Speaking of pills.. with all the extacy / PMMA deaths lately, do you think people will shy away from using at sasq this year?
Or are we going to have a bunch of deaths?

Hopefully not. Scary though, considering the batch seems to have hit Western Canada, it's not a stretch to think some of the bad shit will make it's way down to Sasquatch.
Careful kids. Trust yo dealer or use a testing kit.

And I do not think people will shy away from it. There is this whole new rave culture with the youngs and if anything I would think you would have more MDMA use.

Yeah, I live right in the middle of it, some guy in my town nearly died about a month ago (which is a pretty big deal for a population of roughly 10,000) from my understanding it either gets you really high, or kills you in less than an hour. Also apparently it won't show up on tests. Bummer really.

I looked it up on Wikipedia. Apparently what ends up being fatal is rapid hyperthermia and raising of the blood pressure and heart rate. Just a little of the substance will not necessarily be fatal but it is effective in much lower doses that normal ecstasy. Just glancing around it seems like the common test kits don't test for it but there are some that will.
Incidentally, the Wikipedia for MDMA is very interesting. The following snippets are from Wikipedia.
"There have been a number of deaths attributed to para-Methoxyamphetamine (PMA), a potent and highly neurotoxic hallucinogenic amphetamine, being sold as ecstasy.[85][86] PMA is unique in its ability to quickly elevate body temperature and heart rate at relatively low doses, especially in comparison to MDMA. Hence, a user believing he is consuming two 120 mg pills of MDMA could actually be consuming a dose of PMA that is potentially lethal, depending on the purity of the pill. Not only does PMA cause the release of serotonin but it also acts as a monoamine oxidase inhibitor, MAOI. When combined with an MDMA or an MDMA-like substance, serotonin syndrome can result."
"Unlike other similar drugs of this family, PMA does not produce stimulant, euphoriant, or entactogen effects,[3] and behaves more like an antidepressant in comparison,[citation needed] though it does have some psychedelic properties.[4][5]"

I think it is much better to be educated on it beyond "there is some crazy shit that might kill you." It is a real thing and it has to be acknowledged somehow. More reason to really know who you are dealing with.

The sad thing is many of these kids will look right past all the bad shit, and see "psychedelic properties".

Valentine's day was last month. Shut up. This is the day where we revel in the fact that we can awesome things you can't and we have lovely body parts that don't look like someone put them together in the dark.

Or we could just get inspired:
"Feminism has fought no wars. It has killed no opponents. It has set up no concentration camps, starved no enemies, practiced no cruelties. Its battles have been for education, for the vote, for better working conditions, for safety on the street, for child care, for social welfare, for rape crisis centers, women’s refugees, reforms in the law. If someone says:‘Oh, I’m not a feminist,’ I ask ‘Why? What’s your problem?’" -Dale Spender
Happy International Women's Day!

Is that the slogan of the feminist movement? I'd be a little embarrassed if the whole point of my gender's international recognition day was to ogle over my body parts and point at the other gender for doing "less awesome" things. I like weenie's message better.

Today I reflect upon the achievements we have made towards equality and also the leaps and strides that still need to be made. I think about loving all of my brothers and sisters and how I can try to bring us closer together. I know this sounds really corny, but it is something that I feel very passionate about. I want us all to get the respect we deserve.
