If Daft Punk headlines Coachella and not Sasquatch I might just cry. Scratch that, I WILL cry. That is why I am going to coachella, I think there is a better chance that Daft Punk will be there.

Am I in the minority in saying Sasquatch '10 had hands down the best lineup out of Lolla and Coach?

Yeah I rented a condo in palm springs, ( I know it's far) but my husband and I are going stay for a week. so we are ahead of the game too. I agree with you that Coachella constantly has the best line-up except for lolla 2008, that was the best lineup ever for a festival, RATM and Radiohead as the headliners. we had so much fun. I agree, Lollapalooza 2008 was too great to skip. Like you mentioned, Radiohead and Rage Against the Machine was more than worth the trip, but NIN's Light in the Sky v. Kanye West was pretty great too. They had a really weak undercard though, and (speaking from shady memory), Perry's tent was just DJs, not actual big electronic draws like it is now. I've almost pulled the trigger on the last two Lollas. Headliners aside, the festival experience at Lolla is about fifteen steps below Sasquatch. As for my thoughts on Daft Punk, I think there is a 0.5% chance they will be at Sasquatch, and a 5% chance they will be at Coachella. I hope I'm wrong though.

Am I in the minority in saying Sasquatch '10 had hands down the best lineup out of Lolla and Coach? It's a tough call because Sasquatch has fewer stages, hence fewer acts. But you see the same amount of bands at each festival, and for my money Sasquatch and Coachella were about tied. It's tough to top Gorillaz, Orbital, Fever Ray and a few other acts Coach drew, but MA was excellent as well. PS My only Coachella was 2006 - and yes, I was down in front at the debut of the pyramid, when DP fever was born.

Daft punk at sasquatch. If that happens I am going to overdose on serotonin. On the other hand if they only play at coachella, I will be very bummed. If I had the money I would go to coachella in a heartbeat.

Daft Punk will play every major festival except Sasquatch.
Face it, the French hate us.

I don't know the 2008 undercard was pretty good, the food and beer is better( and cheaper), but I agree he atmosphere is not as good.

Thanks for reminding me how underwhelming the Lollapalooza 2008 lineup was minus the headliners. Looking back at any festival 2.5 years later will unfold many hidden treasures, but this one doesn't. Many of the lower acts are still unknown, and a lot of the higher billed acts make me laugh re-reading the ordering.
We can both point high points on the undercard, and I can point out three or four jokes for each one. I'll concede we disagree.

The thing I love about Coachella is that aside from the festival circuit bands, they get a handful of rare acts that no one else in the US even really tries for. The best shows last year included Atoms for Peace, The Specials and Fever Ray. I can't wait for this years lineup to be announced.

True that. Every year I find out about a band that is legendary that I had never heard of until they reunite at Coachella. Throbbing Gristle. Sven Vath. And I also find out there's a huge following for a band I thought was on the margins.

yeah, and sasquatch never gets bands that coachella hasnt had or doesnt have. the converse exists in perpetual truth. but thats only cool if you can actually see the stage which is way easier up north.

I think KOL should come back and headline the yeti to make up for the incredible waste of time that was their '09 spot. They're much better on a smaller stage sans the misleading light show.

It was shocking when they headed Sasquatch, but I can't believe they've gone on to do Bonnaroo and all these other big festivals. They are just a hair above Nickleback in terms of musicality and lyrics.

I'd put them light years ahead of Nickelback, but they're definitely getting closer. Their fan bases are starting to look a lot alike as well.

You can give me all the shit you want but I enjoyed the fuck out of that set. In '09 I camped next to a guy who said/ranted at least 3 times that "kings of Leon are the best live band in the world. They sound exactly like their albums" Enough said.
