i heard the showers at the gorge have a very long wait and the water can be hit or miss. Not if you stand directly under it... BWAHAHA! WIN!

The paid showers were hot every time we used them last year and no one I knew waited more than an hour or so. Yup. I was more than happy to fork over $3 for a wonderful and hot shower. The line for girls was always pretty long, but if I got in line before 8-9am I never waited more than 15 minutes or so.

I've got the super curly hair, but I'm coming armed with 2 solar showers and a private showering enclosure so I can shower whenever I want. My previous plan was just to boil water and use a collapsable pail to dunk my head in. My hair is really low maintenance though. If I get it wet and brush it, then let it air dry, it always turns out fantastic.

That's awesome! I hate having in between hair. I wish it would just make up it's damn mind and be curly or straight. Stupid cowlicks.

Girly packing list: I know there’s plenty of other things to pack, like, say, a tent, but I just figured I’d focus on the girly things to pack. I am probably forgetting some girly essentials, so feel free to throw up your lists. :-) Hair:-dry shampoo. I snubbed an aerosol can version. Its great because it sucks out the oil and gives me great volume. -hair ties and bobby pins -travel sized hair spray Shoes:-Rainboots – heard it may wanna rain next week. Always make sure you’ve got rubbers, girls ;-) -1 pair of closed toes shoes for the days you’ll be in the pit – like TOMS or Chucks - 1-2 pairs of comfy sandals (depending on what I wear, I’ll pack black and brown) Just grabbed a super cheap pair off of endless.com for free overnight shipping ( www.endless.com/Gomax-Womens-Berdine-31-Ankle-Strap-Sandal/dp/B004JU386U/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&cAsin=B004JU5REG&fromPage=search&sr=1-2&qid=1305655816476&asins=B004JU6XT4%2CB004JU5REG%2CB004JTXWUS%2CB004JTXY7O%2CB004JU7046&asinTitle=Gomax%20Berdine-31%20Ankle-Strap%20Sandal&contextTitle=search%20results&clientPageSize=100&node=241745011&sort=relevance-fs-rank&keywords=Gomax+Berdine+31) Why have I never heard of this website before?! Clothes:-4-5 sundresses -my black romper -poncho or rain jacket -more undies than you need. -I’m fine with wearing a bra, but most of my outfits don’t need ‘em. That, and I’m not super well-endowed, but bring a sports bra, bathing suit top, bra, strapless bra, bandeau, etc. whatever you need to hold yo’ titties. -When the sunsets: -2 cardigans -thick leggings -skinny jeans -hoodie OR my Sasquatch track jacket from last year :-) For the camp site:-simple make-up necessities like bronzer, mascara, and face moisturizer. I don’t like wearing a lot of make up. And I especially don’t like wearing a lot of make-up in the middle of a sweaty day. -Sunscreen – and facial sunscreen if you break out easily -a few gallon sized Ziploc baggies so I can safely tote my phone and camera around during the day. -garbage bags – especially for your dirty clothes, but mostly for keeping your campsite clean. Toiletries/bathing shizz:-travel sized wet wipes. I’d rather not mess with the TP in the Honey Buckets, so last year, I toted around wipes in my bag. It helped make me feel a little bit cleaner since I was walking around in dirt and sweat all day. -travel hand-sanitizer. Trust me, you’ll need it! -SHOWER SHOES! Don’t. Forget. ‘Em. -travel sized body splash to carry around throughout the day. ( I just grabbed a 3oz something-something from the Victoria Secret Pink line last year and still have a ton left over) -If you’re on some kinda oral contraceptive, don’t forget that! And if you’re not, you may wanna pack some, ahem, sanitary products just in case. -travel shampoo and body wash (I prefer Dr. Bronner’s all-in-one soap. I just lather up and cover myself in head to toe. Its perfect since the showers don’t stay warm long. www.drbronner.com/)-2 towels. One to take into the fest if you want to sit on the hill and one for showers. Misc:-Sunglasses -Nalgene bottle. -fuel food. Peanuts, energy bars, etc -BEER! a LOT of it! That’s all for now, but I’ll definitely be revising this as we get closer and closer!

Hey everyone! Awesome thread idea. The last time I went to a music festival was pemberton and i was not that prepared. Here is what i've learned/gathered from the interwebs: waterproof mascara if you need a primer and want to cut down on items, MAC face primer SPF 50, is a great idea back up contact lens case.. try to get the ones that are safe to pass out drunk in. wet wipes, and facial wipes. For those on a budget, walmart sells Equate wipes for $3.00. Huggies wet wipes are super cheap too.. i think they are a dollar at walmart. dry shampoo! ranges from 7.50-14.00. Klorane and Batiste seems to be rated high on makeupalley.com for curly hair: when wet, just braid it or throw it in a bun 1: imabeautygeek.com/2011/04/19/video-how-to-the-messy-topknot/2.http://joannagoddard.blogspot.com/2011/03/three-twisted-buns.html 3. braid across and throw the rest into a low bun 4 when wet, just braid it and when it dries undo it. 5. not sure if hairspray is a good idea.. maybe pomade or a brushable hairspray? Plus everything that CatSquatch said!

What is the fee to use the paid showers? I might end up getting a solar shower if it's highway robbery. Thanks Cat. I will look into it at Ulta. I dont really want to deal with flat ironing my hair, especially when I prefer it curly but its a either I get ritzy up in there or I rock the Buckwheat for at least 2 days.

The paid showers are only $3. The line for the women's showers gets pretty long the later into the morning it gets, but the girls in my group that used them last year said it was worth every minute they had to wait. I used them for two of the days and it was definitely refreshing to clean off all of the dirt, sweat, and shame.

I have been on this board long enough to ask a question that has probably been answered because I feel like it and you are all going to have to deal with it:
I heard the showers are open 24 hours a day, is this correct?

I THINK I remember people showering after they got back from the festival at night. I could be wrong though...

I have a fuzzy memory of seeing times posted but that may have only been for hot showers? I know one of my friends said he had a free luke-warm shower at like 6 at night when he couldn't get back into the concert.

kymess for the win. They aren't open constantly because they get fucking filthy, and need to be cleaned. Definitely not a 24 hr. Service.

Damn, I was planning on sneaking over at like 3am and walking right in without a wait. Well, I'll still be up at 6am so that will work just as well I guess.
