that's what i was thinking, except for wilco. but that sounds pretty bland. i love those bands--particularly the pixies. i feel like that would be less than a surprise for the 10-year anniversary. also, why would modest mouse be headliner material after having done nothing since the last time they played at sasquatch as non-headliners? The pixies haven't done anything new either, but they still rock. the lips would make sense...
Thanks, emstack, for the most worthless post in the history of the board. I'm making you a trophy.
Are you kidding me?????? It's all there, READ IT AGAIN. Even Switch got it straight away! The sources were obviously credible, the post was way too original to ever be made up, and it's not like this guy only has 8 posts, he has 9!
Switch, bless your heart, those are some SOLID guesses.
Alright friend saw the lineup early again this year. Again won't tell me everything, but he has some sad news. The lineup he saw has no Arcade Fire.
He'll only do hints again. He didn't see a ranked list, but he said he could pretty easily guess which are the headliners. All three headliners, he says, are bands that have been at Sasquatch before. Two of them were there in 2008. Two were there in 2005.
So there you go.
3 = 2 + 2. Which year where the Foo Fighters there?
So I know this is going to sound stupid, but keep in mind that if I were lying, why would I wait until now to stir up false rumors? Seems stupid to me. Nonetheless, I have no hard evidence for my claims, so believe what you will.
I just spoke with a source I trust very much who claimed to have seen the lineup. I begged and begged, but he refused to even name the headliners. The only band he confirmed positively was The New Pornographers. They're Monday.
He also was willing to confirm that Phoenix, The Arcade Fire, and Soundgarden were all NOT on the lineup he saw, that Pavement was not, in the way he saw the lineup presented, headlining, and that all three headliners were, as he put it, "unexpected." He warned, however, that they are unexpected partly because they're KOL-style unproven headliners. That signals to me no Jack Johnson and no Pearl Jam (of course). He gave one last hint: the headliner Pavement leads into is not a US band.
Sorry I don't have anything more than that, and sorry I don't have evidence of any sort.
I was nicer last year, wasn't I?
Also I assume my source said three because Foo Fighters is a given. He's talking about the other three.
to be fair the couple posts this guy had last year came about this long before the line up and explicitly ruled out a lot of artists that weren't there. If he's telling the truth though this is gonna be a disappointing list of headliners. I'm not expecting anything huge but something unexpected would be nice and 3 repeats (one being a third timer) is boring
