For reference: Future Bible Heroes is the band that made me decide to start writing about music, Mice Parade has one of the Philistines on drums, Beachwood Sparks guided me through my first bad trip and Radar Brothers is what the Flaming Lips would sound like if Wayne didn't have his head so far up his ass that he could see his own teeth.

Looks like Camera Obscura is sold out. Dang! It's telling me I could still buy tickets. I dunno if that means they're running low or what but if you want tickets they're there.

Adrian Belew no longer touring with NIN, thus diminishing my interest in seeing them by at least 75%.

Also! I just bought my ticekts for Animal Collective, Dan Deacon, Deerhunter and Godspeed! at MFNW, which means I am selling 2 face value Godspeed tickets for the Seattle show on Thursday 9/5/13 if anyone is interested.
HOLY SHIT MY SUMMER IS LOOKING SO STACKED. I'm also 90% committed to First City Fest in keeping with my "one new festival a year" tradition. That purchase is happening right after Bonnaroo, assuming I am still alive at that point.

Also, I don't think anyone posted about it but they announced a comedy show the night before featuring David Cross, Eugene Mirman, Jon Benjamin, Kristin Schaal, & More. I grabbed tickets this morning and ended up getting second row center seats... www.stgpresents.org/tickets/by-month/eventdetail/919/-/sub-pop-records-silver-jubil-eve-comedy-thing-for-charity

Fuck yes dude, I will definitely be joining you for those shows. The Sub Pop 20th anniversary event with Cross, Mirman, Patton Oswalt, and Todd Barry was the best comedy show I've ever seen.

I will go to EITS and then come give you my stub so you can see NIN. You may be joking here but I figured I would respond regardless. I signed up for NINs mailing list so I could get pre-order and they are treating it like Nick Cave did on his recent stop to Seattle. The purchaser has to pick up the ticket at will call and the whole party must be there. You get escorted directly into the venue and no re-entry.

I still can't believe I didn't go to that show. I was all about the music stuff but for some reason I didn't bother to make it to the comedy show.

I was joking but I probably would have actually done it if someone responded. Thanks for the head's up, BadChoices. I also want to take this opportunity to personally apologize to you. At Sasquatch when Burrito and I finally found you we were so excited to smoke you out and then after we left the hill I learned that in the end YOU were the one who smoked US out. So now we owe you, like 3-fold. If you have a chance to drop by tonight and collect after your shows, you will be handsomly rewarded.

Adrian Belew no longer touring with NIN, thus diminishing my interest in seeing them by at least 75%. He was just going to play songs that he didn't write anyway. Not the greatest reason to have that much interest at all. Unless you are interested in those songs he was playing. Don't you think? I still need to decide which one of these shows I'm going to see. The closest show is Spokane, but it being on a weekday, makes me want to shoot for Seattle.

Nah, Belew has a sense of rhythm that would have blown some of those songs wide open. Also, just to see him play anything would have gotten me through the door.

It is no doubt a disappointing loss. He would have made an excellent addition to the touring lineup. It seems like he is having some issues keeping a touring band in tact before he even gets going, but I have faith that he will only accept great musicians that fit the bill. No matter what it is going to be amazing, as with any NIN show. He is comparing this tour to Lights In The Sky, which was one of the most epic touring productions ever.

I was just thinking that the combination of factors which include Explosions in the Sky/GY!BE as openers and Belew, one of the greatest prog guitarists alive, might indicate a change in tone from the last time we saw NIN come around. That may still be the case, but whoever he replaces Belew with just won't be -- can't be -- as good.
