Sorry for the list HG, didn't have the energy to organize all of those into a paragraph.

I vote in favor of My Morning Jacket, Mumford & Sons, The Beautiful Girls, and Hugo. I can honestly say I don't know much about 95% of that list.

That's because it's probably 95% local artists.

This festival appeals to hippies. Yes, bands physically creating music near Memorial Day weekend would make them more likely to play at Sasquatch, but if you showed me any random list of this length, I would think I could find more than five Sasquatch 2011 possibilities.
With that said, I will be pissed if Wookiefoot doesn't play the Wookie/Bigfoot stage.

If nothing else it means Modeselektor will be stateside. Also, how can we not book a band called Wookiefoot?

Come on know, I create a thread with positive intentions and you jump all over it? Sounds familiar ;D I'm glad you two are getting along. In other news: www.wakarusa.com/2011/lineup.aspWakarusa's lineup, happening the weekend after Sasquatch (in arkansas). Not sure if it makes any of them less or more likely for Saquatch. Most of them are jam bands gearing up for bonaroo, but there are a few that would fit here: Thievery Corporation, Mumford & Sons, Ghostland Observatory, Modeselektor, Lucero, etc. I bet this counts Bassnectar out as I can't see him doing Summer Camp, then to the PNW, then back out east. And I'd really hope Ben Harper won't be back, but it is the 10th anniversary...

To clarify I was talking about Modeselektor, although Wookiefoot sounds too good to pass up.

Tried deleting the thread, didn't work. I'm out of here. Settle down man. My first reply was to point out Wakarusa usually has a lot of potential crossovers (jam bands excluded), but this year's lineup is amazingly non-Sasquatch. And some of those who are Sasquatch type bands have already played recently. It is unbelievably non-Wow. My second post was to point out that I agree with Leftwithagun's comments on Wakarusa, especially the Bassnectar traveling bit. If anything, we can use more specific threads on certain topics, so we don't have 29 page conversations about non-rumors. Wipe away your tears dude, I come in peace.

The Wakarusa lineup is one of the best festival lineup's since Rothbury '08 & '09 which I attended.. I made the long trek to Waka last year & it was the hottest ever, 102F with 80-90 Humidity. This festival is great & all about late night, with shows going on until 4am every night on multiple stages (4 nights). This is one of the things Sasquatch is missing.
If you took the lineup's that Wakarusa Staff put's together each year & combined it with The Gorge site you would have the #1 festival in the U.S. Bar Freaking None!
That's right Adam Zacks: When you go after all Indie & Alternative Rock Headliners. You are catering to canadian hipsters. Which is ok if the fest was in Canada.. Bring in more eclectic groups & maybe Sasquatch could top Coachella as being the top festie on the Left Coast..
Sasquatch has been labled as an Indie festival and is right up there with the Picthfork music festival as top Indie fest. Let's break out of our Minor League Festival Shell & move up to the Big Leagues.
One of you said they hadn't heard of most of the bands in the Wakarusa Lineup.. Well, you must not be a fan of live music.. That is one of the best lineup's any festie has had to offer in the past 5 years.. That is, as far as live music is concerned. You must be the type of person that just listen's to everyone's album & doesn't take into account that they may sound even better live. Go see some live shows..
Wakarusa 2011 Lineup Highlights: STS9 Thievery Corporation (Known for great live performances) Bassnectar (Best Dubstep in the US) Umphrey's McGee (Chicago Jam/Rock at it's Finest) Modeselektor (Thom Yorke's Fav. Artist) Shpongle Hallucinogen Lotus (Best Jamtronica show going right now..) New Deal Skrillex JJ Grey & Mofro (Swampy Blues for the Soul) Dark Star Orchestra Trombone Shortly & Orleans Avenue (Best Brass of the Festie Circuit) Perpetual Groove Cornmeal (Chicago Bluegrass) EOTO (Best Live Electric Act Out There) Beats Antique (Belly Dancing Music) Stanton Warriors Big Gigantic (Voted Best New Electronic Act & Great Sax player) Here Come The Mummies (Awesome Comedy Funk) Ott Two Fresh Resident Anti-Hero (From Washington State)

Dude, we're not going to your shitty festival in Arkansas, but enjoy yourself. Bassnectar (Best Dubstep in the US) EOTO (Best Live Electric Act Out There) This is just silly.
