Ooh, I wonder if that means he's gonna stop by Rifflandia? Eek that'd be so awesome!

James Murphy DJ Set (with Shit Robot) @ Neumos 9/14 tix on sale this Friday. Any chance they're bringing that show to Portland? I'd pay good money to see both of them.

Neumos is such a shitty venue for electronic music. That should have been at Foundation or something.

Rustuuu I would imagine that Friday night in Portland would happen. I haven't looked at the rest of his touring schedule though.
Pea, I saw John Talabot at Neumos and it was excellent. Haven't been to any other electronic shows there (unless you count M83) but I left with a good taste in my mouth. What shows did you have a bad time at there?

I tried searching for either of their touring schedule and that Seattle date didn't even come up anywhere, so I guess I'll have to wait for some sort of announcement for that.

I think I might check out the Macklemore & Ryan Lewis show in Missoula. At least if tickets are available if/when I have some excess concert funds. I wouldn't mind seeing Talib Kweli live. I'm not sure about Big K.R.I.T.

I'm not sure about Big K.R.I.T. I saw Talib Kweli open for the Beastie Boys years ago in Seattle and it was a great time. I liked his live vibe a lot more than his albums. Can't testify to Big Krit, though.

Never heard Apparats but I LOVED the shit out of Modeselektor at Coachella last year. I'll be there.

You will absolutely love it, Nadine! It's like Modeselektor, but with the occasional light melodic section, it's definitely got more life because of Apparat's contributions. Listen to this song and tell me it's not great. I listened to their album when I posted about them earlier today and it made me REALLY want to make that trip to Seattle to see them. It's such a great album, and they've got a new one coming out in the fall too. I recommend giving their whole album a listen from front to back, it's one of my favorites from the last long time.

Actually, not sure if you were there or not, but last year Apparat played at Sasquatch too! He's evolved over time, he used to be a dj/producer, but now his music is almost fully acoustic and he's had a weird transformation over time. He's a very talented man and his band's performance at Sasquatch (very inappropriately placed in the dance tent) was beautiful.

Excellent call, weenie. His presence alone means that I am seriously considering the festival, especially considering I have all my family in Bellingham so I wouldn't even have to drive 6+ hours in a day to get there.

I'm just going to post one more Moderat song because I love them so deal with it. This song is very dissimilar to the other one I posted and shows the opposite end of their spectrum. They definitely still get down with some weird ass Modeselektor beats.

Also, I didn't mention, but that Modeselektor show at Coachella was crazy. I was only watching from the stream, but I could see how crazy everyone was going in there. That looked like an amazing show. That plus SBTRKT were the ones that made my jaw drop via the stream.

I'm obsessed with Moderat. Modeselektor is awesome, and Apparat is inconsistent but sometimes great, but Moderat has been nothing but spectacular. This is my favorite track and one of my favorite songs, period:
I don't think I would leave the theater if they played that live.

Ended up with free tickets to the Guster/Ben Folds Five/Barenaked Ladies show last night (thanks, Nadine's mom!).
All three were huge favorites of mine sometime between 1996 and 2000. All three put on great shows (particularly BNL; can't even try to lie, I still love them.)
Then we went to Denny's. Then I ate a Moons Over My Hammy. Them my mom gave me an extra long hug when I got home to see if I had been smoking. Then I watched two hours of Kids in the Hall and a re-run of Win Ben Stein's Money on Comedy Central. Then Airheads came on for the millionth time, so I played Mario 64 instead. I played it for so long I was almost late for homeroom! When I got there, Mr. Bakovich took my chessboard away and he didn't even say why! I would have gotten detention if he'd heard what I said to Trevor after he walked away.
