I think it's safe to say that the overall consensus of us are pretty much expecting our headliners to be: Foo Fighters/Arcade Fire/Pixies/Wilco with Pulp and the Black Keys as the two most common outside possibilities. Pulp isn't really a 'possibility', almost all of the talk about Pulp has been strictly wishful thinking.

Possibilities of The Cars or Phish?
Discuss.

I'm really hoping for something along the lines of Paul Simon, Peter Gabriel or David Byrne. Something totally unexpected; something that people would bitch about incessantly until they started to play 'Graceland' or 'Sledgehammer' or 'Nothing But Flowers' and everyone shut up about it forever.

Back when MTV was still Music Television, Sledgehammer was the most played video of all time.

That's because it is one of the greatest videos of all time; arguably the best.

Peter Gabriel would be pretty damn unexpected. But it'd be incredible. I'm just not sure the Sasquatch mainstage is large enough for him to ride a bicycle around as he sings Solsbury Hill... www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMwn_hnoS5Y(didn't want to include the video in the post, just click on the link if you want to see it for yourself)

David Byrne would be amazing!!! I'd personally be happy if AF, Wilco, and (especially) the Pixies were the other headliners but it would be awesome if there were some big epic unexpected surprise(s) come Sunday that none of us saw coming (Aka I can't give up on my Radiohead pipe dream)

It's time to give up on the Radiohead pipe dream, everyone. Choose to be pleasantly surprised if they ARE there as opposed to bitterly disappointed when they aren't.

"The Flaming Lips- a possibility every year." <- from first post on this thread
A slim possibility this year, at best, given that they're playing Primavera. Whoever is updating the first post, please remove them from the "strong possibilities" category. Hell, I'd LOVE to see them again, but they're not likely to play here this year.

I think there's always at least a fifty percent chance that we'll see the Lips on the Squatch lineup.

I'd just imagine it's next to impossible for FL to get their live setup across the world in the span of a couple days

Well, the headlining acts generally have travel expenses covered by the festival. We know Adam Snack's loves the Lips, and that he's more than willing to shell out to haul their shit around (U.F.O. Show '08).
We also know that just about every other headlining act in the known universe is spoken for at this point.

yeah I definitely wouldn't take The Flaming Lips off any possibility list. I'm actually going to be a bit surprised if they're not listed in some regard.

Gaga was here last October or so.
I'm going to crawl in a hole and die if Gaga is on the lineup.
