Do yourself a favor and don't bother. I've never had a Bridgeport beer that I enjoy even a little bit.
Hop Czar tastes like Scotch tape.

The Bainbridge brewery is actually pretty good. Battle Point IPA and Hoptopus are the best.

They have a pub on the island. It's pretty quiet as pubs go, but occasionally there's live local music. I'd recommend going there, sampling everything, then buying a growler or two of what you like, because it's really not worth hanging out there.
EDIT: It's called the Bainbridge Brewery, though. There's another pub on the island that everyone calls "the pub," so don't get confused by that.

I wish you could be there too! Does anyone want to send me a 22oz of Pumpkin beer? Nobody sells any down here and I am hankering for one (actually there is a brewery in Austin that makes one but I have heard it is kind of a joke). Help a brother out? Hey Switch! Have you ever been to this place in Austin called the Flying Saucer Draught Emporium? beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/17055/?view=beerflyMaybe you'll find better craft beers there?

Any Vancouver people on here know Yaletown Brewing Company?

So I went to the Yaletown Brewing Company yesterday in Vancouver B.C. I had to go for an event and I wasn't a huge fan of any one of their beers but didn't hate them either. Wish I could have had more time up there.

This is a pretty fair assessment. I like their IPA, but it's not amazing or anything. My brother-in-law went to another brewery prior to this event (Steamboat i think). It was interesting that the seasonal style at both breweries he went to was a tripel. Is this a common thing in B.C.? Do they make "winter warmers" up there?

Tripel's aren't terribly common around here and most breweries will make a winter ale, (which is a sort of sweetish, vanilla beer, is that the same as a winter warmer?) but for the most part winter beers all taste pretty similar to me so I really don't miss them if they decide to try something else.

Yeah Winter beers have a wide range. Some are super dark and malty, some are border-line IPA hoppy. The people I was around up there were telling me good things about Central City Brewing in Surrey. Have you been there?

That would involve going to Surrey, so no, I've never been.

I'm not a fan of Central City at all. If you want the best BC has to offer go to Victoria. Spinnaker's, Swans, Vancouver Island Brewing, Lighthouse, and Phillips all call Victoria home, and they are all aces in my book.

Picked up another bottle of the Pelican CDA (Bad Santa). I really enjoy this beer. My parents were down at the brewery on Sunday and they are already fresh out of that beer. My local bottle shop has a good stock so I may have to get a few extras. English fuggle hops really give this one a new take on the style. Delicious

I may have stated this before, but one of the brewers at Pelican used to brew at Bitterroot in Hamilton, MT. He was legit. I'm assuming he's still legit.

I don't think they do, do they, Chud? I love Bitterroot, probably my second favorite MT brewery.

They bottle and sell locally and at The Man Store in Helena using The Man Store label. I don't think they do much, if any, other distribution.

May be going to Total Fest this year so I will have to wait until then I guess.
Tonight I was picking up a pizza and stumbled upon a vertical tasting of The Abyss. They had 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012. That little flight got me pretty buzzed. Strong strong beer. They also poured Jubelale on Nitro. Pleasant surprise.

I think Ninkasi is my favorite brewery right now. Total Dom and Tricerahops are just so damn tasty.
