Yeah, aside from my ex dragging me to the dance floor. God, the music at high school dances was/is so terrible. God, popular music is terrible.

I dated a 29 year old when I was 19 for a short while. We were at way different places in our lives. Also he was an asshole.

I'll admit. Age differences can be a formula for disaster. Kind of like my 27-year old brother who is desperately in love with a slutty 19-year old. They are not a good fit at all, though you'd think they would be. You'd also think my bro is around 15-years old with the way that he acts and parties. He needs a more mature, grounded girl around his own age to get him on track. It'd also help if he stopped hanging out with his frat brothers. However, in my own experience, (((since I'm SUCH a mature, focused, grounded, and progressive female, right?!?! ))) I've just found I connect better with guys with a little more of their "party days" behind them. The last time I dated a guy my own age was when I was 20. This dude already had a DUI and because of it, couldn't drive a car, drank more than a fish, and had empty wine bottles all over his apartment. All he was concerned about was drinking and partying. Don't get me wrong, I love to have a few social beers, but when I have to be some chauffeur for an under-age alcoholic, that's not my scene or my type of guy.

I'm 20 right now and I've come to realize that I better wait until I graduate to try to meet anyone worthwhile because boys my age don't tend to cut it.
Anyways, sorry to redirect the thread but I wanted to get your opinions on maxi dresses. I don't wear short dresses but I'm worried about how a long dress will fare in the pit. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Yay!! I like older boys. I've never dated anyone my own age because I usually find those guys immature. Any time I thought I liked guys my age (and if they liked me), I always end up feeling like they are just friends. It's weird.

Does anyone have any experience with this? I always wear long skirts and have not had a problem when I am down there. I am not ever really in there for rowdy acts, though. I don't think it will be an issue.

I don't know, for some reason I just can't really get into the whole maxi dress trend. It strikes me as something my mom would wear and I'm just not ready to make that leap yet. Like Stormy, I'd rather just wear a skirt or a shorter dress. Also, I think I'd find a way to end up tripping over a maxi dress.

I definitely trip on my skirt sometimes, but it is usually my fault and because I am in an altered state of consciousness at Sasquatch.

If someone stepped on your dress/skirt, there's potential for some kind of exposure. Increased risk with intoxication.

pvmtchiic, your sig reminded me of these wonderful Toms I got emailed about the other day. I was pretty set on not buying new shoes, but my roommate just got some, and when it comes to shopping I'm awful at peer pressure.

Anyways, sorry to redirect the thread but I wanted to get your opinions on maxi dresses. I don't wear short dresses but I'm worried about how a long dress will fare in the pit. Does anyone have any experience with this? I live in sundresses at festivals. And all summer, quite frankly. Sometimes maxis can teeter on a maternity-type-looking dress, but I wore a strapless maxi and its one of my favorite dresses. I got from some hand-me-down store (Plato's Closet) originally from Old Navy for $3 last year. I looooove it. Personally, I like maxis. They are feminine and flowy. They drag and will get dirty if you wear them to a fest (well, I'm barely 5'2'', so everything is too long on me), but the best part of coming home from a festival is washing your clothes! I don't worry about tripping over my clothes because I'd do it with or without a long dress. I'm clumsy. A lot of people gush over Forever21, but I rarely get anything from there. Though the clothes are disposable and can work as festival threads, there are plenty of other places to nab some cute/cheap dresses. H&M, Old Navy, thrift stores, Plato's Closet, etc. Happy Shopping! -EDIT- Chaco--I love those TOMS! Saw those on their web page a few days ago. I have been obsessed with my olive green ones ever since they were send to me in the middle of last month and I'm ready to get another pair. I'm going to have to invest in even more skinny jeans now!

I wish I could find rompers that actually fit my body. They're always too short for my torso so if i move my shoulders, I give myself a wedgie

Yeahhh...rompers are super cute, but hard to fit. Surprisingly, I got my plain black one from the Pink section at Victoria's Secret last year. Its not amazing, but I wore it with a cardigan last year. It'll do. My complaint about rompers on me is my stumpy little legs Ohhh well--that's why I've been trying to start a running routine lately!
