We're trying to win tickets for that show on Canadian Turkey day. You're allowed to enter the contest three times per day via fb, twitter and the actual blog's website. I won Silversun Pickups tickets through the same guy so I didn't enter but my best friend has about 20 of the 30 total entries. Great success! Grizzly Bear, and turkey and pumpkin pie! Congrats!! Enjoy the show. I heard they're going on around 10:45pm for their Sat show; if it's the same set times on Sunday, I think I might try to get a ticket out front since my last movie that night gets out at the same time and I'll be right across the street.

Grizzly Bear were amazing. They played 'Lullabye' and I was all like FUCK YES. All the new songs were also fuck yes's. This can only lead to your Canadian show also being a fuck yes.

Doors are at 8 for both nights, and since it's a long weekend, I would expect the set times to be the same as well. Lemme know if you end up going!

I forget, did I already tell you guys I'm opening for David Liebe fuckin' Hart in a few weeks? Yes, you did, and that fact -- no fooling -- pretty much makes you cooler than anyone I know. Not that you weren't already. I know I say this all the time, but I'm not even really exaggerating. Lumpy is literally the most naturally, inherently cool person I think I've ever met. I wasn't fishing for compliments, but I have to say, I like what I caught. You are entirely too kind, dearest Gramms.

WHERE YOU NOT BLOWN AWAY?!?!? (again.) FUCKING DRUMS AS A LEAD INSTRUMENT. AKA YES. They played more new songs than usual and they were the best ones. I seriously for serious looooove the new album so much. How was their Hopscotch marathon set? The Hopscotch set actually wasn't as long as I imagined it would be. I asked Greg about it beforehand, and he said "Oh goodness no, we're not playing 2 hours. However, the more you get the audience to clap, the longer we'll play." I think a lot of that was probably because Liars needed a lot of setup time. Though, that doesn't make too much sense since Deerhoof just set up right in front of Liars stuff. Speaking of Liars, though I didn't see them, I did get to see Angus air-guitaring and rocking out to Deerhoof backstage. So, that was entertaining.

My sisters boyfriend just surprised me with Neil Young & Crazy Horse tickets for no apparent reason. Fuck yes, and there's a holiday the day after.

Oh shit, it's a rust heaven! Rust never sleeps. Little known fact: I sleep a lot, sometimes up to 8 hours at a time.

About to see Thee Oh Sees, expecting very much, but I just need to pop in here again to say that I am at the Neptune Theater (where Dan Deacon is playing, a relatively new venue for shows) for the third time and can confirm that the sound system here is indeed epic. Be stoked.

About to see The xx. I'm not expecting much. Then why are you even bothering spending your money and time on seeing them?

Then why are you even bothering spending your time on seeing them? Just in case you came upon a free ticket.

About to see The xx. I'm not expecting much. Then why are you even bothering spending your money and time on seeing them? Because I used to listen to them in high school a bunch and never got around to seeing them. I had extra money so I thought why not. It was a pretty boring show. Not worth it.

The Smashing Pumpkins had a sudden show announcement for Missoula this week. They announced the show Monday, and played tonight, Sunday. Empty mentioned in the Coachella thread they cancelled the Vancouver show from lack of ticket sales. I guess they decided to play in Missoula instead. They played the Wilma, which is about 1000 capacity. It sold out pretty fast the day tickets went on sale. I always wanted to check them out so I went for it. I don’t regret it. They started out by playing their new album which sounded pretty good live. Then they played some of their old songs, which I have to say was pretty fucking mind blowing. It probably wouldn't have been as good in a larger venue, but it was pretty cool in a theater.
