I don't know if you monitor the Now Playing thread, I8, but if it makes you feel any better I waxed poetic about Modest Mouse in there a couple days ago.

He sigged my mea culpa.
Anyway, I think HG and I were talking about different aspects of this, but glad I could be more clear. And it is true, I still love their music. I just think Isaac Brock can be a little bitch sometimes. I think this may have a lot to do with running into him at our old 7-11 buying shit beer. Like, he is just another Portland hipster douche now, or something, in my mind.

HG: I have a hard time keeping up on that thread, and I've poked in a few times to see that it doesn't usually catch my interest. I'll try to revisit soon.
SP: Well that's just disappointing.

I know, and that is what I realized the other day and decided to just get over because that is ridiculous.

Off-topic, but sort of still on topic: My only brush with Isaac was when MM played a 2-night run at the Neurolux in Boise. He was at the bar getting some drinks and some guy shoved a friend of mine, drawing Isaac's attention. He looked at me and said "That looked like that was on purpose." I'll never forget that lisp.

I saw him walking around downtown Seattle near the Paramount in Seattle before a show once. I thought about approaching him but then I didn't.

Fucking love the Lux...I wish I had lived in Boise when MM was still playing at the neurolux

I fucking love Modest Mouse, and I'm going to get absolutely wrecked on a variety of substances and enjoy the shit out of them.

11.23.03: A little bit more is coming to me from that drunken night seeing them at the Lux. I recall asking Isaac,
"Hayyy, what was that nice song with the drum machine at the beginning you played?"
Isaac: Um, that was 'Float On'.
"That was a nice song. That's gonna take you to the top!"
Isaac: Ummm, thanks?

Haha awesome! I got to meet Isaac, Eric, and Johnny when I saw them play in Philly; which was coincidently my first real concert I ever attended.

My personal favorite song is Dramamine, but I'd say check out the album The Moon and Antarctica. I'm sure others will quickly jump on me, but that's my favorite. Paper Thin Walls is a fucking amazing song, and the best ringtone ever.

J Dub is correct in that you need to listen to The Moon and Antarctica first. Go from there, they are all pretty great, but that is required listening. I really can't believe anyone hasn't heard it, but you are a young lad and I will give you the benefit of your age.
