Also, The Thermals are playing the launch party, right? Shouldn't they be listed as expected? Or is there already evidence they won't be there? Well considering that both bands that played at the Launch Party last year (Surfer Blood, Atlas Sound) didn't play the actual festival, I don't think that necessarily means The Thermals will play Sas.

There's this phenomenon; Ween fans hate Sonic Youth, and Sonic Youth fans hate Ween. It's like the 'Yr either a Beatles man or an Elvis man' thing. I hate Sonic Youth. Like, that is the most desperately uninteresting music to me in the fucking world, it makes Arcade Fire sound like George Gershwin. I felt the same way for a long time and while there is still a large portion of their catalog that bores me to tears, I've found a huge amount of their music to be really enjoyable. Like the album Washing Machine, most of it is inane bullshit but there are a couple really great tracks on there.

Last year taught us the valuable lesson that the bands at the launch party are not necessarily going to play the festival. Although this time around we do know that at least one of the bands playing the party, Das Racist, is playing Sasquatch so maybe this year there's more of a possibility.

This explains a lot because sonic youth is one of my favorite bands and I've never enjoyed ween

To go back to the montage, the first track sounds an awful lot like the opening of Crash Years by The New Pornographers (although 1. I'm probably biased because I thought they were great last year and 2. The montage obviously has worse sound quality), and one of the tracks is REALLY OBVIOUSLY Hey by Pixies. And if neither of those are right, don't worry, I certainly will leave forever.

Wouldn't be Sasquatch without the New Pornos...

That would satisfy the neko case requirement for Sasquatch....

Adam Snack's promised Neko should could play every year until the end of time as an apology for that one time when God tried to kill her while she was onstage.

Proving, once and for all, that Sasquatch is directly affiliated with God.

I had no idea there was a Ween vs Sonic Youth thing. I wonder if the bands know this?

I was having a conversation about Sonic Youth two nights ago, and told my superfan friend how much I don't like them. Sonic Youth live was memorable for being one of the most boring shows I've witnessed.

Yep, I like Ween and I don't like Sonic Youth. The theory is correct. My friends and I used to eat XTC or hallucinogens and listen to the Pod for hours.

Nah dude, ecstasy and 'The Pod' pretty much seals it. That says a lot about a dude. Yr in.
