Mind.is.blown.
I love it when associations come full circle. I knewwww Metronomy sounded familiar!
Admittedly, Imogen Heap is my guilty pleasure. She is an absolute wacko, but I love her even more for it. Back in, say, '07, I started to find some lesser known singles of hers via MySpace and played the shit out them. One song that saw heavy rotation in my iPod mini (RIP) was this song of hers called, "Not That Big". This song featured another band that collaborated with Guy Sigsworth (the other half of Frou Frou, if my memory serves me correctly) called TempoShark. Well, the song was mixed and produced by Metronomy. Mann, they've come a long way, but good for them! I'm now even more excited about seeing them, knowing they've worked with my girl!

Ro, I am the soup master. Please refer to me, should you need ANY recipes. I used up the bean dip and a few pieces of bell pepper in a drunken post-trivia quesadilla the other night. Drunken culinary creations are always phenomenal. And a sloppy bean quesadilla may be the absolute best.

It is finance's fault. =( Plus, no one invited me to the Cappuccino Stout party. I read this as "fiance's fault" which had me extremely confused. Carry on. ^ ME TOO! Even after you distinguished the difference for me, it still took me a minute. ...Continue carrying on.

Ro - I fell in love with Lissie when I discovered her while DJ'ing in Pittsburgh. She's under the same label as Andrew Bird called Fat Possum Records. Its a tiny little label out of Mississippi, but they clearly represent good talent.
My favorite song from her is "When I'm Alone". Its one of those feel-good, total girl-out songs.
Metronomy is a ton of fun, also. Ton of fun.

Oh snap, pea! That's awesome!! I need to do my taxes ASAP. All of that money I'll be getting in return is going straight to the Coachella fund.

I know most of yinz are west coasters, but for the few interested east-coasters, Forecastle just posted their line-up and tix go on sale tomorrow. I'm seriously considering it because I've got family living in Louisville, super close to the park. hmmm.

Electric Picnic did it again! The Cure & Sigur Ros. That festival has the best lineups each year. MUST.GET.TO.IRELAND. He cried via text when I told him the line-up came out. And Ireland is a must. Perhaps if we win the lottery and actually to make it to Glast next summer, we can do a tour d'british isles?

I can attest to Stormy's power bars. They were delightful. And the coffee was a ton of fun. She was so sweet and made a little extra so I could have some. I was so pumped to try them last year.

Friendly, my mom is obsessed with that show. Every time I see her, she finds a way to sneak that show into our discussion.
Ro, I need to preface by saying I normally HATE reality TV. Hate hate hate. But, the other night, Stamper and I were at this taco joint a few blocks from home where 99.9% of the staff are gay, so instead of having sports blaring from the TV, they all huddle around to watch--and commentate on--competition shows.
The other night, they were all watching The Voice. I thought it looked incredibly dumb from the commercials, but I was more so entertained by the staff's comments. Long story short, Andrew and I have guiltily caught ourselves watching a few minutes of it each week for the past 4 or 5 episodes. Shameful.

Sara, one thing that certainly helped me battle the cold was by packing jeans and a hoodie in my bag for the day. It wasn't super glam, but I would just change in a Honey Bucket--or depending on my sobriety level--would just change in the open.
Now that they have re-entry, perhaps you won't have to schlep it around all day, but daymn. it definitely does freeze once that sun sets. Yinz gotta be prepared.

Oh man we should totally have a "Show Us Your Baby Pics" thread. "Squatch Boarders Revealed Jr. Edition"? AGREEEEED! That'd be fun! To ease back on track, I had to boast about my dinner I made for Stamps and me last night. If the saying, "you are what you eat" were true, I'd be a big bowl of warm, comforting soup. I love, love, love soup. I'd still slirp soup in the summer. Love it. Last night, I made a gigantic batch of semi-vegetarian tortilla soup. I'm excited about eating the leftovers this week. It turned out to be deliciously spicy. -onion -garlic -frozen corn -black beans -chicken broth -chopped chipotle peppers in adobo sauce -charred poblano peppers, diced -Trader Joe's taco seasoning (or a mix of cumin, s&p, cayenne pepper, crushed red pepper and garlic powder) -diced jalapeno -lime juice -corn tortillas (if you dice them up and toss them into the soup while its boiling, they'll dissolve and add an amazing flavor) -pinch of cilantro nom.nom.

This sincerely breaks my heart. The Monkees were my first ever favorite band. Granted, I was 5, but I did love me some Sleepy Jean. RIP Davy.
