It was announced today, but they already have a live show announced in Dallas in March, so they should be a well oiled machine by late May.

Broken Bells, and as long as we're collecting mashups of other bands, let's throw in Admiral Radley, composed of former Grandaddy and Earlimart members.

someone said they were playing MGMT during the set break. That is far from a confirmation, but its probably a good sign for MGMT fans...

yeah I wouldn't get too bummed about the names that we've thrown around, seeing how they are based on six degrees of speculation.

I don't understand why the Coachella forum would be nervous...

I tend to agree, My Morning Jacket is a great band, but I don't think they are headliners.

I can't really tell if people are being sarcastic about my Damon Albarn comment. Have the Gorillaz been eliminated from the rumor mill? Perhaps a little Gorillaz/Massive Attack combo. Both artists rely on lots of guest vocalists, so I'm not sure how it would work...

interestingly, Damon Albarn does the vocals to that Massive Attack song.

Pavement leading into Massive Attack seems a little disjointed, or am I reading that wrong?

so has it been determined whether they are going to announce names throughout the night or wait until exactly midnight?

I know a lot of people didn't like the way Bonnaroo announced their lineup, but waiting until midnight for anyone not at the release party (and I'm in Houston, so that was hard to make) doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I was at least expecting some names to trickle out today, but it has really been the complete antithesis of the Bonnaroo announcement day. I hope the payoff isn't as anticlimactic...

I am only lukewarm on the headliners listed by earcandy, but that next group (Thom Yorke/LCD Soundsystem/Them Crooked Vultures/Dead Weather/Devo/New Pornographers/Sunny Day Real Estate/Mudhoney/Phoenix/Broken Social Scene/She & Him/Minus the Bear/MGMT/The Middle East/The xx/jj/Dirty Projectors/Porcupine Tree/The National/Vampire Weekend/Hot Chip/Nada Surf) would make me very happy.

I agree, Nate. Of what I consider "realistic" possibilities, that would be my ideal list of headliners.

I am going to see the Flaming Lips in Houston the very next weekend, so I didn't vote for them for selfish reasons. I also think Jay Z is a strong dark horse candidate. I

I actually really liked the way Bonnaroo announced their lineup. They would send out a new artist name via Twitter every five or six minutes for a span of quite a few hours. I enjoyed the distraction throughout the day and it made smaller names like the Avett Brothers or Regina Spektor pleasant surprises that generated quite a few additional tweets and microblogs.
I think it would have been a much bigger success if a) their lineup was better and b) it wasn't so anticlimactic because so many of their bigger names were already confirmed or heavily rumored. When they announced Stevie Wonder at the end, everyone responded with a collective ho-hum. If that was a sexier name, and if people weren't expecting it, it would have been a huge payoff.

Sorry guys, I just bought my tickets yesterday and this is my first post here, but I'm not really bringing anything new to the table. I have seen the following names listed throughout this and many other forums, but does anyone have any conclusive evidence debunking any of these names?:
LCD Soundsystem Vampire Weekend MGMT The Dead Weather The National Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros Local Natives Yacht Phoenix Passion Pit Dirty Projectors
That group, along with Arcade Fire and Pavement, would be well worth the price of admission in my mind.
