Lots of insults hurled online by cowards who could not come close to doing so in real life.
Tonight's show: Barry Manilow @ Le Theatre Des Arts. Other Lives @ Book & Stage. DJ Eddie Edge @ Bond.

I still think Mase did it better.
E, I liked you better when you were just a pompous concert goer who doesn't listen to music. Now you just sound like that Anteater up there.

EI use my turn to pity deltasigchi4 because now I'm pretty much convinced he's living the Slurms McKenzie lifestyle and deep down he just wants to stay in and play Scrable with some friends and some wine

You lucky bastard! They would definitely be able to fill one of Boise's smaller venues such as the Neurolux. Seeing them at the Neurolux would be fucking mental but I doubt the stage would fit all of those crazy people at once haha

So I embraced my metal roots and went to the Slayer/Rob Zombie "Hell on Earth" tour the other night.
Rob Zombie was something else. I couldn't make up my mind on whether or not to enjoy the show or just laugh uncontrollably. When I entered the floor of the arena Rob Zombie had just started and I felt like I was rolling up to the Titty Twister bar in the movie "From Dusk Until Dawn". The whole set was accompanied by fire, fireworks, 10 foot tall robots, robotic demons, Flaming Lips style confetti, beach balls, bubbles, and Rob Zombie directed movie clips on a big screen which included his wife in many nude and crude scenes (a Rob Zombie staple). I guess when the music sucks as bad as it did you need plenty of distractions. The sound quality was horrible but they did play a lot of White Zombie songs which is more of what I used to listen to back in the day. Overall, once I settled into it I really enjoyed it for what it was. It was visual entertainment and I was happy with that because I knew the kings of metal were up next.
Slayer never disappoints. For those of you that don't listen to metal or understand it's value, just watch Slayer perform for an hour or so. They shred from start to finish with hardly any downtime in between songs. You have to give props to them for their ability to play at 100 mph from start to finish without missing a beat. It's too bad that the sound system in the arena was just shit and I could barely hear the vocals or the clarity of the solos. Watching the Slayer guitarists while they solo is just mind blowing. It's like dueling banjos on crack. They both trade off playing rhythm and lead multiple times within a song, which is incredible to watch in my opinion.
So here's to heavy metal. It might be a dying genre, but it was alive and well on Saturday and I left the show with a reminder of why I was a metal head for most of my teenage years. I am also one concert closer to being deaf forever.

Ticketmaster is the god damn worst. I was sitting there refreshing the page like 3 minutes before they go on sale...as soon as it comes online I enter 2 tickets...comes back with the second last god damn row in the back corner of the god damn arena. Unreal. God damn ticketmaster.
Ah well, JAY AND YEEZY!!! IMMA GO HAM!!!

Holy smokes, so apparently the show is supposed to be 4 hours. Wow.
An hour or so of Kanye, an hour or so of Jay, and then an hour or so of The Throne plus an epic encore? This is going to be one hell of a concert.

Phish was the best show I've ever seen; particularly the second night, like holy shit.
They're no Barry Manilow and the Gorge is no off-strip casino concert hall, but to this small town poopkin it was pretty impressive.
I'll try to put together more coherent thoughts once the rest of my brain decides to follow my body down from northern Washington. But holy shit.
