If I remember correctly they were selling those giant cans of Coors for 8 bucks last year, right? Can't remember what else or if it changes every year. The reason I ask is cause I figured it would be smart to buy the exact same beer from a store and then sneak it inside the festival. That way I can walk around drinking my smuggled hooch without a care in the world and security will be none the wiser. Pretty smart, right? (I'm sure I'm not the first one to think of this)

Duty-Dodger. I like that. Well I'm going to case the joint while stopping en route to Sasquatch, and if it looks safe enough I'm going to come back a week or two later and try it.
Even if I were to get caught though... it's not an arrestable offence is it?

Nobody, eh? Well I'm going to do it and if I get arrested I'm blaming all of you for not trying to stop me.

This has nothing to do with Sasquatch or even travelling to Sasquatch, but it's something that's had me wondering for a while. Everybody in Canada knows that buying booze/beer/cigarettes here is pretty damn expensive compared to buying these things in the US. However, buying them from the Canadian Duty Free is wonderfully cheap. But of course, you are only allowed to shop at the duty free if you are going into the states.
So my question is this, what is to stop you from going with a bunch of friends, parking a few blocks from the border, walking to the duty free shop, buying a shitload of supplies, giving them a fake (or real) lisence plate number, and then walking back to your car and driving back home for a reasonably priced drink-and-smoke-a-thon? Maybe I'm missing something but it really doesn't seem that hard to do.
Whattaya think? Anybody got any insider information?

How about Midlake vs. Martina Topley Bird?
Anybody seen either/both live? Completely different music I know, but who is more likely to put on a better show?

Have you ever cruised Chuckanut Drive? Wow, so Chuckanut is good for more than just a giggle?? I may just have to check that out. The I-5 gets so damn boring after a while. Any idea which exit you take?

My roommate said to stop giving advice or all our shows are going to be crowded haha Don't worry. I'm going to be placing misleading directional signs all over the campsite so people end up wandering out into the gorge instead of to the amphitheatre. Just like lemmings. This will clear up plenty of room at all of the stages. Just don't follow the signs and you and I will rule Sasquatch.

The National vs. Hold Steady vs. Why? I would national for the first 45 (or all of it if it's awesome for you) and catch the 45 or 30 of the end of the hold steady. You don't need an hour of the hold steady to let it sink in. Dirty Projectors are so talented it is unreal. My friend saw took my tickets when i couldn't go last year and was astonished. I wouldn't leave their set early. Don't miss Dr. Dog. I promise you won't be disappointed. I think I'm just going to go ahead and just take all that advice. Thank you.

Someone please lend a helping hand in making these decisions! (I know, some of these have probably been answered, but there are just too many pages to look through. Forgive me!)
SATURDAY ------------
The National vs. Hold Steady vs. Why? Don't really know any of these bands too well but heard they are all terrific live. I will probably end up walking around and seeing a couple songs from each, but would like to know who you think I should devote most of my time to.
OK Go vs. Patrick Watson vs. Patton Oswalt Probably the biggest FML for me. Not so much because of OK Go even though I did want to see them and would imagine them having a very fun set, but because of the Watson/Oswalt aka Oswaltson conflict. Just recently got into Patrick Watson and he was tops on my must-see at Sasquatch list, but Patton is one of my favourite comedians and I feel like I'd be a fool to miss him. How amazing is PAtrick Watson live?
SUNDAY ---------
Massive Attack vs. Public Enemy Worth missing the first half hour of Massive Attack for Public Enemy? Actually nevermind. Stupid question. I can obviously just decide while I'm at Public Enemy.
Pavement vs. Dirty Projectors Only mildly familiar with both. Who will put on a better show? I guess I'll have more oppertunities to see DP in the future so Pavement is probably the way to go, right?
MONDAY ----------
Dr. Dog vs. Craig Robinson Are Dr. Dog's shows memorable? Pretty big fan, but find with their style of music the live show could either be great energetic fun or just kind of boring. Anyone seen Craig Robinson stand-up? Funny?
DBT's vs. Bobcat Goldthwait Probably going to do Bobcat on this one. Was excited about the DBT's but Bobcat is sort of a legend, right? Well that might be taking it a bit far, but since discovering World's Greatest Dad (which if you haven't seen go watch it fucking now) I'm ecstatic about seeing him live.
Oh, P.S. I saw MGMT last summer and they bored the shit out of me, buuuuut I saw them at Coachella and they kinda blew me away. The new album sounds really good live and I think they have really tried to step up their live performances based on all the negative feedback. Some people will disagree I'm sure but I'd say you should definitely give them another chance.

For anybody who has done the Vancouver to Sasquatch drive multiple times, I'm curious to know if any of you take any ritualistic stops on the way (e.g. an attraction, a good restaurant to have lunch, or just a beautiful spot to hang out while still buzzing from that Sasquatch high). I know it's only about a 5 hour drive, but I find it makes the trek more fun when you stop and get out of the car every once in a while.
A couple years ago we took a bit of a detour coming home and stopped at North Bend, which, if you are familiar with the show Twin Peaks, you have to see (the show was filmed there). We checked out the waterfall featured in the opening credits, and the cafe famous for their damn fine coffee and cherry pie. It also has some nice trails and there are plenty of great places to chill out and have a beer or a smoke or whatever.
So yeah, that's highly reccomended. Anybody got any thing else worth checking out on the way?

Soooo lineup is here and I am happy to say that there are fewer soul-crushing conflicts than I had expected. That being said there are still some tough decisions that I could really use some helpful opinions on. Obviously you know nothing about my musical taste so you won't be able to reccomend an act to me personally but if anyone has seen any of these performers perform and knows who is great/boring/mindbending/obnoxious live your feedback would be a great help in making these decisions.

Heard from a handful of people that ticketmaster will be releasing more 3-day passes closer to the festival date. Haven't heard any real evidence of this so wondering if anyone else has.
Bullshit or no bullshit?

Alright Ticketmaster, we get it. You're an asshole. Congratulations. Now how's about letting us in on just what the hell it is you're trying to do?
So let's see. Ticketmaster offering 3-day passes. 3-day passes end. Whatever, we knew that would happen. Single day tickets are for sale. Single day tickets are sold out. Oh hey they released the 3-day passes again! Oh. No. 3-day passes are sold out again. Touche Mr. Master, touche. What's your next move? Do I have to feed you a stray kitten to get a ticket now or what? I mean just what the fuck is going on here?
Anyone know anything? I mean it's not actually sold out, right? Should I just say fuck it and just go and try to buy tickets on site? How risky of a move would that be? Anybody want to join me in burning down the Ticketmaster head office? I'm going to go make some molotov cocktails.

Man I screwed up. Screwed up bad. The other day I excitedly bought what I thought was a 3-day pass off ebay for $150. Found out the next day that it was just a goddamn Sunday ticket. Son. Of. A. Bitch.
So yeah called the place, ticket has already been sent, no refunds, blah blah blah. Moving on, $150 for 1 of 3 days is ridiculous but whatever it's my own dumb fault. So what the heck do I do now? I was thinking I'll probably just sell it on craigslist for whatever I can get and then keep searching for a 3-day pass, but I was wondering if it would make more sense at this point to keep my Sunday and just buy Saturday and Monday tickets from scalpers (or whatever they like to be called) at the door. Never done this before. How much do they usually go for? Someone please reccomend to me the most economically feasible option.
Thanks!!
