They played Kids at Sasquatch! I really didn't like their second album though, is their new one in a different style than that?

lol reading comprehension is tough! My main point was definitely to defend scalpers and not to help the few people on here still looking for tickets right? They did not play Kids. And from googling, they haven't yet this tour.

The show is 100% designed for people who are stoned. Everyone lit up during Electric Feel, and then the lead singer (I dont even know his name, this is how little I've listened to MGMT before this) said "instrospection" like 5 times into the mic, which was clearly a signal to the soundboard for what to play next.
They went into "The Youth" which had the trippiest visuals EVER, and then like 3 more psychadelic songs right after.
They came out for the encore, played 2 songs, and then everyone started chanting KIDS KIDS KIDS KIDS KIDS, instead they played Alien Days and left.

Remember that scene in Man on the Moon where Jim Carrrey as Andy Kaufman is trying to do some new stand-up material in front of a college audience, and they keep yelling 'DO THE LATKA VOICE!' at him, so he stops what he's saying and leans into the microphone and says Thank you veddy much, and then spends the rest of his set reading to them out of The Great Gatsby?
...That's why MGMT won't play 'Kids' anymore. Because MGMT fans are assholes. Not like it matters, 'Electric Feel' is a much better song anyway. So is 'Brian Eno', for that matter.

I just looked at the set list on setlist.fm, I guess they have a song called introspection, and the order wasnt even close to how I remember it...
I must have had fun...

When MGMT played Kids at Sasquatch I could see them die inside a little bit. It seemed like they would have rather have played a cover of Revolution 9 than kids at that point.

woah. Woah. WOAH. Just saw MGMT for the first time in my life. Woah... go see mgmt. They won't play Kids. You won't know half of their new stuff, but it's a goddamn rock show. I've heard almost nothing but bad things about MGMT's live shows, but I'm going to see them next week. Hopefully I get the same experience you did.

Last time I saw them they were an interminable bore. If that's changed, good on them! Hope it's true.

Kids is a fucking terrible song. I don't know why everyone likes it so much. Time to Pretend, however, is one of the best pop songs of the past decade.

Just won tickets to The Black Angels tomorrow night! Sometimes sharing a photo on facebook actually gets you something.

I've won tickets to so many events in the past few years just by being diligent with contests on facebook/twitter/email. Very few people actually do that type of thing so it's easy to win stuff if you stay on top of entering everything you can.
Speaking of which, I've entered many contests to win a pair of sasquatch passes. I know these are going to be more popular, but there were a few that flew totally under the radar and I wouldn't be at all surprised if I won a pair. All the drawings happen in the next week so here's hoping!

Ya, I've won 3 different contests myself in the last 7 or 8 months, and my friend won one as well that she gave me the extra ticket for. There's a local music blog up here that does contests, and we monopolize the ones we want to win.

In the past 2 years I've probably gone to at least 15 shows for free due to contest winning. When I won tickets to Disclosure, I basically initiated a contest by myself. I saw the Portland Red Bull account tweet about the show (they sponsor lots of shows here), and I replied asking if they were going to do a contest. They replied and said "Yeah, maybe later today, keep an eye out!". Later that day, they posted a contest and I was the only person paying attention and easily won the tickets. Many venues also have email lists that they use to announce shows and stuff, and a good portion of them have ticket contests in every single email they send out. Reply to enough of those and you're almost guaranteed to win something eventually.

I won a one-day VIP pass at the Kokanee tent thing last year, the one between the Yeti and Bigfoot. That was sweet. I was one of like six people in the hourly drawing. Imma do that shit all the time this year.

Primus has a poster series, and every show has a unique poster. This is the Missoula poster for tonight. Am I missing something, is this some kind of artistic statement, or does it seem really random? Is it cool enough to pay $50 - $60 for?
