Stormy, that's usually my plan of attack. The only thing that sucks about not keeping that buzz going throughout the day is that I get fucking miserably sleepy at like, 4pm. I usually get my second wind once the sun sets. Then Stamper and I usually split an overpriced beer inside.

Spending this much time and effort trying to figure out how to sneak booze in makes me feel both very cheap and very alcoholicy. Not wanting to pay $9 for a beer does not make you cheap. This. Especially since the $9 beer is for PBR.

Yeah. With as much groping as they did in line last year, you should expect those kinda enemas. Though, I'll bet they won't be as sultry as the lady on the Blink album cover. Most of those gropers were missing teeth and had sweat stains under their pits.
...but I meannn, if that's your thing....

I meaaannn, yeah, Madonna does need to eat a slice of bread. and a slice of pizza. and perhaps a cupcake.
and sure, she lipsynced. and yea, she may have slipped on the maze that was the stage. but daymmmmmn. She looked great. If anyone knows where I can get me some of them boots she was rocking to her upper tighs, I'd greatly appreciate it.
And can we at least admit, she was a much more entertaining show than last year's stanky eyed peas?

I'm actually really excited about the food options at Coachella. Granted, I'm planning on packing a lot of my own things to snack on throughout the day, as it will be significantly cheaper, but man oh man, the options sound amazing.
I also try to stay away from a lot of meat products at the festival (a la Sasquatch 2010 salmonella poisoning) but I'm excited to hear there are legit veggie options.

Speaking of which, Stamper's making a KILLER pot of chili and I'm trying to think of some somewhat calorie-and-pocketbook-conscious snacks to accompany it. We've got some buddies coming over for the game and obviously the sustenance is one of the most important parts of Super Bowl Sunday.
Suggestions?

I wish Zola Jesus was on that list also, kinda sucks she got stuck on the Yeti. I'm trying to turn this into a positive. Foster the People were on the Yeti and they attracted a big crowd last summer. Scratch that. They had a GIGANTIC crowd. Additionally, I think she's a great fit for the yeti. I caught her at a small venue in Atlanta that holds no more than 125 people. Her style certainly accomidates an intimate crowd and atmosphere. The yeti will help sustain that feel.

Did you miss Beck or something? Been there done Beck, and it sucked. I would really be paying, 400 bucks to hang out with everyone. Love you all but looks like Coachella and Roo (maybe) only for me. Really? I've heard from several that Beck is life changing. I, however, haven't caught him and wouldn't mind the opportunity. But unfortunately, I'll have to keep my fingers crossed he'll be at Bonnaroo or touring the southeast, because I won't be able to afford Sasquatch this year. YAY ADULTHOOD! The lineup is pretty exciting. I hope y'all have a blast. A little piece of me is going to die a bit over memorial day weekend. I'll miss seeing all of your faces and hanging out at the gorge. Ah-- and for those of y'all who haven't seen Zola Jesus and are curious about her, she's nuts. But good nuts. Be sure to see her.

Stormz, I love doing crock pot meals! I recently discovered that they make crock pot liners too, which will make future meals MUCH easier to clean up.
I am not sure if I've mentioned this one before, but this is my staple crock pot dish--
Southwest Chicken
-3 frozen skinless, boneless chicken breasts (1 for me, one for Stamper and one for leftovers) -1 16oz jar of salsa (I always go for HOT) -1 can of low sodium corn, drained -1 can low sodium black beans, NOT drained (you'll need the juices to keep the chicken moist) -1 diced jalapeno if preferred -small handful of Colby jack cheese, or whatever is around for last second garnish -misc. spices including, but not limited to: cumin, black pepper, Cayenne pepper, garlic powder and crushed red pepper
Pour half a jar of salsa to line the bottom of the crock pot. Place frozen chicken on top of that, followed by the drained corn and black beans. Toss in the jalapeno, if using. Sprinkle in spices and pour the rest of the salsa on top of that. Cook on low for 6-8 hrs. Right before serving, sprinkle the cheese on top and place cover back on for 5 mins to allow it to get gooey and melty.
Easiest, tastiest meal in the entire world.

Thanks for the support earlier this afternoon, y'allz. I've been checking the local news all day and haven't seen anything regarding the incident, so I am assuming it wasn't fatal, which puts me at ease.

I saw The Shins recently at the Doug Fir in Portland and to be honest it wasn't the great show that I was hoping it would be. I'm sure it will be better at the gorge, with a sunset, with friends. As ahmazing as it sounds to see them at the gorge at sunset, I caught them at DeLuna. On the beach. As the sun was setting. With $3 beers (As opposed to the $9 PBRs at Sasquatch) and I was focusing more on how overwhelming the concept of sticking my toes into the cold sand was and was underwhelmed by how unexciting the Shins were. I think we've covered this topic, but I just wanted to include my thoughts!

I need to talk this one out. I can't focus.
I saw the car in front of me hit a construction worker on my way to work this morning. It was literally the most disturbing thing I've ever seen in real life.
It happened on a really busy road with construction that's been going on for at least a year.
I was in the second lane and a construction worker literally came out of nowhere--maybe he was running to the other side of the road from the median, but the car in front of me slowed down and swerved when he literally appeared in front of her car, but the guy kept running into the direction she was swerving. He literally flew through the air and rolled a few yards. Once I came to a stop, he tried getting up and people ran out from their cars to help him, yelling at him to get back down. I mean, he undoubedtly was in shock and has major internal injuries. The girl got out of her car in hysterics. I called 911 and gave them all of the information. Afterward, I asked the dispatcher if I should stay, but they told me I should leave if it were safe to do so, especially since they were getting a lot of calls and this was a high volume traffic area.
Now I can't help but feel like I should have stayed. I just want to make sure the guy is okay.
oh man. It was so, so real.
