how long is the walk from regular camping? and does anybody have a site map? something that shows a general layout of the campground, festival site, parking lot, etc? I don't assume that changes much from year to year. Hey newbies! The walk ranges from 5 minutes to 45 minutes (depending on how many drunk people you're walking with). The campground is basically just a big open field and you get directed to park your car...so no exact "spaces" for everyone. Last year we got there on Saturday afternoon and were directed to camp in the actual parking lot, which was literally 2 minutes away from the box office. The year before that we got there Friday afternoon, and we were probably 5 minutes from the box office. So get there early or get there late and you will (hopefully) be super close. The walk is good for you though!

Because my friends are total slackers, I am left as the only person with a Saturday ticket (I buy tickets the DAY they come out). Anyway, I'm trying to find 1 to 3 Saturday tickets, and would really appreciate if anyone would be willing to help a sister out. Thanks!

There are no trees, no designated spots or any "areas" of that nature. It's a HUGE field, and the staff people point you to where you're supposed to camp. I recommend camping close to a porta-potty station (that's how they number the sections, so when you're stumbling back from the concert you know you're "near number 17!"). But don't get too close to the potties. Last year the dumb traffic person tried to put us RIGHT NEXT to the porta-potty, and there was just no way. So he had to call his supervisor to let us move on to the next section. Douche. Anyway, that's my two cents about the tent-car-camping area-ness. Oh, and great idea going on Friday, it's way easier that way. Wish we were going on Friday, but we're staying for Monday for the first time this year, and we don't want to run out of ice! So we're cutting out friday camping.

Showers

I am VERY confused. Are there showers that are accessible to the people staying in the regular camping area? This will be my fourth year at Sasquatch, and I've never ever showered there, but I'm thinking this year it will be necessary since we're staying the ENTIRE weekend. Can someone clarify the shower situation for me? Thanks!

I really had my heart set on Pearl Jam this year. A few weeks ago, their "Live at the Gorge" box set was on sale at Circuit City, so I bought it...and I thought that was a really good sign. But, no luck. Maybe next year?
I'm glad someone started this discussion, because now we can write about our disappointment, and then get over it...because Sasquatch is a blast no matter what! And seriously, JANE'S ADDICTION? It never even crossed my mind. That was a pleasant surprise for me.
For now, I'm just going to be happy with what they're giving us, which is an awesome weekend full of good shows, beautiful scenery and awesome people!

I have a few tips after three years of the best festival in the world!
-Bake some (a shitload) of pizza and wrap it up in foil; keep it in your cooler. It is a glorious meal post-concert or when you wake up at 6 a.m. from the sun beating down on your tent.
-Camp near someone with an RV and make friends with them. This can help with the wind situation. And last year we traded them Bloody Marys for Bacon. Definitely worth it.
-Don't speed through the Gorge. There's pretty much always construction which usually means double the fine.
-Don't do drugs. Just booze.
-Get there as early as possible on Friday and camp there. The walk is SOOO much easier to the show.

I don't really have anything new to add, and I will be there no matter what...but I am so excited I just need to add my two cents!
1. Pearl Jam (I've only seen them once..it was awesome, but the backdrop of the Gorge would make it unbelievable) 2. Rage Against the Machine (dream come true)
I guess those are the only two that I really really would love to see. I love the music, but it's really the whole atmosphere that makes Sasquatch the best music fest.
