Next thing you're gonna say is that you don't even know what D-Box is!

"D-Box" always strikes me as an inappropriate name. Like, I wouldn't let my kids near a "D-Box".

They can't use that word either. I saw that thing for the first time today. It looks terrible.

I haven't seen it yet, though I plan to. I think a lot of the disappointment in it comes from people who have been huge fans of the Alien lore and were hoping this would be a return not so much to the overall feel of it, but rather the lore itself and a return to Ridley's true Passion rather than an over produced movie meant only to wow. Time will tell for me personally.

Time will tell for me personally. For me it was a movie that was definitely going for a "wow factor" but wanted to do it in a wonderful and patient way. I loved every single shot of this film. To me it screams "labor of love!" and invoked a sense of movie making magic to the mother fuckin' nines regardless of any Alien ties the film has.

I'm definitely excited for it, and I don't doubt for a second that it will be money well spent. In spite of my inherent complete fear of aliens, the Alien series has always been a huge favorite of mine and I will love this accordingly.

People had a ton of shit to say about Alien 3 and Alien: Resurrection, as well, but in all honesty I loved both of those films. They weren't perfect by any means, but neither was the original Alien. Cameron's film... I resent having to say it because I hate the fucker, but yeah okay Aliens is probably a perfect film.
But there were a lot of cool ideas and amazing visuals in the last two Alien movies, and although their most appealing tendencies were subdued by the studio both David Fincher and Jean-Pierre Jeunet managed to bring a little bit of themselves to the franchise; I thought they were both really neat.

I don't know whose fucking idea it was to let Jean-Pierre Jeunet make an Alien film, but it was an awesome fucking idea even if the end product wasn't perfect.
