And if you need an excuse to buy another bag, I really like LeSportsac's brand. Haha. love this.

Well, we all need "excuses", right? And if you're still looking, American Eagle has some cute bags at a cheaper price. I wouldn't condone it since I used to work for their corporate headquarters and their company is awful, but if counting money is your thing, as it is mine, I'd suggest a few pieces here: www.ae.com/web/browse/product.jsp?catId=cat90052&productId=0427_7828

Which is more preferable? A small backpack or side bag? I had a side bag last year and it got pretty heavy, so I'm contemplating getting a small, lightweight backpack. Possibly something big enough to hold LPs. My friend had a backpack last year and we loaded it with a monster stack of Pavement albums we bought. I'm not too sure if I'll buy any merch this year, since I'll be hitting up stores in Seattle and San Fran. Also bought my TOMS! They're so comfy! I had to spring for the lace-up ones because I'm between sizes with the slip-ons I also realized I could have tried the men's sizes after the fact, but I'm happy with them:

I highly recommend a small backpack. It is easy to carry and having layers and snacks makes a big difference for me.
I rocked some leggings (they are kind of like excercise pants, thicker than leggings) and t-shirts last year and sometimes rocked my skirts. I have this really awesome one that is shiny and silver that I love to wear at night. I am all about comfort so I always make sure I have a few lightweight layers with me just in case.

1- I applied at AE once and had a really awful experience in a group interview. Retail isn't my thing so I wouldn't have been happy with it even if I'd gotten called back. 2- That bag is way cute.

Undoubtedly I'll end up with some kind of swag. I also didn't realize they sold LPs at festivals.

Yeah, there was a record store from Seattle there and they sold LPs, CDs, and DVDs. They had a pretty good selection. My only beef with the other merch tables is the selection. One or two shirts from the bigger headliners is not good enough in my books.

There's generally shirts and various merch for most of the acts on the lineup for the day, as well as the cool Sasquatch merch. There's never a shortage of stuff I wanna buy at Sasquatch, but the last thing I'm going to want to do is buy any vinyl and carry it around all day. It's going to be unwieldy at best, and at worst there is a good chance it will warp in the heat before I get it home.

^Yes!
I liked the record store. I thought it was cool you could meet some of the bands and get their autographs, too. But I don't think I'd schlep any of that around.
As for the merch tables, I learned my lesson. If you see something you want, buy it ASAP. They'll be all gone by the last day when you and everyone else wants something.
I usually wear an XS or S tee-shirt and they were all swiped up. I ended up having to get a zip up track jacket in men's M. I still love it, but its not something I generally wear if I'm out and about. Its more of a comfy sweatshirt for lazy days.

I got one of those track jackets last year. I love it. Best of all, it is the perfect amount of insulation for weather at the Gorge.

Retail is bad, yes. Working for the corporate headquarters getting paid a little over minimum wage to fold clothes in their "lab" is even worse. The best part, however, is getting to fold those clothes with the cattiest females on the planet. Lunch break was like being in middle school all over again. If you find yourself looking into a job working for AE and particularly their headquarters, run in the opposite direction. 2. Yes, yes it is.

HEY I'M A LADY!
Last year (my first!) I wore sundresses & flip flops and packed a large hoodie for the nighttime, but even that turned out to be not enough to keep warm and I shivered through a lot of sets. This year I'll probably pack pants for sundown as well.
Oh, and find yourself a cute hat. I don't know about you guys but my hair got pretty funky just the 2nd day in. And I took a SHOWER.

Thanks to this thread (and the shoe thread too), I have ordered my first pair of Toms! They should arrive sometime in the next week. So excited!
