I'm trying to budgetize my vacations this summer, but I love getting new sundresses/outfits for festivals. I was thinking that with it being winter and all, perhaps there are some good finds out there. With a quick browse, here's what I came up with: piperlime.gap.com/browse/category.do?cid=77663I like Piperlime. They're owned by Gap. You can get shoes, bags, clothes and accessories. They're having a "Fab 50 under $50 sale". Right now, there are some really cute flowy maxi dresses on sale from like, $75+ down to about $15. The catch? Its final sale and I've got the type of body where I need to try on EVERYTHING before I buy it. So, for those of y'all who have better luck with online shopping, there are some good things there. www.victoriassecret.com/clothing/beach-dresses?pageAt=allI'm not the biggest Victoria's Secret fan, but they carry some awesome sun/beach dresses. I've stocked up on several. I am not overwhelmingly impressed with their sale at the moment, but there is a cute on one there called "Beach Dress" starting at $19. Pretty decent. www.roxy.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=3369317&cp=4264763&fbx=0&fbc=1&fbc=1&f=Taxonomy%2FROXY%2F4264767&f=Taxonomy%2FROXY%2F3369317&fbn=Taxonomy|Dresses&view=allI don't think I've EVER purchased anything from Roxy before, but goodness, there are some great sales going on. Like AH-mazing sales. With some super cute summer dresses. Come payday, they may be getting my business! Dresses on sale starting at $9? It doesn't get much better than that. And of course, there are the usual suspects like Forever21. I've made it pretty obvious that I'm not the biggest fan of that store, particularily because I get so overwhelmed with the disorganization, but I'll likely at least browse soon. And there's Target, too. I'm also thinking about going to a consignment store--y'all heard of Plato's Closet? Its a brand name consignment store catered to High School-Young adults/broke adults like myself. They have a few stores here in Atlanta. And I have had some good luck there with dresses. I found a fun maxi that was from Old Navy and still had the tag on it there on sale for $7. It was the tops. How about you guys? Any stores I didn't mention that are worth checking out? I've got the shopping bug.

Oh my , there’s some gorgeous little dresses there! I really love that beach blanket coverup one from Roxy. Unfortunately, I’m always drawn to stuff like that that looks really awesome on tall skinny chicks, and then I wear it and look like a “curvy” stump. I find I definitely have to try stuff on as well. I’ve been putting myself to sleep at night thinking about Sasquatch outfits lately. I always put so much time and thought into what to wear each day before we go, and then end up pulling out the same dress every year. Stupid breakfast beers!

I also plan outfits specifically for festivals (and everthing else, frankly)! Before I became a super academic, honor roll geek, fighting for social rights, I was going to go to fashion school. So primarily, I have visions/daydreams in my head of certain events or moments and what I'm wearing, then I sketch it, then I try to find pieces in stores that are inline with that sketch - which is not ALWAYS the best, because I can be ahead of the curve on things but I modify as I go along.
ANYWAY, you named some good ones. I personally order online from Forever 21 - although I prefer their line Love 21, the clothes are sharper/look more expensive/hold up better and are my style. Ordering online means you don't have to deal with the craziness of the stores. I also ONLY SHOP ON SALE. Unless the item is like literally life or death, have to have, I'm at the sale rack.
I also shop here (almost always online): delias.com Cute clothes, nonstop sales. Mostly a house brand but I scored an awesome Steve Madden cape from them! gap.com Classic stuff that's awesome. abercrombie.com I dig a lot of the feminine summerwear and their long lasting winterwear but don't dig the skyrocket prices, low lighting, overwhelming perfume smell and thumping techno. They have sales CONSTANTLY. There is a 50% off sale on right meow as I type this. modcloth.com If you're into that vintage thang - which I am - this is a great place. Go to sale, because vintage/vintage inspired almost always = expensive. Love 21 (http://www.forever21.com/Product/Category.aspx?br=love21&category=love21_main) lulus.com topshop.com alloy.com asos.com etsy.com

You girls scare me. I have 2 pairs of jeans and about 5 shirts. I never wear accessories other than the occasional earrings and a necklace that my family got me for my birthday. I own one pair of sunglasses that are at least a year old. I never plan out my outfits in advance, and I probably never match. I also wear the same pair of shoes for an entire season or until they get worn out.

How you feel when you wear something, how practical it is for your life and your demeanor while you wear something is way more important than what it looks like! I'm just a clothes freak. I'm sure you are adorable, Souly! Thanks, Drew.

This thread just makes me feel like a weirdo for hating shopping. I'll probably wear the same pair of shorts for the whole weekend. Maybe I'll bring a backup pair.

Also, not to take away from your awesome organizational and planning skills, but the boy and I split up last night, I found out that I'm not getting a promotion at work, and I had to do extra work today because everyone else at my job felt like slacking off. It has not been a very good birthday week.
Advice time: Is it normal for guys to want to be 'best friends' after you just had the biggest fight ever and agreed that it's not going to work? I'm so confused by this and I just want to get over him. I feel like it's some kind of trick.

It depends on the person. I'm best friends with some of my exes but it usually happens a while after. I think that you should take some alone time from him if you need to get over him and maybe reconsider being friends again when you're ready. That may never happen and it is totally okay.

I won't say much cuz I learned my lesson last time.. but yeah I think I really need some time to myself, and he's not really letting me have that. He's been texting me all day. I don't really know what to do. He still wants me to come over one Monday night like I was going to originally, but I just want to get my stuff and go.

I would go over and do just that. Get your stuff and get out of there. Good luck, Souly!

I would say that either A) He's got a guilty conscience probably over missing your birthday and being inattentive in general and wants to feel good about himself, or B) He wants to see if he can break off some ex-girlfriend ass, (which in my experience is really awesome ass,) and if he's had a similar experience then that's what he's cruising for and you should have him fedex your stuff because that's a bad situation.

I don't really know. It wasn't really a messy breakup or anything, and I think I would work things out with him if he started putting more effort in to it. I know he cares about me a lot. The guy can hardly stand to be away from me for a day. It's just a really weird situation, and I'm pretty sure I was dating a 22 year old man child. I should really shut up now before he reads this.

Can you cook and clean and do your own laundry? Can you buy groceries that don't include stuff your mom brings your or dollar store food? Does your idea of a good meal consist of 2 boxes of KD and a box of spaghetti mixed in to one big bowl? Do you ask your girlfriend to change your bandage on the wound you got from fooling around at work?
I'm going to be in shit again if he decides to stalk me. You guys are bad influences

Is he a board lurker because he's into Sasquatch or to spy on you? That is creepy.
