from Ween in Vancouver and it was definitely an interesting show... It was awesome up to a point. Buckingham Green was amazing, but just under 2 hours into the show everyone except Gene got into a huddle and then walked of the stage and didn't return. Gene seemed pretty messed up so I assume thats why they were mad (he spent an entire song on his back mumbling). He continued to play a few more songs solo and talk to the audience, asking the band to come back, before leaving the stage himself (not before a roady came on to take off some of the other instruments signaling the others weren't going to come back). There was no encore and the lights just came up after a long pause and they started to pack up. I guess we'll see what happens with their shows tomorrow night and beyond. Needless to say it was an interesting experience.

Thats fair enough, previous to this I thought it was quite possible Arcade Fire would be at Sasquatch. Also to further refute my own point Bjork headlined both festivals in 2007 (but Bjork is amazing). I guess the are still in the running, but I'd still think this basically kills any hope people had of Kanye and I agree they wouldn't share 2 headliners.

With Kanye, The Strokes, and Arcade Fire all headlining Coachella I guess we can pretty much rule them out now...

For a group with such unwavering morals the idea of them playing festivals (atp excepted) is kind of weird I was about to say pretty much the same thing. Also its worth noting they are about to roll through the area in February with their tour ending at the beginning of May. I'd love to see them at Sasquatch but I would really doubt they'd ever attend (Coachella seems out of the question too). Luckily I'll be seeing them in February so I'm pretty stoked since it seems they and any other incarnation (Zion) seem to never want to play the West Coast.

I saw Buke and Gass open for Efterklang a few months back and they were really good live. They'd be cool to see again now that I actually know them.

I tried to bring in a similar camera last year and was turned away, but I'm sure it all depends on on checks your bag. I had the super old woman that seemed to be the head one and was super anal.

No, they have not sold them at the festival in the past, and I assume they won't again. You can usually get them off the artists websites (usually not till after the festival) and as mentioned many are available at Bumbershoot festival. There is a poster exhibition called Flatstock and many of the artists (as well as a bunch of others) set up booths.
