I fell asleep during a Rush concert. Probably one of the worst shows I've ever seen. The drum solo was wicked though.
Am I no longer allowed to be Canadian now?

I was exaggerating, I would take a free ticket because I'd be happy to have my mind changed. Hell, I almost went in the fall because I wanted to see portugal. the man who were opening. I've just always found primus songs grating for various reasons and have a hard time imagining that seeing them live would change that.

Primus has never done anything for me either, but there are very few acts I would turn down a free ticket to.

I turned down a free Daniel Wesley show last week. But yeah, generally I would have to agree with Womp.

Rush was awesome at the Gorge this Summer. After that show I couldn't imagine seeing them anywhere else. They are all very talented musicians. It was pretty expensive though. I paid $100 a ticket for decent not great seats. Now that I've had that experience I might not ever go see them again. Unless it is less expensive, and more convenient.

Wow, the National sold out 2 consecutive shows in less than an hour. Over 5500 tickets total. I guess they can sell tickets at REM prices, though Local Natives and Wye Oak opening might have helped.

Rush are insanely talented musicians for sure, I just think they make boring nerd-rock. I put them in the same category as Stevie Vai, Yngie Malmsteen (nailed that spelling), Dream Theater or Steely Dan. I acknowledge their mastery of their instruments...I just don't care to listen to them swing their dicks around. Plus I love this picture:

Because they were absurdly expensive, we were reluctant to getting tickets to the BSS/TV on the Radio concert. So, I bought a pair for Stamps and I as a gift. They were here last week and I don't mean to brag, but we may or may not have seen a few celebs while we were there. Some more exciting than others, mind you, but it was exciting nonetheless: For starters, we saw this guy: If you can't place him, perhaps you need to channel your 80s films... Hans Klopek, from The 'Burbs, anyone?! Additionally, a lovable boarder happened to be touring with BSS' eclectic group. I apologize if he wanted to keep it a secret, but it turns out PEA is their newest member!!! But anyway, BSS and TVOTR were a lot of fun. They played at the Tabernacle here in ATL. It was my second time seeing BSS and my first time seeing TVOTR. As beautiful of a voice and adorable style Lisa Lobsinger has, I want to smack her in her tiny face because she is the LEAST charismatic person on stage, EVER. I'd love BSS a lot more if she could at least feign a personality. Other than that, they were great. They skipped a lot of my favorite songs, but their head count was also a little shy, so I couldn't really complain. As for TVOTR, they had a shit ton of energy and as a result, the crowd did too. I was sincerely impressed. I was curious how they would carry themselves after Gerard's death, but they seem to be moving on and adjusting just fine. They played a pretty decent balance of old and new tracks, which I liked.
