And how was it? The only time I've ever gotten to see them was Sasquatch, and I can't imagine that was completely representative of a usual Quasi show Sam Coomes was off his rockers when they opened for Pavement last summer. Entertaining as hell. I wasn't too thrilled with their Sasquatch performance, but found the Pavement opening show wildly entertaining. I've become a much bigger fan of the band since that show. Come on, he played the keyboards with his feet and head. Nuts.

I wanna know how hard to beg my friend for his ticket to their Athens, GA show in March.

I will. If I have enough material to write a proper review of either show, I'll probably just pull the shameless asshole thing, and link you to my blog. Otherwise, I'll just briefly tell you what I thought (although I would post it in the BITCHESSSS thread, which has basically become the 'review shows' thread, in my mind at least).

I'll see you at Motorhead and CAKE Know <3 Cool. I'll PM you what I look like. I've been told many times I'm hard to miss, so tap me on the shoulder and introduce yourself. I tend to wander between the over 21 upstairs, and the floor, so if you don't see me, so be it. It's a giant crowd of people after all, but the Roseland is one of the easier venues to find people in Portland. Also, having seen Cake last month, "Sick of Me," was the highlight of the show. Having listened to their new album recently, I remembered why the song was stuck in my head several days after the show, even though no one there had heard the song prior.

I'm really fucking curious about all the different reactions to the Residents show I'm going to get to enjoy in a couple months.

I caught some of the Little Dragon show at Coachella last year. Visually, I really liked what they had going on. Yukimi's vocals are definitely a highlight.
I felt like the rest of the sound was a bit one-dimensional. They didn't really have the same impact found on the album in the Coach tent.
I still enjoyed what I saw. If the price were right and I were free, I would not hesitate to give them another shot.

So I just got home from Ween in Vancouver and it was definitely an interesting show... It was awesome up to a point. Buckingham Green was amazing, but just under 2 hours into the show everyone except Gene got into a huddle and then walked of the stage and didn't return. Gene seemed pretty messed up so I assume thats why they were mad (he spent an entire song on his back mumbling). He continued to play a few more songs solo and talk to the audience, asking the band to come back, before leaving the stage himself (not before a roady came on to take off some of the other instruments signaling the others weren't going to come back). There was no encore and the lights just came up after a long pause and they started to pack up. I guess we'll see what happens with their shows tomorrow night and beyond. Needless to say it was an interesting experience.

Also on an unrelated note I haven't been to a concert in a long time and am now even more stoked to be seeing Godspeed You! Black Emperor next month.
