Could you do this for the Carolinas and Georgia too? Haha. I've been meaning to extend it to the NW in general, but that starts getting pretty tedious. I would need to quit my job if I extended it to the Carolinas.

just bought my Black Lips/Deerhunter tickets for New Year's Eve Eve! 10 bucks. This continues my streak of end of the year shows in Atlanta --- the previous two years belonged to New Year's Eve performances by Band of Horses.
Yeah, I'm stoked.

Not officially confirmed yet, but Mama Ralph over at Residents.com has indicated to me that The Residents' spring tour will include their first stop in Portland since the 2001 Icky Flix tour.

The Wonder isn't right for the Residents; they usually play the Roseland, but my fingers are crossed for the Aladdin.

THAT'S RIGHT ASSMASTERS THE MOTHERFUCKING RESIDENTS ARE COMING TO PORTLAND I'll be there. I've been listening to them a lot lately. Don't arrive with any expectations. Inasmuch as the Residents have 'hits', they do not play them. The current tour is called 'Talking Light'; it is a very somber piece for the Residents. Instrumentation consists of live sample mixing (using Ableton Live, I believe) and a guitar. The Residents constructed the setlist using material from across their entire career, and it finds them looking back on themselves and contemplating their own deaths. I saw Talking Light in Los Angeles in January of this year, it's a beautiful show. Very subtle, and definitely geared towards the real Rezheads. I'm shitting myself with excitement over the opportunity to see it for a second time on the 30th of this month and then again when they roll into town.

When all is said and done, HG will be directly responsible for selling 50 tickets to the Residents show. We could have a board meet-up, and meet all the lurkers.

Look people. The Residents are getting old. Even if you don't 'get' their music yet, this could legitimately be the last time you will ever have the chance to see them perform. If you miss it, you will regret it.

Looks like I'm not going to The Residents OR Murder by Death now. 21+ shows. Which isn't good for me considering I'm 19. God dammit.

That is really strange. Outside of bar shows, I've only been to a small handful of 21+ shows, and never at the Wonder Ballroom. If the booking folks feel a sell out is imminent, it makes sense making it 21+. They make a shit ton more money selling pints of PBR to everyone in attendance for $5.
