pixies and the lips wouldn't be billed higher than the foo fighters. not a bad try though, as others have said.

Yeah, if weren't for that comedy lineup, I'd see this as semi-believable (though it could be another case of "10th anniversary go big or go home" condition.

someone want to summarize the last 20 or so pages that happened since I last saw this thread?
I clicked randomly around and saw something about Sonic Youth, and at least 3 "leaked" lineups.
**edit** I got tired of waiting for a summary and skimmed through. I refuse to believe any of the lineups posted as The Rural Alberta Advantage are not on any of them. Mark my words. Tonight you will hear that name called. Just going by my gut.

Hate to disappoint you, alex, but I talked to Nils from the RAA at a show in Hamilton in December and he said no when I asked about them playing Sasquatch, so unless something's changed since then or he hadn't spoken with their booking agent in awhile, you can count them out.

the radius clause thing is ridiculous to me as it concerns small bands, and even mid-card bands. It's like saying "nah, X band won't play Coachella because they're playing LA 3 months before"
fuck that. Headliners yes, maybe even sub-headliners, but I'm convinced that nobody below 8th billing on the lineup is bound by the radius clause.

Last year, I'm don't think there were even ten bands who played in Seattle between the lineup release and the festival. Tallest Man on Earth even said he wasn't allowed to play Seattle, and he is not a top tier dude.

well that's just silly. Nobody is paying $300 to see Tallest Man on Earth.

i refuse to believe your slanderous lies At least their playing Edmonton. I can see being angry a band isn't playing Sasquatch, if it was your only opportunity to see them. But they are coming to your hometown, and if I remember correctly you already have tickets to that show. Just be thankful you get to see them at all. I still have to drive to Kelowna to see them in April.

I'm pretty much just holding on to a little glimmer of hope that they'll be there. It's not like I'll actually be upset if they're not on the bill.

Can someone verify that the Rural Alberta Advantage is something that I would hate so I don't have to spend time googling something that I'm going to hate?

Can someone verify that the Rural Alberta Advantage is something that I would hate so I don't have to spend time googling something that I'm going to hate? you'll probably hate them. My reasoning for this is that you have probably already come to that conclusion, and as such, you'll click play while looking for things to hate about them.

Whiny voice + saddle creek records is probably enough to make you hate it but they're pretty great

Whiny voice + saddle creek records is probably enough to make you hate it but they're pretty great Whoa whoa whoa, I had to jump into this one. Saddle Creek is my favorite record label. Lots of great bands on that label. I think you know which one I like the most.
