Just dropping in here to commend the multiple uses of the term "floatplane," instead of that moronic term, "seaplane." Carry on.

Floatplane is just a more specific type of seaplane, but both are acceptable terms.
EDIT: No more geeking out from me. Sorry for getting this thread so off topic!

However, it's more of a lingo term than a factional term. Most people don't know the definition, they just call them a floatplane or a seaplane, regardless of if it's a flying boat or an actual floatplane. Floatplane = Seaplane for 99% of the continent, and those calling them seaplanes suck.

Haha well of course I would reply with that. It's required that I know and correctly refer to individual aircraft categories, classes, and types. And I know you don't give a shit, but the FAA classification of an airplane is officially broken down into "land" and "sea" class ratings, and then even more specifically depending on whether they are single or multi-engine. So really, seaplane is quite an acceptable and official term for an amphibious airplane. ...but I've always called it a floatplane so I guess we're on the same page

It got real nerdy in here real fast! I like it. I don't really have anything to be nerdy about though.. unless we want to talk about math.

Pea- Some girls are stupid. That is all Tash- Maybe we can add airplanes together sometime or something. I'm moving to Vancouver in September! Gahhh Kate Hudson.. You're just trying to make me look bad. Most of the musers I know have issues with her cuz they all have some kind of creepy obsession with Matt. I don't share this obsession, but I never really like Kate. I don't really know her, but I feel like Matt's kids have potential to be freakin brilliant, but maybe not so much with Kate. But really, I don't care. It's not really my business, and he writes much better music when he's happy. Have you ever heard Soaked or Neutron Star Collison? He wrote those after his last breakup. EW. Maybe we found something else I can be kind of nerdy about. I'll stop typing now.

Everything else is fair game for my nerdiness. And Pea--Some girls take every opportunity they can to dress slutty. Are those leather boots? And to the girls--this sounds silly, but what are some shaving suggestions you have out there? I did a quick dry shave in the car last year, but my skin ended up getting so irritated it looked like I had ant bites all over my legs--kinda felt like it too. Nair/Veet is shit and doesn't work on me. Its no use shaving in the -3 degree showers because the hair just grows back in the shower! Shaving at sasquatch = fail.

I didn't really think about how awful it would be to shave! I have shaved before while camping before, I just used a bucket of water, and some soap. And don't fall ploy to the women's razors. I haven't bought one in years. Men's razors are so much better and they last longer. I have never had a faster, nicer shave than with the fusion one for men. It's fantastic.

Souly and Wintermoon--thanks for the suggestions!
I never thought I'd have a problem shaving too, but it was rough.
Intuition is a good suggestion. I haven't used one of those since they first came out with that dumb commercial with Jewel singing the jingle. May have to revisit it.
And Souly--I usually use men's razor's too. They seem to do a better job than any ladies razor I've used. I'm a big advocate for the 3+ blade disposables.

I tried the intuition.. I don't like it. They get clogged up too easily and there's nothing really you can do about it besides change the blade, and that gets expensive.

I think that's why I gave up on it a few years ago! Good reminder. I hate how easily it gets clogged. Pounding your razor on the shower wall like an idiot is annoying enough.

Exactly! And if you try that with the intuition, the built in soap just explodes everywhere. YAY.

I had a few girl friends at summer camp growing up who would shave with lotion. I tried that once, but my skin got too irritated from the oils and fragrances in the lotions.

let's see if i've got it all... you can't shave in cold water, or with lotion, or do a dry shave. You don't use nair and you clog up girly razors - so you use 3-bladed men's razors.
You really are Madame Mim, aren't ya?
