Even if the guy didn't see the lineup odds are he's right. Basically he just said "it's a lot like last year but not quite as good." I've been saying don't expect big headliners or reunions for months and I have no inside knowledge at all from Adam Zacks own Mouth........... 2011 is the festival’s 10 year anniversary. We’ve been stockpiling a list of cool ideas with the intent of unleashing them next year. So there has to be something on the horizon. Doesn't have to be big, But it has to be different. Arcade Fire, Modest Mouse , Wilco doesn't fit the bill, (although I am a fan of the Bands) They seem the same old sasquatch. What? "We've been stockpiling a list of cool ideas." There, that's the statement. That's your evidence. Let's see what conclusions you drew from it: "There has to be something on the horizon." I agree; that is a logical conclusion to draw from his statement. Let's continue. "Doesn't have to be big" I agree! Thank you for keeping your expectations grounded and realistic. "But it has to be different" Wait, you're losing me. What does that mean? Are you suggesting that the last 9 years of this festival haven't featured "cool ideas"? Does "cool ideas" really translate into "we're gonna get new and different this year, folks"? Please show your work. "Arcade Fire, Modest Mouse , Wilco doesn't fit the bill," What bill? The bill you drew for yourself? Actually, that's fine; just make sure you are intellectually honest with us by saying "doesn't fit my bill." "They seem the same old sasquatch." See above for my concerns with this line of thinking. Okay, in my own conclusion, I've determined that the point at which you fucked up was your decision to turn a vague, innocuous, marketingspeak statement from AZ into carte blanche to write off entirely realistic headliners (Arcade Fire, anyway), because you, in your head, decided to interpret that singular statement in a way that doesn't exactly conform to reality.

It's a message board and anyone has a right to post anywhere. People choose the weirdest times to use the word "right."

I agree with everything I8 said but I just want to say its pretty hysterical that we took one statement from Adam Zachs from a long time ago to mean there will be some earth shattering revelation coming soon. The dude is hyping up his festival and really isn't the most trustworthy source. For all we know the big reveal is going to be an art installation or an acoustic stage or nothing at all.
regarding APC: Wouldn't shock me at all and I'd be fine with them. Maybe they could headline monday but I think they'd fit better as a sub underneath the foo's on Friday

God damn, they would be a freakin perfect sub for the Foo. Good thought on that.

one of the festivals APC is headlining has had these headliners for the past 3 years:
2009: Shinedown, Finger Eleven, Theory of a Deadman, Default 2010: The Offspring, Papa Roach, Chevelle, Matthew Good 2011: A Perfect Circle, Sublime w/ Rome, Three Days Grace, Seether
I cannot see A Perfect Circle headlining a night at the 10th anniversary of Sasquatch. sub-subheadliner I could see. APC, QOTSA, FF to close the night or something along those lines.

Shut up Sublime fans.

Listen. I8. Hasn't Arcade fire played Sasquatch 2 times? Modest mouse - 3 Times. Those are cool Ideas to have them back again? And did I write off any headliners? ? where does it say that I wrote off those headliner to quote your own words "because you, in your head, decided to interpret that singular statement in a way that doesn't exactly conform to reality." I am not saying Arcade Fire will not be there or the other bands that I listed. I am Just holding out hope for a headliner that will be something special. Adam Zack has built up Anticipation for this 10 Anniversary Festival. That was my Point. And since when is something that is written not open for interpretation. You took liberties with what I said, espeicially saying that Arcade fire is not a realistic headliner. When it is obvious, I meant that they do not fit the bill with " cool Ideas", because they have been there before. But when AZ makes a statment like that I automatically think there is going to be some differences or changes to this years Sasquatch. When I read the Adam Zacks, quote last year, I immediately thought Radiohead, that is my interpretation, someone else might have thought differently.

funnygrrl, I am in no way entering this argument, or trying to be malicious. But I lol at your capitalization techniques. It makes me feel like I'm reading Emily Dickinson. Keep it up.

"I am not saying Arcade Fire will not be there or the other bands that I listed. I am Just holding out hope for a headliner that will be something special."
I am in full support of this statement. The hype for this 10th anniversary is almost overwhelming. I too am holding onto hope for that 'special' headliner. It's feeling more and more that we're not going to get anything special beyond a 4th day. I'm going regardless and have complete confidence I'll have the time of my life, don't get me wrong, but I also want that shocker headliner like Radiohead, Daft Punk, Pearl Jam, or Soundgarden. Instead we'll probably get the Pixies, Wilco, and Arcade Fire.
I'm kind of hoping that Black Keys gets promoted to headliner status. I think they'd kill it on Monday night.
Another band I keep hearing to be at Sasquatch is the Decemberists. I've checked them out and enjoy them, but I have no idea what type of draw they are.

I can say in no uncertain terms with zero confidence that Temple of the Dog will be the big suprise.
And Matt Good is the shit....just never could be bothered to cross the border.

The hype for this 10th anniversary is almost overwhelming. The hype from WHO? Don't say from the Sasquatch people, because they've kept their mouth shut (aside from AZ mentioning some "special" things for the fest months and months and months ago). It's been almost 100% the fans that, like every year, have hyped the shit out of it and have formed some outrageous pipe dreams. Don't be pissed at the organizers when the second coming of Christ isn't a headliner.

The "big surprises," could easily just be the new late night sets (2010) and the 4th day (2011). I personally hope there is more to it than that, but going into it with those expectations is pretty safe.
