K, I'll check those out. I just bought another brand(can't remember the name) and it was shit. I was just looking for something good so I don't waste my money.
edit: I'd heard ya'll talk about lagunitas before, but I've yet to track it down.

Anacortes Oktoberst this weekend. This is a fun event. Not huge (30 breweries) but it is on the pier and good vibes. Looking forward to tasting some delicious brews over the next 2 days!

Tried the new Lagunitas DayTime IPA last night. Really tasty session beer. Lagunitas is KING.

I was in the mood for a delicious non-IPA beer and realized I haven't actually drank stout since I moved to the bear republic, so I picked up a 6er of Lost Coast's 8-ball oatmeal stout. It's well worth trying in my opinion. Aside from a hint of oatmeal in the otherwise clean finish, the general flavor is all stout with a hint of chocolate.
A+ would drink again

It is still too warm for me to drink stout. I have to save that for the colder months.

If I did that I'd never get to drink it in San Diego. It's cooled down to 70 here. Which is as close to "stout weather" as we're going to get for a while.
That said, check out the 8-ball when things do chill out in Portland. Lost Coast is usually good, but this one is better than usual for them.

I can do Stouts in any weather as well. A lot of warm climate countries (Caribbean nations I am mostly thinking of) have Guinness as one of their only brews they import. Maybe it is because of the people that vacation there but I thought it was funny a stout was the beer they imported.
The Oktoberfest was pretty fun. A couple of standouts were beers that I have already had but just as tasty as I remember them: Diamond Knot Vienna Lager (so fucking good) Everybody's Brewing Common Ale

I basically just learned that I enjoy stouts and it's like a whole new world has been opened. Come November I'm going to be trying new one every night.

The great thing about liking stouts is that Guinness is always really good and on tap almost everywhere. So even if there isn't anything exotic, you can always have a Guinness. That's not necessarily true if you like IPAs or hoppy beers.
